In 2026, the chicest thing a gay actor can do is never explicitly come out as gay but also make it abundantly clear that he is. Coming out is too modern. Staying closeted is too old fashioned. But this method merges contemporary freedom with Old Hollywood glamour and allure, and it weeds out the dumbest people who truly don’t get it. I call it the Pascal Method.
Taylor Swift does this
no she doesn’t
You clearly don't go here or to queer history and signaling, or both, enough to have this conversation and I'm not going to explain it to you. You could have asked questions, you could have done even a modicum of research. You didn't and you made yourself look ignorant. Goodbye.
Im a nonthreatening feminist boy, come talk to me on Skype! talk to me on skype about your problems as a woman i sympathize i’m taking womens studies. I took women’s studies I know what ‘systematic’ means. Man I’m so horny today. Sorry. I’m sorry. I feel so bad. I just came out and said it. Inappropriate. What do you like to do when you’re horny? One feminist to another. Just normal feminist over here. What do you think of this unlabelled image of my cock? I sent it to you titled “image.PNG”. Are you surprised by its girth? I apologize. How rude of me. I’m so sorry. I really need to get better at this I’m sorry. I’m learning so much. All humans must go through growth and I know that better than anyone, I mean I’m in a women’s studies class right now. Liveblogging my women’s studies class.

have you guys heard about the greenland shark. some crazy shit happening there.
they are sexually mature at ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY YEARS OLD.
their (live!) young gestate for. wait for it. eight to eighteen (??) YEARS. can have up to 10 at a time. good grief.
longest lifespan of any vertebrate, up to five hundred years
toxic flesh
has giant eyes but is usually blind because of a weird little crustacean that's evolved to live on and eat their eyes. this doesn't seem to bother them much.
lives in deep cold water and has the lowest swim speed and tail-beat frequency for its size across all fish species. just generally lives life in extreme slow motion
largest genome of any shark
eats everything including moose and polar bears
ma'am you are delightfully strange and I'm privileged to share a planet with you
this post prompted me to refresh my memory on Greenland Shark Facts and this detail about how they feed goes so hard
just vacuuming up their unsuspecting prey. whole !
Good news good news good news! Recent research suggests the eye parasites do NOT blind them!
Dorota Skowronska-Krawczyk sits in her office, eyes fixed on the computer monitor in front of her. "You see it move its eye," says the UC Ir
I <3 you a normal amount Greenland sharks

although i largely love terror/polar exploration fandom and think it's significantly more sensitive and thoughtful than most historically fixated spaces, there is also an undercurrent of subconscious racism and uncritical buy-in to the great man theory + belief that white men's stories no matter how relatively mundane/unremarkable are the center of everything. but then everyone thinks you're crazy for noticing it

Nightmare || Dorohedoro (Season 2) ep 22
This is a great looping gif because now I just imagine Raiden having like a barrel full of cigarettes next to him he keeps grabbing from and Naomi is making this gigantic pile of cigarettes on the ground in continuation
Naomi keeps giving Raiden cigarettes from her big barrel but he is ungrateful
although i largely love terror/polar exploration fandom and think it's significantly more sensitive and thoughtful than most historically fixated spaces, there is also an undercurrent of subconscious racism and uncritical buy-in to the great man theory + belief that white men's stories no matter how relatively mundane/unremarkable are the center of everything. but then everyone thinks you're crazy for noticing it
You can successfully subvert this undercurrent by assuming they are all transmen.
No, you can't.
Imagining colonisers as queer doesn't stop them from being colonisers.
Giving cishet white male characters a minority status is not an Uno Reverse card you can play to not feel guilty about society placing white men's stories above everyone else's.
I have found Terror fandom much more willing to talk about race and colonialism than some other fandoms I've been in, but that bar is ankle high, and the least we can do is acknowledge the issues rather than try and divert the conversation to subjects that the fandom's (white) majority is more comfortable with.

thinking more about crozier as a leader it occurs to me that he ends up falling into the same flaws as Franklin. Franklin makes the fateful decision to have them keep sailing into the pack because he believes they're close and feels it is the right choice, going against the advice of those who have more actual experience. He's afraid to make the safe call because of how that will affect others' perceptions of him (especially in respect to the larger world); he would rather be liked than be effective and disliked. He's aware he wasn't the first choice for the expedition and feels the need to prove that wrong. He's unwilling to send out a rescue party because he's afraid it will look bad & because he doesn't want to risk the lives of a few even if it means saving everyone. He refuses to believe that they need saving.
Crozier is our voice of reason at the beginning. He's got the polar experience, he's arguing for the cautious choice rather than the bold choice. He doesn't particularly care if he's liked. He decides to send out a rescue mission because it is the smart thing to do without regard to how it will effect his career or chances of promotion. But on the march out, he ends up almost exclusively making decisions based on emotion. He promotes Jopson because he feels indebted to him & cares for him personally rather than looking at who is actually in line for promotion and how promoting his steward will come across the to the crew. He says he'd rather they all stay together even if that means damning everyone to die together rather than giving some a chance to live (or even find help). He's unwilling to make the hard choice to leave some behind because it will make him feel bad even if it gives more of them a chance to live just as Franklin was unwilling to make the hard choice to either send out a rescue party because it put a few lives at risk to save them all. They both end up acting based on what makes them personally feel better about the situation rather than making hard calls for the greater good.
So I guess my overall conclusion is that I asked the wrong question. "Good" was the wrong word. I don't know how intentional this was on the writers' parts; it feels to me that the show feels he is in the right the whole time. However the question should have been "Is Crozier an effective leader?" and the answer, to me, is no.
