figured i'd yap about future!Flora's mentality in this au cause why not! lot of rambling under the cut
so, first off, given circumstances will differ between aus regarding an older Flora let's give some context, the main one being that after the events of UF she was continuously left behind by Layton(as of writing this NWoS still isn't out, so in the original timeline of this au she was left behind there too)
also for sake of convenience imma be referring to her as Flora as opposed to future!Flora, same goes for future!Luke being called Luke too, anyways
she tried everything to get that fact to change, but it never did, eventually she resigned herself to this fact and drowned herself in work and hobbies; she taught herself mechanics, sewing, swordfighting, on one hand she is a prodigy in this regard, on the other she didn't deserve this
her opinion of Layton is complicated to say the least, she doesn't hate him, but she feels like he doesn't care about her, hell, Flora went out of her way to try and piss him off by purposefully becoming less and less ladylike, but it never worked and he was happy to see her trying new things, never once referring to it as a phase
she's highly independent to a self-sabotaging degree, only asking for help if she 100% cannot do it herself, doesn't matter what it is, she's doing it herself mainly to try and convince herself she isn't useless; adding onto the self-sabotage that includes bottling up any negative emotions, she tries her damnedest to keep up the facade of being purely happy-go-lucky at all times, even as she's horrified of what Luke is doing, even as she's actively bleeding after the incident in Azran Legacy, even as she has to come face to face with a Layton who truly does not remember her
she's trying to separate this new timeline Layton from the original timeline one she knew, but it's very difficult
Flora didn't even want to be part of this time travel nonsense, she didn't even know Luke was about to pull this shit, all she initially knew is that her uncle called her to try and stop Luke from doing who knows what so she tried, only to get sent back in time herself
yes, that uncle is Desmond, aka the original Descole, you know shit is fucked if even he thinks this is too far, but we'll get to Luke's mentality another day
there isn't really much of a choice in helping Luke with the whole Descole schtick for her, she's stuck in the past in a literal way with Luke being her only connection now, not only that but it was pointed out if the script isn't kept up there would be a good chance her younger self would be stuck in that tower for the rest of her life, yes, Flora is still not happy with how Layton raised her, but it was leagues better than being trapped there
she's trying to have fun, she created the Baroness Rose persona, she hams it up in an attempt to make herself laugh, she's become the stage hand to Luke's director, hell, she's finally wanted! she isn't being left behind, she's helping, she's helping, she's helping!!!
Flora isn't stupid and can tell this overarching plan isn't good, so she has admittedly been sabotaging it here and there: make them miss the train to Folsense in DB, be completely out of costume in AL, so on and so forth
oh yeah for context Luke is showing up to every mystery post-AL despite Descole never showing up to those in the original timeline, something something hypocrisy, again, i'll explain Luke another time
it's inevitable she snaps, but it's a miracle it took until the new timeline's UF for it to happen, especially given what that incident in AL was about* in the first place, the reason for it being Luke being so willing to throw her younger self under the bus to "keep to script" even knowing Flora still has nightmares about her own kidnapping back in UF, he gets a good hard slap to the face with that one and her leaving the party to do her own thing in the mean time
*i know i keep saying i'll explain Luke another time, so to keep it brief Luke straight up almost murdered the new timeline's Professor Sycamore during AL in pure rage, he only snapped out of it because he accidentally injured Flora instead, it's a whole thing and this brief description does not do it justice
she does rejoin later to stop London from being flattened, but she's not operating as Luke's stage hand anymore, even after they reconcile; also sometime post-UF this Layton starts making an effort to bring the younger Flora along on mysteries and while the older one isn't exactly jealous, the feeling is definitely bittersweet because the man who was meant to be her father could've been present so easily and she doesn't know why she was denied that herself, it's inevitable she cries over that when she's found alone time because she had convinced herself it was impossible for him to do such a thing
also, just know that her bottling up of emotions, tendencies to avoid conversations by bringing up other topics, prioritizing everybody else above herself, thinking herself as lesser, etc, etc are traits from Layton that rubbed off of on her, dude has unknowingly caused so much damage to these kids

alright, so, time to do more au yapping especially since the Layton fixation came out of nowhere
this au, Temporal Gambit, has a far bit to it, the broad strokes is partial rewrite, having an actual future Luke, and Desmond being a red herring for Descole
except!!! that ain't the full story babey!!! see, the future Luke came from a future where Layton was murdered and the case was unsolved, so he went back in time regarding that, this future being fairly based on the vague canon future we see, but anyways
initial plan was just to go back to witness the murder to solve it that way, before changing his mind to straight up preventing the murder, only to get sent much farther back and accidentally saving Sycamore's wife and daughter
this ofc leads to Desmond not becoming Descole, though fun fact i have the headcanon his natural voice is the one he used as canon Descole so future Luke keeps flinching at that, which is a problem because the timeline would not be going to script at all including past Luke never becoming the Professor's apprentice if the specter incident never happened!
