“Don’t you want to do something else today besides reading?”
Me:
Shit ppl don’t get about Dyslexia
What Dyslexia does mean:
Memory problems
Reading comprehension can be difficult
Difficulty articulating ideas/points
Words can move around (on a page or in the head)
Slower writing
Short attention span
Can effect every-day things like paying for food and talking to friends
Can be a genuinely life effecting disorder
What Dyslexia doesn’t mean:
You’re just bad at spelling
They must be bad at English
That person is dumb
sometimes u just gotta clean your room and apply an elaborate skincare routine and pretend that’s equivalent to getting ur life in order
Favourite Opening Lines
These are some of my favourite first lines of books:
“It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife.” - Pride and Prejudice (Jane Austin)
“The snow in the mountains was melting and Bunny had been dead for several weeks before we came to understand the gravity of our situation.” - The Secret History (Donna Tartt)
“Mr and Mrs Dursley, of number four, Privet Drive, were proud to say that they were perfectly normal, thank you very much.” - Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone (J. K. Rowling)
“It was a pleasure to burn.” - Fahrenheit 451 (Ray Bradbury)
"All happy families are alike; each unhappy family is unhappy in its own way." - Anna Karenina (Leo Tolstoy)

The most valuable thing in my wallet is my library card. – Michael Lipsey
This is so true, the money it would take to feed my reading habit is just not doable. The library gives me all I could ever want....FOR FREE!
I really miss reading in the summer!
booktuber: now, i only read SIX BOOKS this month, which is WAY below my goal...
booktuber: i read fifty books last year, and i'm hoping to top that this year!
booktuber: this book took me an unusually long time to read, a whole week.
me and my book-loving but easily-distracted ass, with a pile of unread books and one book that i've been working on for two months: *looks into the camera like i'm on the office*
Hello Readers
This is a brand new book blog. I already have a YouTube channel but I would love a more ‘rant friendly’ platform for me to spew my thoughts about the books I read. I intend to have bookish post of all types. Also open to all bookish chats.
