A California tech bro is trying to build his data center on one of our greatest natural landmarks in a city where draughts are extremely common and utilities costs are already sky high.

Garden of the gods is a beautiful natural FREE park with hundreds of hiking trails surrounding the iconic red rocks which is adored by residents and visitors alike. It has multiple microbiomes and supports tons of wildlife including bighorn sheep, deer, bears, mountain lions, many species of reptiles and birds, and boasts a lot of ancient historic rock structures. It is an important historic park for both Native Americans and settlers, as demonstrated by Rock Ledge Ranch, a historic homestead site which educates visitors about the populations of the area since humans inhabited the land.

The data center project has already gained initial approval by city council who I imagine have never been outside or looked around I guess, as thats the only reason they wouldn’t immediately see how bad of an idea this is.
