I saw a post saying that Boromir looked too scruffy in FotR for a Captain of Gondor, and I tried to move on, but I’m hyperfixating. Has anyone ever solo backpacked? I have. By the end, not only did I look like shit, but by day two I was talking to myself. On another occasion I did fourteen days’ backcountry as the lone woman in a group of twelve men, no showers, no deodorant, and brother, by the end of that we were all EXTREMELY feral. You think we looked like heirs to the throne of anywhere? We were thirteen wolverines in ripstop.

My boy Boromir? Spent FOUR MONTHS in the wilderness! Alone! No roads! High floods! His horse died! I’m amazed he showed up to Imladris wearing clothes, let alone with a decent haircut. I’m fully convinced that he left Gondor looking like Richard Sharpe being presented to the Prince Regent in 1813

I was baited into Witch hat atelier fandom by comments under one of the art courses. People were talking about how great the author is with values. I remembered some cute art from it and went to check it out. And sure enoug, it is stunning both manga and anim, and everything looked like it would be a cute story about teenage girls and magic.

And then they started drawing circles with runes inside to do magic and everything went downhill from that. At least in FMA the regime did not deny it was authoritarian.

I came for gorgeous art and light story on the background and got full-scale political and existential crisis. And I am not even touching what's going on with cottagecore-memory-tree drama. Now I can't even enjoy a good art (my initial objective) peacfully because what the fuck.

Anyway, I adore it, and I doubt I wouldn't have abandoned it had it been what I expected it to be. It's just, it became a reverse "find out from tumblr" meme for me. How did I not saw all that fuckery here before diving into it?

What I really don't understand is why, when Luffy is regarded as such a great character for aroace representation, Zoro is so often just tossed aside, like they are not the same in this regard.

While Luffy gives vibes of a person that really does not understand what you all have going on with all that (sex, romance, whatever) and does not give a fuck (or rather he's so beyond these things on some transcendent level that us poor mortals with wisdom stat lower than nat 30 cannot comprehend), Zoro is a learned individual that knows what this is about, but is decidedly not interested.

Aroace people are not some pure naive little flowers that do not understand what's sex, romance and love is. If you look at it that way, 'don't know - don't care' position is more likely to turn into an interest than 'I fully comprehend, but it's not for me'.

Mother-darkness forbid, this is not anti-shipping. I adore ZoLu as a ship just as much as I enjoy the aro-ace relationship representation. I just can't get why push so hard for Luffy being aro-ace and deny the same thing for Zoro, who shows the same (none) amount of interest in this side of the relationship spectrum.

Their relationship won't lose the meaning if you take away sexual and/or romantic dimension from it. Zoro can still be focused entirely on Luffy even if he is in aro-ace spectrum. Luffy is his guiding star, the one who showed him the path to his dream, helped him find his true self when he was lost. Knowing his track record with getting lost, it's obvious for Zoro to follow Luffy to the end of the world. Luffy will always be Zoro's wanderlust and wistfullness personified, whether you add sex and romance into the mix or not.

And, well, people on the spectrum can, but don't have to be in relationship. "Aro/ace" is not some kind of a stamp you put on characters forehead as a way to prove that he's off limits for shipping. Sure, it may be different from your regular toxic yaoi, but it is still valid. Denying and chucking off a huge chunk of connections and relationships aroace people may have rather takes away from representation than solidifies it.

"I use generative ai because I can't draw and have no money for comissions, but I want an art of my character". There's like, a whole bunch of extremely detailed video game character creators. A number of these games is even given out for free from time to time in Epic, so you don't have to spend money, or have ridiculously low prices on sales. BG3 photo mode with the enormous amount of free mods has reached a new dimension in video game photography.

And sure, using CP or DA character screenshots to show off your OC might have a bit of a bad taste, taking away from one media to power another or whatever. And still, it's much better than fucking ai slop. Yes, you won't get a copyright, because character art was not done by you. But hey, you don't have a copyright for the ai fuckery, either. At least you can a) indirectly credit the OG artists (people that worked on game, modders, etc); b) partisipate in making your character, which will actually help with developing your imagination in this aspect; c) say 'fuck you' to the damn thieves, private information violators, ecology destroyers, economy ruinators and so on.

And nah, I don't take criticism on the ai companies take. I'll rather call myself conspiracy theorist.
