Finally working on getting Wishblossom Ranch done so I can unlock Tigger!
Feeling celestial today with Yohei
I dragged Daisy along as the resident "fashionista" for my own amusement. Dialogue option makes her being here about 10x funnier.
what's your favorite decor item in ddv?
This is one of my favorite decor items in disney dreamlight valley because these are one of my favorite niche characters who don't get a lot of love: the mome raths! not only are they cute but i love that they move around and form an arrow just like they do in alice in wonderland! i have them peppered around my mad tea party garden in my valley and they're just so cool.
what's one of your favorite decor items in the game?
I'm amused there are not only Star Wars, Star Trek, and Mass Effect mods for this game, but also Animorphs and Honor Harrington.
You know you’ve been playing too much kingdom hearts when your trying to dodge roll in dreamlight valley…
Found out a new thing in Disney Dreamlight valley at least for me:
If you drop a crop or foraging item off your tables when reorganizing your storage inside your house, if you have a companion that doubles your crops/foraging they will duplicate it as if you just harvested it. O_o
First year is off to a great start in Refine. Forgot that just buying gear does not automatically equip it when daughter goes out adventuring (although Refine calls it errantry). Butler swooping in to save the day !
Olive nabbed some gold before a monster got her, so it wasn't a total waste.
Here we are, our daughter Olive ! She has the surname of Orion as a nod to the site I got the Abandonware from way back when (ikyk). I forgot that the Abandonware has its own (unfinished) zodiac. Some star signs are unique to this version (Barbarus = Capricorn). I really like that element; it reminds me of Pokémon Black/White. I like the Abandonware font a lot better than the generic fonts of Refine/Regen. It feels more immersive for a quasi medieval setting. I also very much prefer how the Abandonware describes her as "Well-behaved." It sounds less authoritarian than "Obedient," like Refine/Regen. Not a fan of the way the Refine (Steam)/Regen (Switch) stat menus crop out part of her face. Some other differences I noticed:
Abandonware allows for 16 characters per name, while Refine/Regen only give 8
Regen allows for a leap year birthday, while Abandonware/Refine do not
The opening translations don't differ much, aside from word arrangement and flavor text. Regen/Refine address the player as Hero/Warrior vs Abandonware, which uses the player's chosen surname.
Because my PM2 Regen is on console, I edited the Abandonware/Refine save games to match Regen!Olive's physical stats as closely as possible. These play-throughs will not be identical (simply because the game itself incorporates chance encounters), but I'd like to keep them as similar as possible.
I've wanted to compare the 90s Abandonware adaptation of this life sim to its more modern (and official) adaptations for a while.
Tried to go liminal-ish with this one, but oh well

How did you get that pose?!
My avatar is doing the raven companion pose with the Companion Visible option turned off
Elsa is doing her 'Celebration' animation (the spinny with a mini flurry thing). This made it easier to slot her beside my avatar and have his arm over her shoulders
It isn't perfect. Takes timing, plus a loooot of patience. But you can get some interesting results using the critter companion poses ! (example: kneeling/sitting on picnic blankets)
