Introductory Post

Hello Tumblr, we are a protector-caretaker duo nicknamed by our fellow alters as "emotional support DILFs" given our roles and "old man" status. So we decided to take that title and run with it. This blog is for plural and mental illness/ND and disability related topics (and occasional nature posting). A fair amount of information will be kept private for safety, but the body is an adult and european, intersex and while not every alter is transgender the body has taken medical, androgenising gender affirming procedures.

Who we are

Achilles: Primary protector. 35, cismale, do not care for gender roles but no feminine pronouns/language please, MLM, introject. I am primarly based in original mythology and the depiction in supergiant games Hades series.

Halsin: Caretaker (and somewhat of a secondary protector). 350, cismale, he/him, just generally queer (I dislike labels), introject (BG3).

We got acess to the harddrive of our childhood windows 7 computer and have been going through all the photos and videos. Mostly ages 7-13 were on there from our digicam and ipod touch. It's surreal. Seeing so many years that were lost to dissacosiative amnesia. There's these huge gaps in memory that none of us have any recollection of, but theres the video and photo proof right there in front of us. Trips we don't remember, toys we don't remember, rooms we barely have a hint of recollection of. That is the part I was expecting, I split long after those years and know very much what OSDD can do to the brain, so I was expecting to come across some stuff I have zero recollection of. But what really punched me in the gut, were the videos.

The host that I've been protecting for years, just a kid at the time, telling the camera "I don't really like myself" , "I'm stupid" , "I hate the way I am". Several videos of a kid below the age of 13, casually dropping self hatred between pictures of barbies and drawings.

That was a child. That was the child who is now an adult that I was created to protect. That was a child being failed by every adult in their life.

Looking at these videos now, I can see several things. Alters that are still here, some that aren't and none of us remember or know. Years of life stolen due to trauma and memory loss. And a child who didn't know what suicide was yet, but clearly trying to express they hated themselves and wanted to "be somewhere else". As early as age 7.

I know logically that even if I was split back then, I couldn't have done much. I too would have been living in that child's body and brain. I'd not have had the adult understanding and knowlage that I have now. But I wish so bad, that I could have been there to do SOMETHING. I wish someone was there for us. I wish someone saw what was happening. Maybe then there'd be less massive gaps in memory, less of a struggle moving forward.

Sometimes, it's really hard not to be angry and annoyed at ED culture and blogs. I know they're suffering, I know it's a very complicated mental illness, and I know they need help and compassion. But when you're simply trying to find nice outfit pictures, hair style pictures, makeup pictures, etc. The ED blogs always end up sneaking their way in. And they keep changing their tags when the old ones get banned. So you block a tag, and a month later, there's a new one you haven't blocked, and suddenly there's some girl crosstagging #outfitinspo #fashion with #*edtaghere* It seeps its way into almost every fashion, aesthetic, and otherwise alternative community.

I can't imagine how difficult it is for people in recovery, trying so so hard not to get triggered and relapse, only to find someone body checking in the fashion tags while looking for some nice shoes.

There's something very tragic and disturbing about it all. These people are so obviously in desperate need of help, their mind is so warped by body image issues, control issues, self harm issues etc that it infects every single aspect of their life to the point complete strangers are being affected by it. The onlookers are both concerned for them and so annoyed at them for constantly triggering other people with their inability to stop posting about it. And you can't do anything without risking making their condition worse, because even acknowledging it can push them futher.

EDs truly are the deadliest, most tragic, and complicated illnesses someone can have. And it seems like no one gives a fuck half the time. I met a girl once who had luckily beat her ED, but was left with permanent teeth damage because of it and had to pay heaps on dental treatment to fix what could be fixed. And I had no idea that could even happen until that day. There is so little education on these issues, it's alarming.

Every time I come across some horrific transandrophobic (Usually intersexist too) post, I can't help but think about the fact that behind that post is a real live person who holds those beleifs. A real live person who is in queer spaces, around real life trans mascs (and intersex people). How they could be genuinely a danger to the trans mascs they encounter irl. That if a trans masc is in a dangersous situation and needs help, that poster would not be safe for them to go to. That poster may even be the one causing the dangerous situation.

Those posts aren't just words online, a real living, brething person wrote them out and posted them sincerily. Those posts are proof that queer spaces are not safe for trans mascs, because those people are in them, and you have no way of knowing which normal looking person at the pride event is the one that made those horrible posts until it's too late.

"Fiction doesn't affect reality"

Says the fictive, the fictionkin, the person with a DA to a fictional character, the autistic with a special intrest on a character/work of fiction. My sibling in dionysus YOUR reality is being affected by fiction. I, a fictive, wouldn't exist it our reality wasn't affected by fiction.

Having fictives and fickin types is being affected by fiction. Having a DA and special intrest on a fictional subject is being affected by fiction, having an escapism and maladaptive daydream is being affected by fiction, devleoping unhealthy coping mechanisms like character AI chatbot addictions, consuming fictional gore/CSAM material of your fav chatacters, developing a spending addiction on charcter merch is all you being affected by fiction.

SOMETIMES it can be a good thing. Havng a fictive as a protector, developing art and writing skills via fanart/fic, making friends in fandom spaces, learning media analysis via picking apart your fav anime etc.

But it can ALSO be bad. Overconsumtion and spending addiction on merch, sexualising underage characters and incest etc, AI bot addictions, when delusions turn dangerous and special interests prevent you from performing basic self care and social interactions becuse you're SO invested you've icolated yourself.

You NEED to understand that this is a spectrum. Things like positive represtenation in fiction are GOOD, that is fiction affecting reality in a GOOD way. But media romanticisng CSA, developing unhealthy coping mechanisms via a work of fictions infulence, groomers using lolisho content to desenitise their victims etc. are all BAD ways fiction effects reality. There's a reason why minority groups are always calling out bad representaion in media, because it WILL lead to people developing bigoted biases.

Fictive helping you do housework? good. Fanart helping you develop art skills? good.

Producing CSAM of fictional characters (yes, loli/shota IS sexualised depictions of children. Drawn CSAM is still CSAM) to post all over the internet? bad. Character Ai chatbot addiction? bad.

Nuance people, learn it.

We are a transmasc system as well our host recently figured out this year he was trans when he was 17 and just last week after long research accepted being a system. We just found this blog but what you say resonates with us. Thank you for speaking up for transmascs/gen.

I will never shut up about the trans masc or system experiences. We're already so demonised and erased, someone has to say something. I'm glad that people can get something out of this blog.

Even though we have to do a lot of work shielding the host and more vulnerable alters from the rampant bigotry online, and it can be exhausting seeing it everywhere you turn, knowing that theres others like you out there can do a lot to help mentally. Always remember that people like us are out there. Someone out there in the world understands you. And if you look in the right places, you may find them posting about it.
