Listen to a reading of this article (reading by Tim Foley):
Itâs not the big, glaring, obvious lies that get you. The New York Times is the worldâs most destructive propaganda outlet not because it publishes giant ham-fisted whoppers, but because it appears trustworthy. Its reporting looks authoritative. Children are taught in school that itâs what credible news media looks like. This lets the well-crafted propaganda slide into peopleâs minds, undetected and without resistance.
â
The western media are so ridiculously deceitful and propagandistic that the fact that popular comedy shows and famous comedians arenât making fun of them constantly proves those shows and comedians are themselves part of the propaganda network.
â
Most mainstream western reporting on Chinese military activity essentially amounts to âOMG you guys China isnât just passively sitting there while we militarily encircle it and prepare to attack it!â
Example:
Thatâs what all the banging on about Chinaâs âmilitary build-upâ is doing too; acting like itâs alarming and sinister that China isnât just passively allowing itself to be surrounded with war machinery amid glaringly obvious western preparations for war without doing anything to defend itself.
Chinaâs still spending vastly less on its military than the United States, both overall and as a percentage of GDP. Yet weâre meant to act like China is the obvious aggressor nation, even as itâs being rapidly surrounded by US war machinery and increasingly militarized US allies.
â
One thing Iâve learned from interactions with Robert F Kennedy Jr supporters is that many of them sincerely donât understand why his position of âunconditional supportâ for Israel is such a deal breaker for many anti-imperialists. They think itâs all about Palestinian rights, but itâs a lot more than that.
Unconditional support for Israel doesnât just mean supporting apartheid abuses and frequent bombings of Gaza, it means supporting the regular bombing of Syria, the annexation of the Golan Heights, and Israelâs insane warmongering against Iran. Israel is always in a state of war.
âUnconditional supportâ for Israel means imperialist foreign policy throughout the middle east. This isnât just conjecture â we already see it in RFK Jrâs other middle east foreign policy like his staunch opposition to the Iran deal.
Itâs a nonsensical, self-contradictory position to claim you want to dismantle the empire out one side of your mouth and pledge âunconditional supportâ for a nation thatâs never not at war out the other. If youâre saying both, thereâs one youâre not being truthful about.
Thereâs not enough rage at the US empire for provoking and perpetuating the war in Ukraine. Objections you see to this proxy war are mostly just griping about how much it costs or whether itâs sound strategy or whatever, but how about the fact that human lives are being spent like pennies for the advancement US global hegemony?
Think about how much it hurts to have one death in your family. Think about how much it rocks an entire community to lose even one life to violence. Mountains of human bodies are being piled up in violent deaths, all to secure US geostrategic interests in Eurasia. Itâs pure horror.
The empire had multiple opportunities to end this before it started. It had an opportunity to end it in April 2022. It had an opportunity to end it this past November. But it kept shoving it through to advance US interests, and young lives kept being sacrificed to the war god.
Meanwhile US officials openly gloat all the time about how much this war is serving US interests, while anonymously whining to the press that the counteroffensive is failing because Ukrainians are too cowardly to charge through Russian minefields under heavy artillery fire. This should draw white hot rage from everybody.
Basically the US empireâs strategy is to use Ukrainian bodies like a giant sponge to soak up as many expensive Russian military explosives as possible.
â
For western war propagandists Syria was like a dress rehearsal for the war in Ukraine. The lies are being peddled mostly by the same people, using mostly the same methods, funneled up into the same mainstream media platforms. The only real difference is that the empire is on the side of the official government in Ukraine, so it can simply use its officials and its media platforms as on the ground sourcing instead of setting up a bunch of weird little propaganda constructs like the White Helmets etc. Syria marked a new era of imperial narrative management.
Good morning world đđ
#world #beauty
They just put four more people up on the space station. We used to use Russia to supply the space station. Now we're using SpaceX.
And the problem is that the Ukrainian Army also uses SpaceX for their frontline battle communications. It costs, according to Ronan Farrow, $400 million a year. Initially, I remember when Elon said, I'll give it to you for free. But then Elon calls the Defense Department, and says, âHey, this is killing me here. You got to pay up.â
The threat being that he would disconnect frontline forces from their comms and in effect, end the war.
And so the Department of Defense is handling Elon with kid gloves.
I think the issue that this raises is it's far more disturbing than just not having an invoice. During the Obama administration, Russia illegally annexed Crimea, which is a part of Ukraine. And now the current war going on is a continuation of that, where Vladimir Putin is trying to take over the rest of Ukraine, right?
So what happens is those telecommunications are geofenced. So as soon as they cross that border, Ukrainians cross the border into their own territory. Elon Musk has decided they are not going to have frontline communication, meaning battlefield commanders cannot order strikes or pass intelligence back and forth.
We've had network-centric warfare for the last 20 years, which really puts that kind of total intelligence environment, like our warfare is based around that.
Where are the targets?
Where do we send cruise missiles?
Where do we send drones to?
And Elon Musk is really in this position because we have chosen to basically defund NASA and to not play a role in putting this telecommunications equipment into space ourselves, and now this billionaire gets to decide who wins and loses this war.
He literally could throw the war to Russia just by turning off SpaceX for Ukrainian forces.
And what is even more troubling, and Ronan Farrow puts this out in the piece, is there are very valid concerns about Musk's relationship with Putin.
I personally found his talking points on Crimea really disturbing because they are word for word repeating Russian propaganda straight from the Kremlin.
In this article, they quote Musk talking to a Defense Department official. âWell, I had this great conversation with Putin,â says Musk.
Yeah, that doesn't seem like a good thing. There's a throughput through all of this, where America's government decides to underinvest in a certain industry, right? Whether it's electric cars, or telecommunications equipment, or space infrastructure, or all of these things. Musk moves into the space and creates a company that kind of creates a near monopoly.
This is exactly why we've had to move to electric car companies using the Tesla standard. Elon has built all the infrastructure nationwide for charging, Audi has tried with Electrify America and failed miserably.
So what happens?
Car companies say, yeah, we're going to start using the Tesla standard because that's the only charging network out there. So it's bad enough when a billionaire can decide, like, fine, âThat's the free market,â or some version of the free market. Well, thatâs a whole ânother discussion.
But if you're talking about national security concerns, I've got real big problem with Elon Musk being the veto over if Ukraine can take back their own country.
And remember, Musk has other incentives besides the good of the Ukrainian people, or of America.
For instance, half of all Teslas are made in China. In Shanghai, Farrow says when Musk went to China, he was treated like a visiting celebrity with flattery and feasts. He met with senior officials, including China's foreign minister, posed for photos, the awkwardly smiling, formal photos that are more typical of world leaders.
Now, partly this is because of a vacuum created by American politics, believing in the free market as opposed to government investment, but partly it's because of Elon's, I guess you could say, business acumen, moving into those arenas.
I mean, you canât blame him for building a very successful business in the absence of government investment, but at this point, at this point, he's got us over a barrel.
And his motives, again, may not just be what's best for America, or what's best even for Ukraine. It's what's best for Elon.

