Youth Molder
By the time I was 9 years old, I has the chance to walk through the gate of the New Era University, a moment that I can never truly forget. It was like entering an oasis that you only get to see in your dreams - beautiful, majestic, so pleasing to the naked eyes, enough to satisfy your thirst for beauty. It was the time a new quest and goal began in my life.
A school that opened its doors to learners way back June 17, 1975, it was first named "New Era Educational Institute" and had its first offcie located ar Echage, Quiapo, Manila. With small numbers of teachers and educators, they were given the privilege to be encouraged to teach in the school by the by-then Executive Minister of the Iglesia Ni Cristo, Bro. Eraño G. Manalo. Indeed, what an honor that is.
New Era University is a learning facility established by the Iglesia Ni Cristo but it is a non-sectarian school. It is a school for all people to learn, develop, and succeed. With the support of the church, the university is a place where you can enjoy peace and order, you undoubtedly feel secure.
Going back to the quest I mentioned, as a child who had alreadg witnessed the premises of the school, I aimed to study there. I pursued my dreams and so I stumbled upon the end of it. Time flied, I aged and it was my time to decide to study here in New Era University.
With my experienxe and expectations of what my education would be like here, I will say that you will not regret deciding to study here. With quality education rendered at such a low price, New Era University does not pursue your money. With large facilities to offer, you can enjoy learning and your succeed on quest your quest for wisdom. You can be friends with teachers who share the same faith with you, and you can interact with people without any doubts about them.
New Era University is a school with Godliness as its philosophy, Christian culture if excellence and service to humanity as its Vision, and bringing honor and glory to God as its mission. A school that has no other intent than to produce God-centered students with selflessness, prioritizing the exaltation of God, and upholding righteousness and prosperity for all.
"The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding. Cherish her, and she will exalt you; embrace her, and she will honor you. She will give you a garland to grace your yead and present you with a glorious crown" - Proverbs 4:7-9. If your aspiration is to learn quality education with christian value and unity as primary benefits, heed this Bible verse for you can comply and attain it in this school. In this school, you will achieve many extraordinary things, you can grasp and enjoy your success.
Take me back to Yesterday
Everyday is a gift as what everyone says. Everyday is another day worth living. Everyday is different day because we face and meet new things, transpirations, and feelings. We never know what will happen today and tomorrow, we only need to have faith and trust that it will turn our well.
Ever since I started to live here in the city of Quezon and study at New Era University, everything changed for me. I lived almost my whole life in the premises of my parents' house and together with them. I used to be very dependent to them. They'd wake me up, get the food ready for me, prepare my clothes for school then kiss me goodbye and goodluck every morning during school days. But just like the famous quote states, "the only thing permanent in this world is change". Indeed change caught up to me, and swallowed me to its dimension. It made me its victim.
From a life of a prince or someone of royal blood, to a life of a solitary being with only himself to depend on, I faced this life with what I had, with what I can. It wasn't easy to adjust to this new environment. With people being not-so-ideal, with the busy and detrimental places here, you never know what awaits you in your next step in this scape.
I did what I had to do. I had to take this road and go towards the future even if I have no foresight of what is ahead. I was audacious and luckily things escalated well for me. I met new friends on my first day here, I learned new things about how cruel life is and how to cope up with it, and I learned to appreciate the little things we see in our horizon. I learned to behold the beauty of the sky.
My daily life goes like this. First I wake up at 5:30 am then prepare for school. I usually leave the house at 5:50 am then walk towards the end of the street to ride a jeepney or a trycicle. While I am walking I always see this baby in his stroller, about 2 years old. He's a chubby and cheerful baby who always smiles and is greeted by almost everyone who walks at the street. He is really super cute especially when he smiles revealing his teeth. As I walk, I also glance at the sky, enjoying the sunrise every morning as it marks a new day to venture.
I then ride the jeepney or trycicle twice to get to school. When I arrive, I walk towards our room. It is a very long walk before getting to our classroom located at the 5th floor the reason why even during our first subject, we all look very stressed out and tired already. As I reach fhe 5th floor I always see this majestic view at the window. I always see how the rays of the sun illuminates the enormous city of Quezon. Everything looks so bright and brilliant especially the Central Church of the Iglesia Ni Cristo. Every morning, this view lightens me up.
