🌈 HAPPY PRIDE MONTH !! 🌈

Surprisingly I never talk about heartstopper. And yet, like many queer people, I’ve read the books, I’ve been waiting for the TV series, and I’m eagerly looking forward to the movie and the final book.

Every character is iconic and important of course, but today I wanna talk about Nick. I'm convince that no one can hate Nick—or rather, no one can not love Nick because he has such a golden retriever energy!

I have so much to say, even though it’s been said over and over again about him (I’d talk just as much about the books as the show, since it’s so accurate).

Beyond his kindness and strength, I really admire Nick for whole intense process of reflection, followed by acceptance and self-affirmation regarding his bisexuality. Even though there are a few missteps or doubts moments, Nick never tries to be mean on purpose; sometimes he just panics because he’s trying to figure out who he is and it's human and normal.

Nick is also a one strong symbol for the bi/pan community. I've often felt that the bi community was underrepresented or overlooked in books and TV shows (things have improved, but there's still a long way to go). And when it isn't, I feel like the portrayals tend to focus more on women than on men. That's why Nick is a great example.

I also want to bring up a point that I think is really important. To me, Nick is one of the first openly queer athletes who has managed to maintain his popularity (at least to some extent).

Did Heartstopper, through Nick, help to pave the way to Heated Rivalry ? I do think so ! (I think that RIley from Degrassi pave the way too, but it's another story hahaha)

Finally, before wrapping up this post, I have to admit that... I can’t decide between Nick and Tao: they’re both my favorite characters. Actually, like everyone, even though I have my favorites, I love all the characters so much.

I’m not ready to let them go yet, but I’m still looking forward to reading the final book and seeing the movie.

For me, diving into fictional couples, mangas, and series has always been the best remedy against my strong anxiety. This blog is my little escape from the panic of the real world, and I wanted a name that reflects that perfectly.

I also choose a new name with "pan" as a nice little nod to my pansexuality, proving once again that this blog is, and always will be, a safe space for everyone.

Okay, I know I’m late, but I recently watched Hazbin Hotel and OMFG, why did I never listen to anyone about this?! Now I have to wait at least ONE YEAR to see season 3 😭😭

I’m in love with Alastor — he’s clearly my crush on this show. I’m also in love with Husk and Angel Dust together. I reeeally hope they’ll be able to be together (and happy) one day ;_;

What I appreciate about this show is:

Obviously, the LGBTQIA+ representation in many ways and characters.

The denunciation of some “good” characters doing bad things while pretending it’s for the greater good, when they actually just want to keep power and control.

The storyline of each character, introduced step by step, so their stories make sense.

All the unspoken things that keep us in suspense.

The music is so cool too! I looove musicals, so it makes sense, but it’s still incredible.

The short format —that’s REALLY a strong point for me. I hate shows with 30 episodes that are 1 hour long, it’s just too muuuuch.

In short: the story is incredible, the characters are amazing, the music is fire — WHY DIDN’T I WATCH IT EARLIER?!

Next step : watching Helluva Boss, hope it's good too !

Arashi has officially announced that they will end activities

Throughout my teenage years, I was told that J-pop was a phase. That my adoration for Arashi (and a few others like KAT-TUN...) would be fleeting. But Arashi, they helped me, they saved me, they are part of the safe haven groups that allowed me to have moments of joy during a complicated period.

Yes, the way I express my love for them has changed because I was a teenager and now I'm almost 30. But I still listen to them every day.

It wasn't a phase!

It's been at least 15 years since I discovered Arashi. They were my first dramas, my first drama OSTs, one of my first J-pop groups, my first Japanese actors, and so many other things. Even though the music industry (especially Johnny's) is a little better than before, they deserve to continue their own lives after all these years of loyal service.

Thank you, Arashi, for all these years, you'll continue to be my soul ❤️

✨ Ayame Soma ✨

I don't see many Ayame Soma fans among the Fruit Basket fans. He is one of my favourite Soma for many reasons. Even though he can be blamed for leaving Yuki alone for so long, he does everything he can to make up for it and redeem himself, because he realises that it was a bad attitude (he was a teenager, remember). The efforts he makes compensate for this old attitude, despite Yuki's rejection and resentment. In my opinion, Yuki is very rude to Ayame and it's unfair. Fortunately, he realises this afterwards, which makes for some really great sibling bonding moments (including the bickering that comes with their characters).

Also, I really love the trio of Hatori, Shigure, Ayame, which combines so many personalities that complement each other perfectly <3

Why should everyone love Ayame? Here are my top 5 reasons:

He is happy and very funny despite the curse;

He is not ashamed of who he is;

He does his best to be a better brother and is very loyal;

He is beautiful (and he knows it);

Mine and him are the cutest couple.

