Years ago, I got taken to court because this girl I slept with got pregnant, and she didn’t know if it was mine, her bf’s, or the black guy she was screwing as well. So I get put through the test procedures, swabbing and such; lo and behold, it ain’t my kid. It was the black fella But her parents (being upper-class) didn’t like the fact that their grandchild was fathered by an unemployed person (both the black guy and her bf were on unemployment), while I was working as a chef. So, they told their lawyer to motion the court to assign child support payments to me, and he did. And I thought the judge, after hearing such bullshit, would immediately chuck the case out. But I was wrong. She told me seeing as I was already probably preparing myself to be a parent, I should just shoulder the burden and accept it. “From what I can see, you’d be the best choice as father” I was told. I had to literally deny all out paying anything and threaten to go to the media just to get a new judge. And what happened when the new judge saw the summary, and heard the lawyer say “It’s pretty simple your honor. Mr Scarecrow is the best chance this child has for a father, and should pay child support”? “Are you mentally challenged?” she asked the lawyer. It was thrown out and the family was fined for making me miss work.

The male suspect fired approximately 19 rounds from his handgun, after the soldiers attempted to stop a disturbance overnight Monday.

Another shooting stopped.  An asshole opened fire on some troops from Ft Hood.  One of them retreived his personal weapon and returned fire.  Suspect shot, no one else injured.  No charges filed on the troops.

If guns are the problem, then why is there no gun crime in Switzerland when there are more gun owners there than in the United States?

Gun control will not prevent people from obtaining guns–they’ll just do so illegally.  The most dangerous guns are the ones that are already outlawed from sale to average citizens.  Prohibition didn’t stop anyone from drinking–it just made organized crime more lucrative, and more dangerously competitive.  Criminalizing hard drug use and possession hasn’t stopped anyone from consuming or distrubuting hard drugs (and no one seems to have that much of a problem getting just enough of it through customs).  More people are killed by drunk driving every year than by guns.  More people die from CANCER than from guns.  More people die from just FALLING INSIDE THEIR OWN HOMES than from guns.

Lastly, if someone wants another person dead, not having a gun isn’t going to stop them.  Female murderers often use poison, while knife-related crime has skyrocketed in the UK.  The majority of well-known serial killers didn’t use guns: They used knives, strangulation, or blunt force trauma.  Not having a gun is NOT an obstacle.  Hell, if I really wanted to, I could literally walk into my garage right this moment, and make napalm.  It’s an absurdly easy recipe, plus it doesn’t take much combined with napalm to make plastic explosives.  There was war long before guns even existed, and a maniac with a chemistry book is a greater potential threat than the average legal gun owner.

Thermite can be done simply by mixing aluminium powder, rust powder, and something to ignite, usually magnesium strips. Grab a few more things and you can make a explosive thermite charge that will burn straight through a person’s skull if they are close.

Not to mention: You can simply go to a station, fill up a jerrycan, and make way over 20 molotov cocktails with it. All you would need would be bottles and some rags, which are pretty easily readily avaliable, and you’re ready to create havoc on closed spaces.

Holy shit.  I had no idea thermite was that easy to make, and that stuff is…EXTREMELY dangerous.  I hadn’t even thought about molotov cocktails, either.  I mean, hell–one molotov cocktail at a tailgating party would be a disasterous chain of destruction from car to car.  Oh, even better: Chemistry sets for children from the 40’s and 50’s included instructions on making gun powder, as well as chemicals that the US now wants to regulate.  I’m fairly certain the instructions for such kits can be found in .pdf file now, and what do you get when you add a lot of gun powder to a small container full of nails?  A pipe bomb.