Then classes start, we study, comply to our teachers and school works. At 9am and sometimes 11am we eat at the main canteen 2. Me together with 10 of my classmates. We're a group in our room. Then go back to the classroom to attend the next class. Classes usually end at 1:30 pm and during that time, we don't go home yet. Sometimes we'd just hang out outside the room or go down to rockwell then just chat about everything. I usually start to go homr at 2pm and I walk to the public together with Omar, Kaye, Deejay, Aj, and Nicha.
I will again ride the jeepney twice before I arrive at the end of our street and I usually get down the jeepney at 3pm. As I walk home, I see cats in numbers and I always take pictures of them and again, this uplifts my tired spirit. As I arrive home, I put my bag down, take off my clothes and get changed, then sleep. On the evening, I eat dinner at the next street then go home then do my school requirements. I usually sleep at 12am because of how many things needed to be done are.
Well that's how my life goes. Some may find it boring because everything happens the same but for me, no. It's a typical life but I learned how to make the most out of it and maximize my happiness by sharing it to others. I have my friends to enjoy my life with and make memories with. I have my phone to take pictures of my interest and keep it as inventory. I have my eyes to behold the skies and people and the mind and heart to enjoy every single of it. And above all, I have faith in God that he is the one who will always guide and safeguard me.
Everyday is a different day. To my life, some may see it as monotonous life with no color to enjoy, but no. Every day is a different day and I enjoy the every single day of my life even if mixed emotions come at me, even if sometimes I feel so sad and miss my old life, I still enjoy my life and I always wish that I can turn back time and go back to yesterday.
Let's Meat at the Usual
Juicy. Tender. Unlimited. That's what unlimited korean bbq or others call Samgyupsal is, to eat all the meat you can consume until the button of your pants can't hold the bloated belly of yours anymore. Satisfying and worth it it really is.
"Samgyeoupsoul" is the name of the unlimited korean bbq restaurant we always eat at, me and my big brother. Located at Open Kitchen food park in Congressional Avenue extension, it is a place diverse in many sorts of food stalls.
Just like what the name of the stall is, indeed the samgyupsal (korean term for grilled meat) touches your soul with the meaty tenderness of the meat. You decide how you will cook the meat! That's what is really enjoyable about it, you get to cook your own food through a smokless and oil less grilling pan. If you want crunchy meat, then grill for atleast 7 minutes. If you prefer medium rare, cook for 4 minutes.
The stall offers two kinds of meat, beef and pork. If you want to have only pork, you will have to pay 249 pesos but if you want unlimited pork and beef, you will have to pay 349 pesos. It is really worth it! It seems too much at first but when you get to bite that juicy meat, you'll say "it's so freaking worth it, it's so delicious"
The order also comes with three kinds of sauce, sesame oil, korean spicy bean sauce, and korean soy sauce which really fits the pale taste of the meat. These flavors are really the coloring elements to the food you eat. It also comes with three side dishes, 3 healthy dishes, bean sprouts, water spinach, and the spicy mouthwathering kimchi. It also comes with fresh picked lettuce.
To really enjoy the food, first is get the lettuce then put meat, the sauce of your reference, the three side dishes then fold it, thet crunch it whole! Swallow it whole and you can enjoy the crunciness of the lettuce, the tenderness of the meat and the vibrant flavors of the side dishes combining with the taste of your sauce.
This place is the food place we are always at. Why? Simply because of the affordable price, the quality of the food and the unlimited korean pork, and you even get to order other food from different stalls and because the location is very easy to go to! And the place is very segregated, the liquor area where customers are allowed to eat is at the second floor and those who only intends to eat stay at the first floor to maintain peace and to keep others from being awkward and feel anxious of the people who are already drunk.
Generation Dog
Maki is typically and usually a name called for the Japanese rice food. But for me and my family, it's a loving dog who provides help and eases the pain for everyone. Maki is the dog not just by one family, but by the whole clan.
A dog owned by the second eldest nephew of the 10 children of my Grandparents, closest to the second son of that cousin of mine. Maki is already old, being almost 6 years old, that is already an adult for a dog's life. He became part of the family with two bestfriends (the 2 sons of my cousin) and indeed I saw how the life of my nephews altered from being enveloped by dolefulness, to being enlightened and blissful.