Actually, I see a lot of similarities between him and Momiji. They're both funny, mischievous and joyful. The difference is: Momiji is still a child, so he doesn't have the kinky jokes that Ayame has.

My 1st favourite character is Kyo, but that's very common and Ayame is really underrated in my opinion.

And you, who is your favourite Soma? Which Soma (or fruit basket character) is underrated for you?

Personal fun fact : My nickname in games/social networks is a combination of Baka and Aya for Ayame and his personality. I've been using this nickname for over 15 years now, and I don't plan on changing it.

These days I was feeling the autumn blues coming on, so I went back to my favorite boy's love. It still gives me butterflies in my stomach even though I look at it every year. It brings me so much joy even though I already know it by heart.

Junjou Romantica has a special place in my heart. I laugh, I cry, I get annoyed, I smile goofily. I'm attached to it, so attached. Because I looked at it again, I forgot the current monotony, I forgot my sad mood, I forgot the news we're facing.

That's why today I'm going to write about Usami and Misaki. I also like Junjou's other couple, but they're more in evidence in the books than in the anime :p

Misaki and Usami are annoying. They're awkward and cheesy, but they love each other so much. Every scene, every misunderstanding solved, every declaration makes my heart beat so fast, as if I were living the moment, it almost makes me feel crazy ahaha

I keep wondering how Usami lived before Misaki, but the answer I've come to is that he didn't live, he survived. My heart beats like crazy when Misaki takes steps towards Usami, and when he declares his love in one way or another. But at the same time he frustrates me so much (he is cute tho).

This couple is complicated because their personalities are so different, but it's also so obvious and simple. Simple words, simple gestures are enough to overcome the complexity of understanding each other. This paradox is probably part of what makes this couple work. I believe that in the world of boy's love, of yaoi, Junjou is iconic and has a special place in this universe. I think a lot of us are attached to these couples.

Thank you Nakamura Shungiku for Junjou, thank you for Sekaiichi, thank you for this universe that helps me feel many things and soothe me, thank you for these beautiful love scenes and for the psychology of the characters.

Romantic Killer

Today I watched this manga and I loved it. It was really entertaining, funny but also serious at the end. All the cliché are broken with the heroin but at the same time it's so cliché because of Riri's tricks. For now, the end is open so everyone can imagine and hope for the « couple » they love. Anzu is strong, kind, insightful (excepted in love ahah). She is the best friend ever not only to Saki but to anyone who need it. She’s priceless, nobody can hate her ! And she loves the best things in the world : video games, cats and chcoolate.

I loved every character to be honest (not the psycho woman of course).

I quickly understood the reason of Tsukasa's behavior and i loved the duality between his « I don't care » nature and his joy from little things with Anzu and Junta. I was touched  a lot by his story. His vulnerability and fear, because he is a teenager who has suffered the toxicity of his father and of a psychopath was really well shown and it's difficult to make something so serious in a comic manga. I really love him.

The appearance of Junta was really funny and surprising. He's really cute, innocent, shy, fair and kind. He's a great character but, unfortunatly he's on of those we love but not as much as someone more contrasted. Despite of that, I find really funny that he is the one in love with Anzu for a long time and he always arrive at awkward moments.

Riri was really surprising. At first I thought he was going to be the annoying useless little thing (Like Happy in Fairy tail) but he was not. He/She was funny and i really loved him/her as the twins Riri and Rio. I became to get very attached to him/her even before the dating episode. They managed to made him funny, annoying, touching and essential. When he/she was not here, I was searching for him/her.

Hijiri is not as deep as other character but he is cute. He is a full cliché of the rich guy who elvolve. For me, he is not in love with Anzu so it's quite great to see him as an unexpected friend. I love the friendship he built with Anzu. Also he is really grateful with Tsuchiya and that's something I find really cool.

Tsuchiya is a character I love a lot even if he is not really present. Every little moment between him and Anzu make my heart pound. It's an unexpected pretender in my opinion. Maybe a lot of people didn't saw him like this but I did. He seems really kind, helpful, cute and devoted to anyone he like. He is the only adult so maybe, it could be an akward couple with Anzu, but I like to think that he is young adult so it's okay. He is not my favorite but i do really love him and it's an interessting option for Anzu.

I can't remember the childhood/rival friend but he was cute, I was hoping to see more of him.

On antoher side, I really ship a couple Saki x Makoto. Aren't they rellay cute together ? The festival scene with the toxic ex was really something. makoto is a lovely character. He is kind, funny, natural, protective and smart. Saki have the same quality, they belong so well together. Maybe you guess it but, personally I'm team Tsukasa with a real love the little moments with Tsuchiya even if he is a side character. I don't know if I want a season 2… I love the end this way !

