Be gentle with yourself. Be understanding and patient when you face challenges in life.
Sometimes letting things go is an act of far greater power than defending or hanging on.
-Eckhart Tolle

Allow yourself to grieve for what could have been. Allow yourself to be how you are now. Allow the warmth to flow and let go. Trade in all the should have beens and could have beens for this moment, for what is, and start again.
“It is okay to be at a place of struggle. Struggle is just another word for growth. Even the most evolved beings find themselves in a place of struggle now and then. In fact, struggle is a sure sign to them that they are expanding; it is their indication of real and important progress. The only one who doesn’t struggle is the one who doesn’t grow. So if you are struggling right now, see it as a terrific sign — and celebrate your struggle.”
— Neale Donald Walsch
“Be the one who nurtures and builds. Be the one who has an understanding and forgiving heart. Be the one who looks for the best in people. Leave people better than you found them.”
— Marvin J. Ashton
“Sometimes we need someone to simply be there. Not to fix anything, or to do anything in particular - but just to let us feel that we are cared for and supported.”

Our Experience of Grief is Unique as a Fingerprint
have you ever noticed you pick up little habits and phrases from the people you love? it’s no wonder our hearts are so easily broken when people leave. we become a reflection of the people that we care about and those personality traits stick with us even if the people don’t
I make my ramen the way a friend taught me in eleventh grade. Every fall, I listen to a playlist made for me by a boy I drove across a border to hook up with. I eat sushi because a girl who won’t talk to me anymore made me try it, and Indian food because my best friend’s parents ordered for me before I knew what I liked. There are movies I love because someone I loved loved them first. I am a mosaic of everyone I’ve ever loved, even for a heartbeat.
Today’s adventure. I had to force myself to get out of my apartment. I’m so much of a homebody that sometimes I don’t realize that I don’t leave my apartment for days.
But today, I needed sunshine, fresh air, old hip-hop favorites, and friendly faces along the trail. There has been so much heaviness in the world. I was reminded of ease and kindness.
A woman skated towards me and asked if I had lost my car keys. She was skating up and down the trail to find the owner of the car keys. Finally, another woman came up to me to ask if I had seen car keys on the trail. I told her that the woman behind us had the car keys.
I’m just babbling at this point. But I guess what I’m trying to say is that interaction gave me hope for the kind of world I want to live in.
“My fear of being real, of being seen, paralyzes me into silence. I crave the touch and the connection, but I’m not always brave enough to open my hand and reach out. This is the great challenge: to be seen, accepted, and loved, I must first reveal, offer, and surrender.”
— Anna White
“Embrace the struggle and let it make you stronger. It won’t last forever.”
— Unknown
“No matter how much you revisit the past, there is nothing new to see.”
— Robert Tew
this (!!!!) is really resonating with me!!
“Start now. Start where you are. Start with fear. Start with pain. Start with doubt. Start with hands shaking. Start with voice trembling but start. Start and don’t stop. Start where you are, with what you have. Just… start.”
— Ijeoma Umebinyuo