Maki is always brought to clan get togethers and outings. He is actually a travelling dog too because the family he has now loves to travel to places and because our clan always go out ok a vacation to different places too. This dog is really lucky with the family he has as he can enjoy the freedom of going to places and smother the grass as he runs to the fields of everywhere we go.
Maki's family prospers in life so he got what he needs. If he wants food, they'll give him some. Whatever he wants, they will provide as they already consider him as their son as well. He always gets to be groomed too.
Maki is the dog of the generation of our clan as he was petted by my grandmother who has already passed away and until now, Maki is still running to the scapes of wherever they go. He has seen us grow and develop, he has seen new members of the family join the clan.
Two years ago his new baby brother came to this world. Another member of the family he belongs. I saw how Maki took care of his new baby brother. How patient he is as Adam plays with him and even rides him even if he is too big and heavy. Maki is a big brother too, a loving and caring big brother.
On my perspective and experiences with him, I can say that he is the best dog in this world. He lacks the skills and doesn't understand our commands but I know that he understands us. He knows what we're saying and I know how much our clan loves him and appreciate his existence for providing us the love we need, how he lifts our spirits up, and how he tales care of the youngest member of our clan. Indeed, Maki, you are the greates dog and gift a clan can ever receive from heaven.
First time in Forever
It was my first time to join a school fieldtrip. Ever since I was in kindergarten, my parents told me that we'll go to the places my classmates will go to during the fieldtrip and we did. We went to every single place they went. But they didn't know what I was missing, it was the interaction with my classmates and friends during the school activity. I didn't get to socialize with them. I'm not rebelling against my parents' decision, I'm simply expressing what I think is missing from me. I know that their only intent was for my own safety.
As a son of a minister, studying at New Era University, well finally! I got to join the school fieldtrip. I really didn't know what happens during a fieldtrip, but I was still very excited! I was very mischievous throughout the whole activity. I went from here to there, I was very noisy at the bus and I sat on every seat! I was really hyped up.
So sharing my experience, here it goes. Chronologically ordered!
We first went to the Presidential Car Museum located at the Quezon Memorial Circle where we saw luxurious vintage cars dating back to the early 1900's. We beheld the cars of Emilio Aguinaldo if I'm not mistaken up to the car of Former president Gloria Macapagal Arroyo. We even saw the car of General Macarthur! I really enjoyed that place first because I'm a car enthusiast and I love to drive, and second is because I'm very fond of history and I enjoy studying it.
We then went to Art in Island where it was like we entered a portal leading to a world of vast vibrant atmosphere. It was full of colors and arts and mosaics. You can even take illusionary pictures because of the 3D painted paintings and drawing and sculptures. What I really enjoyed there was the art with red and yellow, the mustard and ketchup of the masterpiece I ate, the hotdog in sandwich hehe. I was really hungry at that time so I had no choice but to eat. And I also appreciated the large cat mosaic because I really adore cats! I'd give them everything they need!
To eat lunch and wait for the opening of our last destination, we went to the SM Mall of Asia where we ate at Bonchon and itchy spots appeared on my face. At first I thougt it was allergies because it was extremely hot over there. So I bought some anti-allergy medicine and it lessened the itchiness.
We then walked to the sea side where the scorching heat of the sun almost burned my umbrella. So we went back to the mall, stayed and sat at the stairways near the sea and waited for time to pass. Before going to the bus, I bought some really delicious ice cream on waffle! Cookies and cream flavor.
Then we went to our final destination. To Star City. It was about 11 years ago the last time I went here and the place didn't change that much. We first went to the haunted house where I once was very afraid of but now, I'm one with the simulating robots who scared my classmates! They screamed so loud that they can be heard from the depths of Tartarus, and reach the deep slumber of Hades in the underworld! I really enjoyed frightening them. So malefic of me.
Next is we rode the space ship ride that went on a clockwise pace. I didn't enjoy that ride too much because I was alone on my cart and it was just so boring to be honest.
We then went to the Annex where almost all of classmates and me lined up for the Frisbee! It was a very long line but the moment we fastened our seatbelts and safety equipments, the only thing we could do was pray that we won't die. The ride was extremely extreme! It scared the crap out of me! For 5 minutes I screamed! I shouted "AYOKO NA AYOKO NA AYOKO NA" continuously. The ride was like a flickering switch. We would be at the peak, seeing the majestic sky with the last fragments of sun rays from the setting sun, fhat sight was really marvelling. Then we'd fall and that was really really frightening! I almost passed out but I did my best to shout and scream to release the tension that was building up in me. After the ride I just sat down the chair, and took a nap because my head felt like it was being cracked into two.