We don’t talk enough about Saïino couple. I’m a huge fans of ShikaTema like a lot of people, but my 2nd fav couple is probably Saïino. I don’t have a lot to say since, they didn’t really exploit him in naruto (we never had a kiss...). In spite of that, we did have this cute glimpse into their life as a couple and they’re a relationship goal compared to a lot of naruto others couples in Boruto. They’re lovey dovey and it make me feel so good. I’m really fangirling when they appear together in Boruto. I actually love their interactions more than ShikaTema interactions. Also, their relationship with their son is really sane and it’s one of the healthier family on this universe. I’ve wish for more Saïino the whole time Naruto was released but finally maybe this lack of scene between them is what made possible to form a family like this in Boruto. We only have cute side of this couple and it’s perfect like this ! 💗

Never Have I Ever

SPOIL ALERT : If you haven't seen season 3 and you don't want spoilers, don't read. It's time to tell you about my favorite series of the moment, and of course the couple I love, hope, want: Devi and Ben.

Why?

Well, it's obvious that Ben is always into her. Secondly, Devi really listens to what he says all the time and she doesn't have so much self-doubt when she's with him. He is so caring, sweet and tender with her, much more so than he ever was with Anissa (especially in season 3, that was really not nice of him). But what about Devi? She is natural with him, she never forces herself, she really likes him, they understand each other. I personally think that together they bring out the best in each other. She was really worried when Ben was stressed and sick with his crazy schedule. At this time she could tell he was not okay just by watching him, she care for him so much.

What about the others?

For me, Devi and Paxton are perfect, as best friends but that's it. She holds back on small attention spans for fear of judgment. She was always on guard because she considered herself inferior (because of the girls at school obviously not Paxton) and it's impossible to be in a healthy relationship in this case (the fault is really neither Paxton nor Devi).  Concerning Des, I don't like his attitude so much. Blindly obeying his mother already, not great but let's admit it. But when he brings his best friend and follows him without trying to put him in his place, it's really not nice. If you're worried about your friend, help him but don't let him drink blindly and do as he pleases, nor let him sweep away your desires (to stay at Devi's that night for example). In short, I don't like him very much... In both relationships unfortunately felt Devi illegitimate and devalued. This feeling was not caused by the boyfriend, but she was not comfortable with herself as Paxton explains so well (heart on him because I love his evolution).

In short?

It's not a question of hobbies, nor of intelligence but Ben and Devi it's really a natural relationship without restraint. Ben is more than a shoulder to cry on, he's the man she needs, and I'm convinced of that since season 1. And a little final note: I haven't read fanfiction for a very long time (about 5-6 years) and I want this couple so much that I started looking for fanfiction about them at the end of season 3! Feel free to say which couple you like in Never Have I Ever and why.

It's a free space, I accept that people disagree with me, it's interesting. And if you agree with me, you can express yourself too of course!

Today i'm gonna talk about one my top 3 favorites korean actors. No suspens here are the nominates : Hyun Bin - Gong yoo - Choi Jin Hyeok

I'll start with Hyun Bin !

Discovered in A Millionaire's First Love, it was immediately something in my heart. But it's in Secret garden that he definitely stole my heart. Beyond his physical beauty (of which I will not speak more), I was quite bluffed at the time of the way he knew how to play at the same time a man in a man's body then a woman in a man's body, impressive. His talent continued to impress me in Hyde, Jekyll and I, where once again he plays a multifaceted role.

After that I realized that I had already seen him in something else: My Lovely Sam-Soon, but for it did not mark me more than that. He is not a speed ruiner in terms of movies or drama, but I fell in love with his acting and I enjoyed all his dramas and movies since then. I really like the way he is able to create these multiple facets. Like in Crash Landing on You, the son , the military , the friend and the lover facets, incredibly talented.

That's for all these reasons and more, that he is one of my favorite korean actor.

PRIDE MONTH, PRIDE CHARACTER 🏳️‍🌈 Why is Adam Torres a great representation of trans people ? Most of the time Adam is a really enthousiatic and happy character. This is a person I love a lot on Degrassi and he is really understanding, very attentive, and he is handsome.

His daily hapiness is balanced when he has gender disphoria. From what I’ve seen, and think, it’s one of the most important things about transgender people: euphoria and disphoria moments. Adam wants to be treated not as a trans person but as a normal teenager and WE LOVE THAT BECAUSE IT’S A REAL FIGHT for trans people. To prove he is a « real man », he make somes mistakes in order to be understood. Again, that’s so accurate: for a lot of people, transgender people should prove how much “feminine” or “masculine” they are (and that’s a no, this is toxic as f**k, just let people live how they want).

But of course, he is not only a transgender character (because if I just talk about that, I’m not fair). He built this really cool relationship with Drew (step brother), and he was one of the cutest couple of Degrassi when he was with Becky. His story with her was really cute. I really liked Adam a lot, I was always smiling when I saw him, he was a deep breath on this TV show not always easy to watch because of the very committed subjects. It’s was like this since his death. I was devastated : this very cherful character is the one who’s dead among all the characters who drank, took drugs, were dangers in the car. It’s still unfair in my opinion.

