Thank you to everyone who commented in their tags or messaged me. Indeed, today is “Martin and Bosco Day”. I originally whimsically blazed this photo on 13 July 2022. I never expected Martin and Bosco to travel so far and make so many new friends. The experience has been such a gift for me.

Just down and fustrated about life lately. I know i complain alot. I know i not as tactial as i could be. I was raised knowing death was always near. I took up the thought pattern of screw it, lets make life as enjoyable as i can. I know others might not think or cope the crappy way i do. And i respect that. Tell me you dont like me and i will stay out of your way. I dont have time on this earth to try to make you like me. It just hits hard when i find out about it after the fact. Maybe its me not picking up personal vibes. Maybe its me seeing toleration as liking me. I have lost many people i know because i thought they liked me, but they were tolerating me because of other freinds. I live life rolling with the punches cause thats what you do to survive. But alone with my thoughts the feeling of self worth take a great drop. I dislike people, but like individuals. I dislike society. But at times their is joy in a crowd. We all return to dirt, i just hope for the few that love me can grow sunflowers in my soil.

For some reason, it never occurred to me that Project Gutenberg would have public domain old cookbooks. This is BRILLIANT. There’s a 1953 cranberry recipe pamphlet and a suffrage cookbook from 1915 and a translation of Apicus’s guide to food in Imperial Rome and a whole bunch of other fascinating old cookbooks, many pre-1800. Treasure trove!

Also, Forme of Cury is great fun, if you can muddle through the Middle English (Gode Cookery has translations and adaptions of some of the recipes from this).

the best thing about this is that when there’s plenty of resources, domesticated cats will naturally form colonies. in these colonies female cats raise their kittens communally with their kin. so you get situations where moms will raise kittens with their daughters from a previous litter, cats from the same litter will raise kittens together, etc. so not only does this little old kitty see her human as family, she is also excited to help her with her kitten.

then they started fighting Covid precautions.

now my parents think climate change is a myth.

suggestions for kids activities?

So @endocrine0 and I have been looking for things we could do with the little nephews. Ages 6 and 10, neurodivergent iPad kids who fight over attention like starving dogs. They need some positive human interaction and time away from their screens and their parents.

The nearest children's museum is closed for renovations, next-closest is awesome but expensive and over an hour away, and the weather's been unusually cold. I don't want the kids in my house because they've barked at my cats and chased them.

We'll probably want to take the kids separately because they fight each other, and we're both kinda disabled. Other limiting factors are the older kid is an extremely picky eater and has little self-control, and the younger is very sensitive to loud noises.

Any suggestions? It's been years since we were young and so many things have changed over the past 5 years especially.
