thank you very much! and yes — while i’m still getting familiar with them — i do draw near and mello from time to time. i have a soft spot for their characters and design (especially mello’s fashion) so i’ll be doing more with them in the future!

“There are many things I regret,” L murmurs, his breath a phantom caress against Light’s cheek. “You are not one of them.”

Something in Light rages at the words, lashes out against the prongs of his ribcage, the swell and surf of a great flood threatening to engulf his still-beating heart.

They are thousands of meters above sea level, lying in the same bed of Egyptian silk sheets and goose-feather pillows, at three forty-three in the morning (if L’s computer teetering at the edge of their mattress is anything to be believed), and yet he feels as though he is drowning.

L says it plainly, so matter-of-fact. Like it would really end in a few months time, like they were truly only detective and suspect, actors ready to dissolve their roles and return to their normal lives once the curtain fell. Light is not Kira; Kira is not Light. That much is true.

He has never understood the desire to unnecessarily hurt or mangle, but it wells up inside of him now, liquid want trickling to the ends of his fingers, warm and heady and itching to squeeze. To wrap his hands around the marble column of L’s throat and scrape a piece of himself out, force him to give up something of his own as well.

Instead, Light simply replies with ‘liar’, less so speech than the soundless imitation of such, his lips quivering without any explainable reason, before he leans over and presses them against the corner of L’s mouth. Beneath his touch, L smiles.

I got my nose peirced last month, first peircing in a long while and WOWZERS, they're fun to have. It's nice having that metal on me, y'know? Idk, self-expression is awesome.