In fact, Adam was the someone everyone in Degrassi loved, and maybe that a lot of viewers too (I hope). He was a LGBTQIA+ representation, a teenager representation, a boy becomes a man representation, a representation of what is a good friend and a good boyfriend. It’s one of the best character of this show ❤️

PRIDE MONTH, PRIDE CHARACTER 🏳️‍🌈  Why is Callie Torres my favorite LGBTQIA+ representation ? First of all, she is superb, she embodies what I call "Bi Fantasy". For me, she was the first character who, after a process of discovery that was not invisibilized, turned out to be openly bisexual. I felt that she was the first representation of bisexuality on TV  of my generation. On top of that, it's funny, brilliant, ironic, sometimes boring but often interesting. But Callie is also, a woman who becomes a mother, and who is completely lost in front of this responsibility: she is human. She is also a married woman who is going to face different traumas and difficulties in her life: an unrequited love (George), the death of the father of her child (Mark), the amputation of his wife, a very serious car accident, a trying professional trial, complicated divorces... And even with all this, she remains badass. Even with all that, she gets back up (with difficulty sometimes, that's normal).

Why is Callie even more awesome now even though she's not on the show anymore? By the portrayal of the beautiful Sara Ramírez, an absolutely proud non-binary person, a wonderful representation of the LGBTQIA+ community and a person who is not afraid to be themself.

Why is Gaara my favorite character of Naruto ? I'll start with the fact that he's a wonderful Kazekage. He's a thoughtful leader, who cares about his fellow people, but it's all in the logic of character development. The evolution is one of the main points that make him my favorite character: sadistic and selfish at first, Gaara becomes loyal and altruistic thanks to Naruto. Also, Shukaku becomes an asset and not a weight to carry anymore. 

In addition to that, from the beginning he has an incredible presence. His story is incredibly sad, that's why we understand little by little the reason of his behavior at the beginning. His transformation is amazing and makes us respect him because where others remained or would have remained solitary, bitter and angry, Gaara knew how to move forward and let go even if it’s not easy.

I also love Gaara's relationship with Temari and Kankuro. Because before being friends with Konoha’s ninja, although he was very cold and lonely looking, Gaara could always count on Temari and Kankuro. He broke the codes because he was not really alone and always cared about his two faithful "brother" and "sister". His lonliness was due to his demon and it desapears with somone like him : Naruto. He was never really a character with an icy heart despite the appearances. It’s also thanks to this entourage, in my humble opinion, that Gaara could be so touched by Naruto.

For all these moral reasons, I think he is a very touching, humble, interesting and an incredible character. It makes him so beautiful in my eyes, much more than his physical beauty which is, in general, much more highlighted by female fans (and this is a choice, I respect).

Grey’s Anatomy season 18 //ALERT SPOILER//

Kai Bartley : the first non-binary doc in grey’s anatomy (I’m so happy) but also, an instant crush for me.  Kain is so charismatic, I instantly fall in love with them, even before we’ve taught that they’re non-binary. I’m so puzzled because : I love them so much BUT they’re in love with Amelia whose I was shipping A LOT with Atticus. However, I love how Kai & Amelia relationship began and evolve. I’m really lost about the couples I love ahah (this show make me fell a lot of different emotions, that’s why I love it since the beginning).  I don’t have much things to say about Kai, but if it wasn’t clear : they are beautiful, charismatic, passionate and I love them so much. I hope that the introduction of this new character will make viewers understand, accept and learn about non-binarity, as the series has done many times before with diverse sexuality, transidentity, racial differences, adoption and many more subjects.

Let’s talk about the trend of the moment : BRIDGERTON. //SPOILER ALERT SEASON 2//

I admit it, I was not really enthusiast about the first season. More precisely, not about the couple. I loved the characters of Penelope & Eloise but I have some moral disagreements about Daphne & Simon (specially about some behaviors). Nevertheless, this season two amazed me. First, I’m totally in love with Kate : she is beautiful, courageous, caring, modest, loyal and she is a pillar for her family. Anthony is a character who seemed relatively empty in season one but who has shown all this hidden part and this depth that one can love in a character. Kate and Anthony are both very complex in a complex story between morality and duty. I love it and I love the chemistry of this couple. Teasing, eyes contact, reactions, everything is absolutely perfect. It's not an adorable couple, it’s a passionnate and realistic couple (as part of fiction). I hated the Edwina for being so selfish and stupid (yes that’s the word, sorry) about her sister’s feeling… How can she not see that they are so much in love and that they are real and marvelous together ?? Anyway, at least she was better after Kate’s accident.
