I always took it to mean, like, don't bitch about Mrs. Obnoxious in front of her grieving children, not 'you can't say anything bad about a dead person ever' but let me tell you some people really do seem to take the latter approach and it's EXHAUSTING. "don't speak ill of the dead" are Ronald Reagan's descendants in this room right now?

I'm going to have to take a minute to process this, because it had not occurred to me that "don't tell grieving loved ones that the person they are actively mourning sucked ass and is better off dead" would've been a common enough faux pas that they had to make a whole phrase about it.

I am once again begging people to realize that AI checker doesn’t work. it’s never worked. it’s notoriously known to have flagged human-made works as AI and AI-generated works as human-made. and by feeding it people’s works, you are feeding more works to AI, because apparently the machine itself is AI.

Because I KNOW someone will try to use this against me, I would never use one of these words to describe another unless I knew they were explicitly okay with it.

It's March which means I've finally come up with a New Year's resolution.

For the past, oh I dunno, five years, my resolution has been to lose an unrealistic amount of weight. I've pressured myself so hard that instead of making progress I made myself shut down. This year I don't give a flying fuck.

My resolution is to read FIVE books. That's one about every two months, plus two buffer months for my sanity. Here's the books I wanna read this year (will probably change by December):
