No, you absolutely don’t have to watch exandria unlimited to enjoy or understand campaign 3. Yes, in not watching it you will miss out on the experience of a fully armed Orym with frosted tips made from Fearne’s hair successfully being passed off as the four year old daughter of a 19 year old party girl named Opal, while Fearne, Dorian, and Matt’s PC (disguised as a famed burlesque dancer) do an importune very attention grabbing street music/dance performance in the middle of a town they’re actively being hunted by assassins in.

I don't know how the hell this never occurred to me before, but I am now obsessed with the idea of a 10-12 year old Peter and baby Derek.

Because I feel like Peter was just kind of born a sarcastic little shit (Hale family trait, comes with the attractiveness) he'd probably have the preteen 'too cool to care' thing going, but under all the huffing and whining, he did not mind watching his nephew, and as long as nobody was looking, he'd constantly be petting Derek's fluffy hair to scent him, telling him about all the trouble they're gonna get into as soon as Derek's just a little bigger. Peter already knows Laura is gonna be Talia's favourite, Alpha's pet, but if Talia gets the heir, Peter gets the spare, and he's gonna teach this kid how to be just as much of a pain in the ass to his big sister as Peter is to Talia now. It's his solemn duty as uncle, you know.
