hidden figures vol. 2
Hi, I'm 25 and debating starting male-to-female HRT. However, I'm scared that HRT won't help me at all. It seems like HRT does so little after puberty, especially by the time one gets in their 20s. I'm really scared that I'll just end up being someone in a male body, but with breasts. Is there anything you can say to someone having this fear? Thank you, and sorry, I suspect this is a silly question.
Actually, the claim that HRT doesn’t do much after puberty is a myth. I started when I was 31 years old and now I’m 35. =)
It’s never too late to transition!
Yeah, anon, have you seen my timeline? I started at 29.
It’s never too late.
Seriously, I transitioned at 39 and I’m 41 now. Hormones are magic whatever your age and while some things stay, many things change and it’s been totally worth it for me.
OMG!!! I love seeing posts like this. The hope it inspires. especially in girls like me, is unprecedented. Thank you!
Hope
I felt the same way before I started transitioning and especially because I have a fair masculine build. But you know what I’ve learned from my experience so far? Fuck it! There is always hope and you could end up surprising yourself with the results.
@mistresskabooms
these posts save lives. thank u to the people that are willing to post before and after pics cuz i sure as hell ain’t brave enough to do that
Congrats to all these beautiful people!!!

Finally a dive back into the universe of Mass Effect! This is the first episode in my play through of the much anticipated sequel to the beloved as Sci-Fi RPG trilogy.
“When I started my musical career, I was a maid,” she told the audience. “I used to clean houses. My parents, my mother was a proud janitor. My stepfather, who raised me like his very own, worked at the post office and my father was a trash man — they all wore uniforms. And that’s why I stand here today in my black and white and I wear my uniform to honor them.”
im in awe
So.
The Sound of Silence is probably one of my favorite songs ever. When speaking of the “true” Simon and Garfunkel version (as opposed to the version where they added background music to in post to make it more “pop radio”), it’s a song that gives me chills.
Disturbed is not a band that I really enjoy. I remember in college, my (now) wife gave me a copy of a Disturbed CD, because she had two for some reason. I tried to listen to it, I really did. Didn’t do anything for me.
But this? Holy fuck, this is stunning. This is amazing.
This gives me chills.
Holy shit, you have to listen to the whole sing.
I have chills.
Holy SHIT.
This is the band who did “Down With The Sickness”????
UM?????
If you stop before three minutes you’re missing the truly mind-blowing bit
I absolutely love Disturbed but had fallen out of listening to them, so when I found out about this cover I was blown away. I remember seeing them live when they first hit it big and they have always had such a powerful presence this song just really highlights it.

So very accurate
On Lefou being gay
Honestly the biggest problem I have with their choice of incorporating gay characters is not making Lumière and Cogsworth hella gay for each other. That was my OTP since I was like 7
I'm still trying to figure out what people's issue is. Little kid me when Beauty and the Beast came out just assumed Lefou liked Gaston that way but knew Gaston was into Belle so didn't care. I had very mature thought processes when I was a kid, I was introduced to sex, sexuality, and romantic relationship concepts really young. Lumière would have to be bi or poly as he was constantly chasing the feather duster, Cogsworth I can see he came off very undefined, perhaps even asexual looking back with the knowledge I have now.
This photo always cheers me up a bit. It’s a front-page article from 1955 about Christine Jorgensen, one of the first women to have sex-reassignment surgery.
Since the text is a bit small and I couldn’t find a larger copy, here’s what the small blurb says:
A World of a Difference
George W. Jorgensen, Jr., son of a Bronx carpenter, served in the Army for two years and was given honorable discharge in 1946. Now George is no more. After six operations, Jorgensen’s sex has been changed and today she is a striking woman, working as a photographer in Denmark. Parents were informed of the big change in a letter Christine (that’s her new name) sent to them recently.
This article is 58 years old, and it’s more respectful of Christine’s pronoun choices and name than some publications are today. It makes me happy to see a newspaper be respectful of a trans person’s choice of name and pronouns like that :3
Say it again for the haters in the back who want to keep pretending that trans people, or even treating trans people with respect is even remotely anything new. 😎
@trans-droid
And this just made me look her up, what an inspiring figure.
Girls fuck the same dick 50 times it doesn’t matter. Girls fuck 50 different dicks and their vagina has stretched into a black hole. Fuckboy logic.

Crazy.. to think about.
I always think about this for Barack Obama too. Like his parents had an illegal relationship. Loving v Virginia was in 1967. Obama was born in 1961.
People really don’t seem to grasp how recent this was.
It's important to remember that things things were less than a lifetime ago.