so, naturally, the only solution to this problem is future Luke just playing the role of Descole in this new timeline, y'know, the normal response
yes trying to simultaneously balance Layton solving a mystery while also trying to fool him into thinking these are actually loses is a terrifying ordeal
also requires a lot of reverse engineering from memory on future Luke's part, so that's fun because it's pretty much just this
oh yeah and Flora came with, she's making the giant robots, she also made up her own alias as a treat known as Baroness Rose
hiya, figured it'd be good to give some updates regarding my FE WB au since it's been so long
so to be clear the au still exists, as does the fancomic, it just might be awhile before i get to updating the comic as the fixation needs to hit again and as im writing this the fixation has gone from Cookie Run to Professor Layton so i couldn't try to predict when it'll come back even if it wanted to
though to be clear this isn't just me stating it still exists, though admittedly that is part of it given there hasn't been an update in almost a year, no, there's more reason to it
for one im rescinding my previous plan of not mentioning anything until it happens in the comic, if i want to yap about it i will, same goes for any potential future au comics i make
speaking of being allowed to yap even when the fixation comes back it may take awhile too, as i need to refresh myself on source material(three entire games) as well as continue my rewrite of the outline since admittedly the initial draft was a bit lame, it was pretty much just Awakening but Naesala is there, which butterfly effect taking awhile or not that's just a lame angle to go at
also! given this is an au and i do what i want, im taking some creative liberties with designs, we'll see how it plays out once the fixation comes back, but i did at least get some concepts for Chrom and Lissa, which i bring up because when i do get back to it yeah im not redoing the older comic pages just fucking roll with the changes alright

the au is an odd case as it encompasses several sections: an elaboration to Twizzly's backstory, elaborating upon the world she left behind(both before and after she left), a Twizzly redemption arc, and a canon divergence for Timeline of Fate(especially since i can't predict the future, but it would be weird if she didn't show up at all in canon for that-)
admittedly this is an excuse for another "what if opposite?" au because i am a sucker for those, but also an excuse to provide some answers to this time criminal, even if the answers are in no way canon
also im just curious why we haven't seen her in awhile, so my excuse is she went to Beast Yeast and i'd imagine those who go to Paradise would still get put into those jars even without Eternal Sugar being present, especially since this specific case would be prior to the events of any Beast Yeast chapters, so yeah her absence is because of jar, but she'll get out eventually
there is more, but a lot of it is vague: the Ancients and Beasts of her old world having the same Souljams as their canon counterparts, Timekeeper's role in Twizzly's fall to madness, evil yuri with Full Moon and Tsunami(aka the Moonlight and Sea Fairy of Twizzly's old world), how the World of Dreams plays into Twizzly Gummy starting her redemption arc, how events diverge in Timeline of Fate, so on and so forth; point is there is a lot for me to contemplate with this au and i will get there when i get there
okay, so, my Roguefort Bullies Affogato au admittedly doesn't have a lot to it at this point; what it says on the tin, but also some canon divergence stuff
...also because my blorbos aren't in CRK yet, so i gotta do everything myself
anyways, basic gist is during the Dark Cacao Kingdom chapters of Crispia is that off-screen Affogato was extra stressed out because a certain phantom thief entered the kingdom, with them unable to leave due to a snowstorm at the time
also! more, Last Cookie Standing is being taken into account, canon divergence means Affogato doesn't even get second, get fucked
there will be more in the future, whether it be during my current cookie fixation or when inevitably it comes back around in the future, but for now it is basically this
also yes other law related cookies from CROB will be included, i know not why they haven't been added to CRK yet, but hey i get an au out of it