for the record, the "reason" amphibians and reptiles got grouped was cause they're "cold blooded"
because we assumed that animals with human-like metabolism are better than those without
because of anthrosupremacy
and the reason no one likes birds being dinosaurs
is cause dinosaurs are supposed to be cold blooded monster reptiles
ie "monsters that are lesser than humans"
bc that means humans are the conquering heroes who rose to our proper place in the ecosystem, defeating those darn outdated giant lizards
we actually used to group birds with mammals as "warm blooded animals"
and the reason I can confidently say that if people saw "nonavian" dinosaurs they'd call them birds is bc they were all functionally warm blooded, active animals with bird postures and usually feathers or beaks and definitely bird like behavior
and all of this is just bullshit anyway bc evolution isn't a chain leading to a single point. crocodilians evolved from warm blooded ancestors and are cold blooded now bc thats BETTER for them
we can't let the colloquial def of dinosaur stay bc it is a part of a worldview (humans are peak evolution, thus we get to run the world) that is literally destroying it (climate change)
that's why this is serious, that's why I'm annoying, and that's why all the people who compare dinosaurs to "cold blooded" lizards and tuatara and whatever are very very wrong
dinosaurs were NOTHING like lizards. they were EVERYTHING like birds (and a little like crocodilians, but only coincidentally).
and living birds are doing better than ever.
the age of dinosaurs continues. they're just smaller now.
and if you think anthropocentrism or anthrosupremacy is good, congrats, you get to be blamed for climate change alongside oil execs and wasteful billionaires.
the largest bird is Argentinosaurus. get over it.

The loss of ice in one region of Antarctica last year likely resulted in none of the emperor penguin chicks surviving in four colonies, researchers reported Thursday. Emperor penguins hatch their eggs and raise their chicks on the ice that forms around the continent each Antarctic winter and melts in the summer months. Researchers used satellite imagery to look at breeding colonies in a region near Antarctica's Bellingshausen Sea. The images showed no ice was left there in December during the Southern Hemisphere's summer, as had occurred in 2021. "Overall, the five colonies have around 10,000 pairs of adults, so there would have been around 10,000 chicks. We think that 820 â the ones counted at Rothschild Island â may have survived, which means the death toll would have been over 9,000 chicks," said Peter Fretwell in a statement. Fretwell is a researcher at the British Antarctic Survey and co-author of the study published Thursday in the journal Communications Earth & Environment.

"South Carolinaâs newly all-male Supreme Court reversed course on abortion Wednesday, upholding a law banning most such procedures except in the earliest weeks of pregnancy.
The continued erosion of legal abortion access across the U.S. South comes after Republican state lawmakers replaced the lone woman on the court, Justice Kaye Hearn, who reached the stateâs mandatory retirement age.
The 4-1 ruling departs from the courtâs own decision months earlier striking down a similar ban that the Republican-led Legislature passed in 2021. The latest ban takes effect immediately.

My post on the 100% hypocrisy of the so-called âPro Lifeâ movement
Will never understand people who make being queer a contest, like implying you're more trans than someone else because they're not on hormones (by choice) Like we're all on the same side, and that side is "let people do what they want with their bodies, reject society's expectations of us", and yet you're forcing your own expectations on someone else. what the fuck is wrong with you
