Comforting Michael Kaiser
You and Kaiser have already been together for quite a while, but there was something that kept bothering u all throughout.
He never opened up about his personal life and seemed to even avoid the question.
Honestly it was really suspicious. You didn't wanna make him uncomfortable and rush it, yet kind of offender that he'd hide something from u at that point in the relationship.
One day u sat down with him and decided to finally discuss it.
Y/n: Hey Micha...... I've been meaning to ask you something. I mean we've been together for quite a while. You never seem to open up and besides I haven't even met your parents yet. What's that all about?
Kaiser just stood there. He obviously seemed uncomfortable at the question which made you regret asking it in the first place. Suddenly this awkward tension has been built up.
Kaiser: I already told you not to bother........ It's complicated and I don't want to discuss this.
Y/n: I understand, but why? You know you can trust me, right? I don't want to push you Michael, yet we've been together for some time now and I think I deserve to know.
He seemed to tense up a little. You catch him trying to avoid the question.
Y/n: You're right I'll just leave you alone. I'm sorry for getting into your personal space.
He spoke just as you were about to leave
Kaiser:No, you're right. You deserve to know.
Y/n: Are you sure? You seem troubled.
He seemed to avoid your face almost as if trying to bite his tongue back. It seemed almost as if he was about to cry. I mean.......can you blame him? After all that he has been through, the beating, not having a mother, being forced to steal, having to be independent at a young age, getting into the wrong crowd. This hateful environment has forged him into the broken goal machine he is today. Honestly, you haven't even seen much else of Kaiser but focusing on football and have a sorta maniac-like obsession with the sport.
As your boyfriend began to talk about everything in his life that has happened, you slowly start to put the pieces together. How he flinched at any touch close to his neck. How he never expressed much of a reaction at your gifts. The coldness he presented at mundane things. His unusual obsession with psychology and football.
This was Michael Kaiser. The man you loved. The man with scars worse than a soldier. You always knew something was wrong but to imagine the extent of it all. It was all too much.
You didn't even notice the tear that ran down your face. Sitting there, speechless, motionless.
Y/n:I...... I'm sorry I asked.
Kaiser: You're crying.
You notice the tear running down your face.
Y/n:How can I not. I never knew it was like this. Must have been a nightmare having to live through this. I'm sorry I never noticed this sooner.
Kaiser:Just stop crying already. I don't need your pity.
You suddenly jolt.
Y/n: WHY DOES IT HAVE TO BE PITY MICHAEL? WHY? WHY CAN'T YOU EVER ACCEPT THE FACT THAT I LOVE YOU FOR YOU. NOT EVERY RELATIONSHIP U HAVE HAS TO BE CALCULATED AND MEASURED.
I LOVE YOU FOR YOU. IT'S RAW EMOTION AND I WANT YOU TO FEEL EVERY PART OF IT.
Kaiser: I-
He seemed to pause. Kaiser seemed speechless. He just looked at you crying and said nothing. Michael was supposed to be crying, not you. I mean why would you? He was the one with all the baggage, yet seeing someone actually cry for him, care for him, love him......it struck something deep within his core. For once he didn't see crying as a weakness, as something pathetic, but rather an act of love, care for him. The kind he has been ignoring throughout his whole life. It felt soo foreign, yet like something he has been yearning for his whole life.
Suddenly he reached out and hugged you. He felt like crying himself. It was stupid. Just purely stupid. The both of you crying. He kissed your forehead.
Kaiser: It's fine. I have you now, I'll manage.
Y/n: How can you be soo calm
Kaiser: I'm not.
You slowly look up to see him crying.
Y/n: You're crying?
Kaiser:Just shut up!
You slowly pulled him in even more. Kaiser was sitting like this for a while, just hugging. At this point, you had no idea who was confronting who.
It was like this day healed a bit of all the years of abuse and loneliness he has been through. Sure he found comfort in solitude, but it was different when he was with you. A new kind of comfort. Something he always wanted but always stayed away from. Not wanting to get hurt yet again.
After that it seemed like your relationship has truly blossomed. He seemed way more comfortable and open around you. At first he was mad and beating himself up silently for letting you see him in that type of situation but Kaiser seemed to get over it surprisingly quickly.