alright, so, Into the Rabbit-Hole won the poll so i guess imma yap about it for a bit (the other aus on that poll will be yapped about eventually, but no promises as to when)
first things first the notation is RH!name for characters from this au's RH-verse, those from canon just have canon!name instead; however, there are some exceptions to this rule, if im only discussing those from RH-verse i'll omit the notation for sake of saving space, and in this au's case both Custard III and Marshmallow Bunny do not get notated(Marshmallow Bunny does not have any sort of RH counterpart and RH!Custard III is dead)(also if you want to be that guy it's more canon-diverged, but that goes for all my aus that deal with a canon universe in some way, it'll inevitably be diverged no matter what i do)
secondly the Souljams have been swapped around for the RH-verse counterparts: in terms of the Ancients Pure Vanilla has Destruction, White Lily has Apathy, Dark Cacao has Sloth, Hollyberry has Silence, and Golden Cheese has Deceit, whilst for the Beasts Shadow Milk has Abundance, Silent Salt has Resolution, Mystic Flour has Passion, Eternal Sugar has Freedom, and Burning Spice has Truth (<- examples of me not using the notation for sake of convenience, i won't be pointing it out every time, but tis the first time so who cares)
there is a lot more going on than im elaborating on in this post, such as there being no Pure Vanilla Kingdom in the RH-verse, what's going on with the RH!Cookies of Darkness, how things diverge in the canon(divergence)-verse due to Custard III's disappearance at the start of Beast Yeast, and a whole lot more, but such things are for another time

TSTL(Ten Seconds Too Late) = CROB, during the Mystery on the SS Cargot update Steak is delayed by ten seconds, leading to Walnut being crushed to death by the chandelier, but she does end up remaining as a ghost who refuses to just rest in peace
TGAS(The Get Along Shirt) = CROB, Walnut's attempt at a stakeout goes poorly; the artifact is stolen, Phantom Bleu is being framed for the theft, due to Almond being mysteriously ill somebody else is in charge of the case, the detective in charge of the case can politely be described as incompetent, and making an already bad situation worse Walnut and Roguefort are currently stuck in each other's bodies
SM(Stolen Memories) = CROB/CRK, due to outside interference the cookie cutter did not summon Chili Pepper and instead summoned Roguefort, specifically the one from CROB around the time they were going through the trial(Face the Trial update iirc), sadly there was a slight hiccup in them being summoned leading to them losing their memories because the steel ball part of the ball and chain ended up landing directly on their head
CD!FMM(Cookie Detective! Funhouse Mirror Mystery) = CROB, one of many "what if opposite?" aus i have, one of Walnut's investigations go south, but instead of getting killed by a certain bounty hunter she unknowingly gets sent to another universe, thus a new mystery is born as she tries to solve what happened and why everybody is acting so different, as well as why nobody has heard of Phantom Bleu despite Roguefort being right there
RJ(Reversed Jam) = CRK, one of many "what if opposite?" aus i have, after White Lily died at the end of Beast Yeast 15 she ended up waking up in a world where she, and by extension Dark Enchantress, never existed; she is bestowed this world's Souljam of Silence and is being followed by a strange child who knows a concerning amount of her past; one of the few "what if opposite?" aus that don't end up interacting with canon too much, outside of this being canon(canon diverged?) White Lily
ItRH(Into the Rabbit-Hole) = CRK, one of many "what if opposite?" aus i have, Custard III lost his staff and got the aid of Marshmallow Bunny in retrieving it, sadly, this was bad timing as she was heavily sleep deprived and it was bad enough she did not realize she trapped the young king in another universe for quite some time
RaDC(Rebake and Double Cross) = CRK, one of many "what if opposite?" aus i have, Croissant ends up more heavily betrayed by Ash Salt and Shadow Milk leading to her being sent across time and space and landing in another universe, if the stakes weren't already high enough it seems her destiny of becoming Timekeeper is slowly coming true here
