Companies in the 2000s: You wouldn't download a car! Digital copies are still stealing, even if the original copy remains with us.
Companies in the 2020s: That digital copy, which you have paid for, doesn't really belong to you. We're removing it from your library now.
Companies deleting media you've literally purchased is 1000x more realistically "stealing" than digital piracy, you cannot change my mind
we need 8tracks now more than ever
I do think some people need to realize you cannot Amazon prime one day free shipping your way into a friendship/relationship
sometimes itâll be inconvenient. sometimes you will have to sit through a movie you donât enjoy and still say, âit was nice!â sometimes youâll have to forgive them for things, and sometimes youâll have to have tough conversations. human connection is often about learning how and why and what and when to care about another person. at least the ones that are worth it. it might cost a couple more emotional dollars, and the shipping is a couple business days more, but itâs worth it.
Real quick add-on because a lot of people are commenting on this in the tags. I really felt like adding the word "sometimes" and the phrase "don't enjoy" (as opposed to actively hate) would convey my meaning, but it obviously did not (that's on me!). so, to clarify, no, I am not advocating that you just constantly lie to your friends about enjoying a movie you didn't like. I was trying to imply that sometimes you probably should throw them a bone or be like...tactful and mindful of the situation. Like if it's my friend's favorite movie in the entire world, I am probably going to be like, "hey, neat movie" as opposed to being like "I didn't like it." Or like I have a friend who recommends me a bunch of shit and honestly, we do not have the same taste, but every now and then I'll be like "hey, that was nice" because it's sweet she wants to share these things with me and sometimes I'd rather watch a movie recommended by a friend that's not my cup of tea than one I found on my own because I like yapping.
Anyway, to sum it up. Nuance is dead. Either lie 100% of the time, or always tell the truth. Look your friend in the eyes and either say "that shit was garbage and you have the movie taste equivalent of ordering tater tots at a pub off the kid's menu" OR look your friend in the eyes and say "this was the best movie I ever saw, you should be nominated for an Emmy for choosing movies, they should make that a category." Never find a middle ground. This is totally what I said and intended. (before anyone yells at me, this is a joke and I think everyone's criticisms are valid because I didn't clarify enough okay love you)
just helped an old old man log into his outlook account and we succeeded and he said âyoung lady, go in peace. we have accomplished this mission.â what an electrifying way of speakingâŠ
Phatsa: would you love me if I was a worm?
Nakhun: I dont even think we would know each other???
Phatsa: wrong answer
the doctor told me aliens keep killing his companions so I asked how many companions he has and he says he just goes to earth and gets a new companion afterwards so i said it sounds like he's just feeding his companions to aliens and then he started crying
et tu brute?
âeveryone is mad at me and they just wonât tell meâ â> âno one has said anything about being mad at me and i havenât done anything to warrant being mad at so if someone is silently fuming about me and not saying anything thatâs their problem and actually quite weird of them and i can effortlessly move on with my lifeâ
this took SUCH a huge deal of unlearning because, like so many of you, i came out of a home where being quietly in trouble WAS the default state, and i DID grow up not just with the assumption but borderline religious conviction that Everyone Is Mad At Me, I Am Bad, I Must Exist In A Constant State of Attempting to Pacify The Natural Rage I Inspire In Everyone. and no it actually turns out that my family are the freaks . and yours are too
âthis isnât true because i DEFINITELY silently fume at people in the hopes theyâll figure out what they did and apologizeâ thatâs not good. you shouldnât do that
âthis isnât true because the ex-friendship that traumatized me ended explosively after they were mad at me and never told me whyâ thatâs not good. they shouldnât be doing that
âi donât think this is true because my current friend group is constantly icing me out until i figure out what ive done to upset them and properly apologized without being toldâ hey thats not good. they should not be doing that
if the peacefulness of your relationship with someone (familial, romantic, friendly, anything) can be destroyed by effective communication/asking them for effective communication, you have got to get out of there. if you canât get out of there, youâve got to throw away any ideas about what that person thinks of you because they have their own shit to figure out before they can accurately read anyone else

forget everything anyone has ever told you on the matter the truest marker of adulthood is starting to hear the siren call of high quality kitchenware
to be clear you SHOULD buy that cast iron pan and you SHOULD buy that knife set and you SHOULD buy that fancy rice cooker and you SHOULD buy that novelty mug. high quality kitchenware is always worth it youâre literally gonna be using that almost every day
This seems like a good post to include this link on:
One buyout firm quietly collected Pyrex, Corelle, Instant Pot, and Oneida. Farberware is a name on a 200-year lease. And the pans still wort
Talking about popular kitchenware companies undergoing enshittification, and gives you a list of brands towards the end that are more reliable.
There is no amount of money, oil, or gold that is worth more than having bees, trees, and clean water.