We then ate at the food court of the entertainment centre where I took pics of course and we had our chats and talks. The whole time we were with out adviser.
Then we decided to go for our last ride, the ferriswheel. We were at the peak of the centre where we saw the overwhelming night life of the cities in Manila. We saw thousands of lights of cars and buildings, street lights and we saw the astonishing moon and night sky that left me awestruck. My crestfallen self suddenly faded, I was filled with bliss as I am also inlove with the night.
We then went back to the bus to commence our journey back to the school. It was a 30 minute drive and the moment we arrived at school, I said my farewells and thanks m, my brother was waiting for me. It was a really nice experience for a first timer like me. I had the best of fun not because of the places, but because of the people I interacted with and enjoyed the moments with. But the most memorable of all, is the fact that my spots were actually chicken pox papules and later on, I had chicken pox. So I couldn't attend classes for a week but atleast, I reveled and had fun before succumbing into misery.
All it takes is a bit of Courage
“You only need a minute of courage to face embarrassment and what happens next is history” as tweeted in twitter by a friend of mine. Making a decision is like picking a fruit from an unknown tree, you’ll never know what it tastes like unless you pull yourself together and take that bite.
Indeed, life is a mystery- we never know what’s behind the door.
I was young back then when I used to imagine myself in other people’s shoes. “I wonder what does it feel like to live their life? To live in the capital of the country?” I used to ask myself out of my endless curiosity. Sometimes I’d even ask my parents about their lives back when they were still living in Manila, and they’d go talk about it enthusiastically, they’d tell me the things you can see in the ginormous cities, they’d transform reality to a dimension of their experiences for hours, but those hours were only seconds for me. Every word they say leave a feeling of envy in my heart.
It wasn’t long till the time for me to make the decision that will forever change my life come. For me to choose whether to stay in my comfort zone, to continue living with my parents, like a joey living in dependence in the pouch of its mother, living a dream, or to go beyond and venture to a new world and make my dreams come true, to live in the capital of the Philippines. I thought about it for years that it made me cause a heavy rainfall to my bed with my endless tears. But as dependent human to God, I prayed. I prayed every single night, and my prayers calmed me, God eased my uncertainty, like a parent caressing His child to halt his cries.
Time was really not in my favor. Time continued to perish like a sand in an hourglass falling to the other side. Time was swift that I couldn’t catch up. So I made my decision before time swallow me to oblivion. I had no other choice. With my uncertainty still residing in me, I made a choice with no accurate outcome. But all decision is a risk taken. I decided to sever my ties with my fear of living in solitude. I was the most uncertain person at that time.
Time came for me to live my dream. With no knowledge about the life I’ve chosen, I charged in. I was like a knight in a cavalry in an onslaught with no idea if I’ll survive or not. But what’s fun in life if you remain in only one place, if you don’t go see how wonderful the world is? So I gathered all my courage, I held back my tears, it was time for me to leave this boy in me behind and become a man. I challenged my greatest fears and with my valor I succeeded, with bravery I survived.
Surviving means being bold. There will always be a point in our life when we have to make our greatest decision. It may be between life and death, bliss or sin, or between love for others or love for yourself. But it doesn’t matter what ever the risks are, what’s important is you have the valor to accept the result of your action, faith in yourself and in God, and the willpower to do your best to make the most out of your decision.
My decision may have degraded my integrity, but with my efforts, with my firm conviction, I deterred what was degrading me. I uplifted my own morale with the guidance of God, and now I am serene that I will survive. I am thankful for once being the most uncertain person in the world, because my uncertainty led me to reality.
A Venture to the Unknown
From the captivating setting of the sun on the southern mountain ranges of the Philippines, to the early burning sunrise on the serene seas of the east, marking a new dawn, we treaded an endless road full of circles and turns unknown to us. With every acquisition in hand, we ventured towards a new place we would soon call home.