TT(Twizzled Time) = CRK, technically one of many "what if opposite?" aus i have, this is an au with what i would consider two sections; an elaboration on Twizzly Gummy's deal, her past, her present, and her future, but it also elaborates on the world she left behind thus by technicality it counts under the category; technically canon divergence from Arcana of Truth and Deceit as i cannot tell the future
RBA(Roguefort Bullies Affogato) = mostly CRK but using CROB stuff too, what it says on the tin, pretty much an excuse to put my faves into situations, basic gist is that i realized Roguefort being themselves would piss Affogato off in the right context, some canon divergence elements here and there as well as making up stuff that happened off-screen, such as why Affogato wasn't present in Beast Yeast outside of a name drop, overall least serious and least angsty of my aus thus far

the upcoming Old Hubba Matchmaker 2 finally got me some motivation to make a proper summonersona, honestly it's 50/50 if this ends up being another au on my end or not
don't pay too much attention to any inconsistencies, this was a bunch of doodles made into finalized drawings, but anyways more details via me yapping about the girlie under the cut for whoever my gift giver ends up being or those just generally curious
for future reference he's he/she/they pronouns and genderfluid, and he's called Jay
just like most other summoners she was summoned by Commander Anna into the world of FEH, unlike what i remember being implied he does actually know a good bit about Fire Emblem as a series, albeit not the ones he hasn't played through fully(so anything before FE9, the Japanese exclusive games, and SoV)(also FEH itself since executive decision to not have him know anything about that)
this is pretty much just for the purposes of yumeshipping, specifically with Naesala, which i bring up because yes that is a pirate alt, im making him match with Naesala, you can't stop me
was summoned wearing tank top, hoodie over said tank top, pants, socks, fingerless gloves, and glasses; the coat, boots, and ponytail holder were given to him by the Order of Heroes
keeps calling summoning as forms of gambling, much to the Order of Heroes' annoyance, it's become such a habit that the rest of the Order know that if she's saying anything along the lines of "let's go gambling!" she's going to be summoning a hero
it is very important that nobody really understands his internet, more precisely tumblr, lingo, not even those from #FE as i imagine their internet culture evolved differently
kind of freaks some of the heroes out, especially those from Tellius, because he has a strange amount of knowledge about things he really shouldn't know about; somebody most likely put together a conspiracy board after he casually mentioned the blood pacts, Valla, etc
generally very happy-go-lucky and positive, also making jokes that are only funny to herself in this debacle, this was extra the case early on as she was not taking this seriously due to thinking this wasn't really happening; to be clear, she can feel more than happiness, there is a lot of angst when it comes to being ripped away from one's original reality after all
also immense blabber, it is inevitable he ends up accidentally spilling the whole Fire Emblem franchise both existing and being fictional in his original universe, whether it was casually mentioned in passing or because of a crashout i have yet to decide
some misc things include: found out details about what summoning a hero does and was devastated since that was way too close to a blood pact for her liking(has been calling it an orb pact ever since to try and get some humor out of it, hasn't been working as much as she'd like), keeps collecting accessories to the point there is an entire room dedicated to storing them, her only qualifications for being a tactician is that she plays a lot of turn-based rpgs(so not qualified at all for the position), able to keep a straight face when imagining very raunchy things(but becomes a blushy miss if it's fluff, cuddles and handholding get to her), her original alt is a lance infantry with the skills screenshot-ed in the corner(most i got for pirate alt is staff infantry), misses video games and technology in general, and at this point if she gets access to the internet at the Order of Heroes she's gonna teach Naesala about software piracy just to see what happens
i posted some edits already so i thought i'd put these out there too
