Oh that's not Randy's theme, that's actually a remix of the game's main theme!

Specifically, it's a negative harmony version of the main theme (basically notes that go up instead go down and vice versa), which Nathan created as a proof of concept while Crown's theme was being developed! The melody is actually used as a leitmotif in the scene where Norm explains Crown's backstory, which gave me the idea to use it in lieu of the main theme (which is used in many of the other teasers.)

It hasn't been officially released anywhere, but Nathan has mentioned they have a plan to do so at some point, maybe alongside the Olandy OST! :)

I've caught up on Murderbot and those first six episodes were a concentrated dose of second-hand embarrassment. I have never watched a show where every character so perfectly encapsulated awkwardness and every line made me want to shrivel up and die. I was sweating through each interaction. My viewing experience came in chunks because I had to pause frequently to moan into my hands at whatever awful social fuckery was unfolding. This show gave me anxiety and has embedded interactions in my mind that I will replay at night in bed and eternally cringe over, despite the fact that they didn't happen to me -- didn't even happen to real people -- but they were just sooooo bad.

10/10 great show PLEASE watch it.

Please remember that "land back" does not mean "indigenous people are mystical elves with innate epigenetic wisdom of land stewardship and they don't belong in big cities," nor does it mean "non-indigenous people can't be farmers." What it DOES mean is that "non-indigenous farmers should be paying the equivalent of property taxes to the native governments their land was stolen from." It means, "there's a great deal of indigenous scholarship on sustainable agricultural practices that farmers should be taking into account, because indigenous agriculture was more advanced than European agriculture at the time Europe invaded the Americas and western agriculture *still* hasn't caught up in terms of figuring out how to produce equivalently high crop yields without compromising the ecosystem." It means, "non-indigenous farmers should be in an intellectual discourse with indigenous agricultural scientists and indigenous peoples that still do traditional farming, figuring how to repair the damage western farming practices have done to the ecosystem."

It also means that indigenous peoples should regain the right to sustain themselves on the land according to the practices they want, and they should have free reign to perform their cultural practices and protect their holy sites, as opposed to the current model where if they try to honor their dead on public lands they get violently removed.

People also get angry at this concept thinking it'd mean non-native people getting mass evicted from their homes but 1) your home is already owned by a bank or big business or government, the difference would mainly be who you're now paying rent to and 2) most of the land in America isn't residential anyway.

This topic isn't about your house that you're already struggling to pay for, it's about thousands of miles of the planet rotting away under the monopoly of big agriculture and oil, but hypothetically speaking I think a local tribe would treat you a shitload better than whatever inhuman real estate brand you're already at the mercy of.

This is one of my favorite moments in The Good Place. This moment hit hard the first time through, because I think a lot of people (myself included) do have this kind of fear/anger. And the first time through, that was kind of where my thought process stopped: at "Yeah she's right."

And the show kind of stops there too, because Michael doesn't have a reassurance for her. He knows he's supposed to say something comforting, and he tells her that, and he's an extradimensional being that knows a LOT more than her and he's stumped.

But. I'm not.

The thing is, Eleanor isn't right.

Donna Shellstrop was not always capable of making this change, for the same reason that's the point of the whole entire show: her environment and past experiences at the time didn't allow for it. The whole point at the end of this show, with the way they remake the afterlife to be a repeating cycle, where people learn (and grow) from each reset, is that people have to learn and grow before they can truly change, and they must be in an environment that allows for that change (they make a point of saying outright that, earth is so messed up that even when people TRY to be a better/good person, there are often so many limiting factors that it's not possible). Eleanor wasn't given her chance to change until after her actual death, but Donna was given it when Donna Shellstrop "died" and Diana Tremaine came into being.