I can still remember the last and longest night I had before moving to a place with no idea in mind what it’s like there. It was the most memorable night spent with loving friends, beloved brethren, and with constituents. The night was long that we reveled ourselves with mouthwatering foods and screaming laughs, we rejoiced to celebrate my last day as a Zambaleño. We pampered ourselves to cover the deep dolefulness we were feeling.
At the peak of the midnight we said our farewells to the people unbounded by blood we considered as family, we commenced the long journey towards the unknown. From dusk ‘till dawn we traveled farther than everyone else. We passed by thousands of buildings, thousands of people, witnessed the lustrous rays of the sunrise, and traversed through the littlest of towns to the largest of the cities and still we haven’t reached our destination.
For such a long time we saw the best of scenes. From a city at night full of lights, to a dark horizon with only trees, to beholding how enchanting the night sky can be with thousands of stars printed in the sky like dots in a paper. From enduring great heats to going right through a storm, we bided it all with hope in our hearts, with optimism in mind.
Expectations meet reality. We didn’t expect how long it would take us to get here, it was like unraveling the puzzles in Tartarus in search for the body of Kronos himself. It was long that we thought it
would last forever, but in the end, we always get where we want to be.
Sipocot isn’t much, as a town in the region of the rising sun in the Philippines, located near 2 different seas, with people having normal lives, with very few establishments, we have what we need. We ventured to a place unknown to us, strived to survive there, and learned to find felicity in the simplest of things by living a simple life. An unforgettable journey to the unknown will indeed lead to a prosperous and amazing life that can make a great story.
Soothing Ambience
“’Cause you’re a sky, you’re a sky full of stars, such a heavenly view, You’re such a heavenly view” as the song by Coldplay entitled A Sky Full of Stars expresses love and appreciation for a very significant person. In my part, I sing this song to show my appreciation for the small yet vibrant community I now belong to.
A small village in the big prominent city of Quezon, a community with a population of thousands, Napocor Village is indeed a very promising community. It is a very peculiar place, a village inside a village, a village divided into 2-NIA and NPC. Located near commercial buildings and establishments making it a very accessible place to live in.
Diverse in people, most residential areas are expected to be full of garbage, unlawful, and very few trees. But my community breaks these expectations. A village with various numbers of streets named after large dams, pristine falls, and large power plants, as named after the sources of energies, this community is bound by laws, organized, and eco-friendly.
You can see a park, not just one but many parks full of trees, with garbage collection occurring every other day, with segregation implemented, these prove how the people of this community values our environment. Large churches and chapels of different religions stand firm and glorious on the ground, with people being God-centered and faithful individuals, my community values faith. With many schools close to each other both private and public, my community values education.
But as part of this promising community, what you can truly enjoy is the people. The emotions of people that will leave you captivated and marveled. The kindness that reigns in the heart of the community, the unity formed by the strong bond of the neighborhood, peace is kept a virtue in this community.
You can see the smile of the people as you walk down the road, you can see the laughs and enjoyment of the youth playing in front of their houses. You can see the elderly socializing with each other, remembering their youthful days with their now-old friends. You can see dogs of different breeds walking with their best friends, and you can see people jogging in the dawn and dusk keeping their body fit and strong.
As you walk down the road you can feel the cold clean breeze of the day gushing away all your burdens. At night you can behold the majestic night sky with thousands of stars to entertain your whole personality, with the light of the moon shining brighter than the yellow burning rays of the sun, with the moonlight illuminating the true beauty of the community. To really enjoy the night is by singing a song entitled “All of the Stars” by the famous English singer Ed Sheeran as you tread the dark path towards your home.
I can remember that faithful one day when all my stress and burden was washed away with just a single smile of child. As I walked towards the busy crossing of the street to ride a jeepney to school, I saw a 1-year old baby learning to walk as he was supported by his guardian. As I looked at him with my downed and dejected face, the baby smiled so brightly that all my despair was obliterated by the radiance of his smile, a 1-year old baby was telling me “smile, for the world is full of colors, both dark and light ones, and these colors bring life to our story”. That baby’s smile lit up my life brighter than the sunlight does.
Love that Shapes
“A good teacher is like a candle- it consumes itself to light the way for others”- Anonymous. Teachers are the key to one’s success. Like a car that needs gasoline to run, students need the guidance and knowledge of their teachers to attain their dreams.
