Reblog/comment with how you pronounce Sadeas (or used to pronounce, if you have since corrected yourself to match canon pronunciation). I swear to god everyone on earth has a new fucked up way to pronounce it
By the way the canonical pronunciation is [IPA: sædiəs, SAD-ee-iss, like Phineas if Phineas was Sad and not Phin]. For everyone curious
i just seriously hate how much coddling elhokar gets. everyone wants to bend over fucking backwards to talk about ooo he was the goodest boy oooo he was trying to be better oooo he didn’t actually mean to do any of that genocide and corruption and murder bc he was just a bigggg baby and no one ever taught him that corruption and murder and genocide is bad and he was onlyyy in his thirties how was he supposed to know he’s just a biiiig adult baby uwu good boy. like SHUT UP
and these are the same people who talk about how moash should go to braize. bc he’s a fully independent actor, any outside influences don’t matter, he should inherently have just known and done better and immediately taken responsibility for his actions with no help or support from anyone and in a way smaller time frame than any of the other characters and his crimes (killing a handful of individuals) are so much worse and evil than anyone else’s (genocide/war crimes/etc). i can’t fucking stand these people.
sanderson has all this worldbuilding for stormlight but the fucking wine chart has driven me to madness so goddamn often. i have so many questions about it.
like pink wine "aids alertness". which implies caffeine. and orange wine is like dalinar's go-to drink, which means it's probably nonalcoholic. at what point in the wine strength wheel does it switch from caffeine to alcohol. is there a tequila-like middle ground in the middle of the wine wheel?
the wine wheel tells us what SOME colors are fermented from but not ALL colors. like what is violet wine made out of? my pet theory has always been blackthorn berries because i think thats symbolically delicious but i want a canon answer
more violet wine questions. how strong is it actually? because like, i distinctly remember there being a scene where sadeas has like a full cup of violet wine. like not a shot glass like a full on cup. it could be like a whiskey tumbler but id have to go and check but like. if this shit is the strongest shit theyve got in the lighteyed world with the exception of the occasional horneater white which really shouldnt count because that shit is basically paint thinner, why are they serving it in a goddamn wine glass? is it like absinthe where it is traditionally drunk watered down? or are the alethi nobles just getting shitfaced at feasts all the goddamn time?
vorin wine culture seems to be very gender neutral. both men and women are shown drinking wines of all strengths. why is that? when vorinism is normally so seperatist about gender and in the real world alcoholic beverages have so much Gender tied to them (see Beer Is For Boys, Wine Is For Girls, If Your Drink Is Sweet For Any Reason You Are A Girl Or Gay)?

Renarin has been hunched in on himself to avoid attention since he was 5. He's got the tall and broad Blackthorn's build, he just doesn't have the muscle on him yet because he hasn't been allowed to swing a sword. He was a tall, gangly longboi constantly trying to shrink himself out of existence.
