Why do people feel the need to defile music stands? They don't belong to you. They belong to the school. And we are adults in college. Our stands don't need to say "Life is meaningless, get high" and "just do drugs" all over all of them. People teach lessons in this building with these stands to small children. Would you tell an 8 year old to do drugs? Jesus christ
why cant video captions be commonplace in classrooms?
(You said you like memes...)
So, the Italians had new music things in the 14th Century. They weren’t invited to the Ars Nova party so they threw their own (the Trecento).
The developments made in this time period (or party, I guess), were the Ballata, the Madrigal, and the Caccia.
The ballata isn’t like the French ballad (which is dumb because they’re cognates, but okay...). It’s like the French virelai. It’s in AbbaA form and commonly 3 strophes.
The madrigal was a literary form that somehow became a 2 or 3 strophe, 3 voice piece of music with a ritornello (insert italian hand gesture here). Madrigals are also usually very melismatic at the beginning or end of lines.
The caccia comes from the English word, “chase”, and the text commonly reflects the topic of the hunt (insert horn call here). It’s essentially a cannon. That’s cool.
(I bet things are gonna get lit when we get to Ars Subtilior)
Ars Nova seems really productive. I’m pleased to see “imperfect” division of notes growing in popularity because that’s our common times.
I bet, back then, this was CrAzY but I think “it’s finally as it should be!”
but it’s pretty
Mario did it, Wario did it, thanks to Deanna Mustard it is Daisy’s turn now!
actual audio of me bursting into the room every time someone mentions video games

So I re-wrote twinkle twinkle little star for a music project and it got a little out of hand…
I just realized the Five Stages of Grief (Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression, Acceptance) spell out DABDA and I feel like this is Important Information
sometimes you just need to DAB DA grief away

Universities should have a soundproof scream room where you can scream your stress away because this is fucking bullshit.
admittedly I don’t normally like modern shakespeare adaptations but once I went to see my cousin in a midsummer night’s dream and it opened with a high schooler saying “I don’t wanna read this play” so he sits down and eats an entire chipotle burrito on stage and then immediately falls asleep and the play begins but instead of the forest the faeries all hang out in a rainforest cafe TM and at one point in the middle of a scene the guy from the beginning just slowly drifts across the back of the stage on a skateboard, staring at all the characters as the events of the play transpire in the form of some sort of chipotle-induced coma lucid dream
THAT is EXACTLY what Shakespeare would have wanted
Penguin falls down resulting in best sound ever [x]

Having a bad day? push play, and within six seconds all you will feel is tears of laughter streaming down your face and the stomach cramps of laughing too hard.
This is one of the finest things ever captured on film.
I’m so happy this is back
Pingu is real
Some movies have codes so you can have a digital copy as well as a physical one. Books should have codes that you can redeem on your kindle so you can read it digitally.
