lgnore the hype around THE ODYSSEY 2026. Definitely good, maybe not great.

Re-adjust your expectations: Matt Damon is older Jason Bourne, Anne Hathaway brings her face way too close to people, Zendaya is pulling the exact same dreamgirl thing she did in DUNE PART ONE, John Leguizamo is a terrible Alfred and Tom Holland is an even worse Robin (nothing wrong with the acting its just he plays a boring character). Everyone only has one aspect to them - the scheming suitor is only that - theres nothing keeping us particulary engaged or invested. All in all not his best work.

Sidenote: I was surprised to see so many traits from other directors so present in this film. Not that thats a bad thing. Nolan mentioned Del Toro being an inspiration for Cyclops. Then Zendaya's dream-like presence felt so borrowed from Denis Villeneuve. And Agamemnon was done in a Steven Spielberg way where the bad grown up's face isnt shown, therefore he has strong visual cues. (i feel bad for the people who bought the gold-vertebrae-helmet tshirt before watching the movie. Bro, that is not the hero 🙊).

Supergirl felt so much more real than her cousin and she doesnt see the world thru rose-tinted glasses like he does. And on top of that she has an ability this James-Gunn-Superman doesnt hv. To me that means she outranks him