A teacher is someone who molds you, someone who makes you pursue your dreams by equipping you with the instruments you need to grasp your fruit. You become a soldier, you become a knight with ideals that make you stand your ground with honor and valor.
My most-cherished teacher gave me the chance to prove myself. I was given the privilege to represent our school in the Communication Arts Festival, oration category. I wasn’t very sure that time if I could do it, if I could meet the standards of the people who rendered me that chance. I tried my best but as a student with limited intellectuality, I needed someone with the experience to guide me. And so I sought the help of the person I knew would contribute to the success I was aiming for.
My mentor led me, like a mother holding the hands of her child as the child learns to walk, my mentor supported me. She inserted in my mind the things that I needed to do, she taught me the proper way of pronouncing words and presenting the whole piece. She taught me the basics up to the crucial fundamentals of oration. She gave me the chance to perfect my ability, she deliberately forced my talent to manifest and she did her best to develop this talent I now hold.
With her endeavors and our persistence, “you will reap what you sow” she said, and so we did. I was the champion of the Oratorical category division level, I was considered the best orator of the whole province of Camarines Sur that year. Why did I triumph? Because of the endless efforts of a person who did her best to shape my success. And on that day, I know that I made her proud because I witnessed the smile of a mentor that will forever be etched in my memory.
“Behind every successful man is a woman behind her” as quoted by Groucho Marx. Behind my success is a woman who has no limit in supporting me. Behind my success is no other that my mother. A mother who has nothing else in mind but the success and welfare of her child, a person who provides unconditional love. She is my greatest teacher, my beloved mentor who was also a champion of oration, the person who inherited to me the talent I now wield. She is the person who supported me ever since I was learning to walk until I am now living her dreams for me, to be successful in life in honor of my parents, and glory to God Almighty.
Guiding Light
“Do not be lazy, but work hard serving the LORD with all your heart”- Romans 12:11. As a person who has been given the privilege to lead a nation, the true nation of our LORD God in these last days, Brother Eduardo V. Manalo, the Executive Minister of the Church of Christ never waste a time on fulfilling his divine duty.
Since the start of his office as Executive Minister of the Church of Christ on September 7, 2009, he has already achieved great things for the Church and for the exaltation of the name of our LORD God. A person ordained to be a minister, a man who was blessed by the last messenger of God in these last days, Brother Felix Y. Manalo on his youthful days, a man who is now the great leader of the nation of God, and the instrument of God for leading His people.
He never lacks in his holy duty. He is a man with fervent endeavors and accurate vision, to lead the people of God the best way he can. True it is that it is not easy being on his shoes but with his persistence and adherence to his obligations, he would risk his life to fulfill his duties to the Church.
From visiting the brethren here in the Philippines, to traveling as far as the sun can reach to see the situations of the brethren and supervise their faith by edifying them with the words of God in the Bible. He would travel through a storm in an airplane, or go through a hail of ice just to see the people he leads, his love and compassion for the brethren is truly great that no other love a human can give can parallel to.
As a human being who also experiences difficulties and problems in this life, he never turns his back on God and his obligation. As a man he also feels sadness but when he sees the brethren zealously attending worship services and complying to the words of God, performing activities that glorify God, you can see straight into his humble eyes that the dolefulness he feels fades, you can see in his eyes the joy of a leader who is succeeding in his responsibility. You can feel how happy he is that by just looking at him will make you burst out in tears because you can see the person who endures all for the sake of your salvation.
Brother Eduardo V. Manalo is truly the most important person of the century. As he continues to lead the nation of God towards success, as he continues to lead the propagation of the words of God, professing the good news to the whole world, he has no other intention in mind but the salvation of all the people. He continues to launch activities that help not just members of the Church of Christ but every living being in this world.
Conforming to God’s words and preaching it to everyone, his role in this world is the greatest of all. He may not be a perfect man but with the promise of God and the prayers of the brethren, he is the best person in this world, equipped with all the traits to fulfill his divine duty God has given him
Members of the Church of Christ are steadfast in their faith, firm in their conviction, and are well-assured that they will attain salvation on judgement day because of the efforts of the Church administration led by Brother Eduardo V. Manalo. Members of this Church differ from other people because we are calm and we believe that we will obtain the promised eternal life when the end comes. We live in serenity and we are at peace because we comply to the words of God, which is to submit to the church administration God has placed for us. “Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God” -Romans 13:1
