there's this weird sentiment ive seen in fandom sometimes when talking about kirkwall being like. nuked in veilguard given all we know si that it has been evacuated because the blight has taken over. and the sentiment i see is people genuinely saying 'well kirkwall is such a shithole maybe its good that it got nuked' and i have a lot of things to say that stem from personal readings and hcs about kirkwall that i wont get into but i dont like this sentiment mainly because uh. i dont think a whole entire population of people being forced to leave their homes because of the blight and never being able to come back to it, including people who also have had to already evacuate their homes once and now everyone has to live as refugees is like. a good thing. plus a place being "a shithole" doesnt mean it "deserves" to be destroyed like. thats not how that works. and i do think there is an underlying mentality there i wont get into it but that i dont like.
