me about a show i really like: the writers are so fucking stupid
i'll be honest it gets kind of annoying when ppls immediate canned response to an m/f ship is "she deserves better" because over half the people who say that then proceed to hyperfocus on some yaoi with the man involved and never give the woman a second glance. forgive me but i think she deserves better than being girlbossed off screen and never mentioned again
*feministly*: women should never be centered in stories because Bad Stuff™ might happen to them
What if I start a trend called "No one nuts November" where everyone writes about their favorite characters having bad sex that sucks and isn't fun.
Okay so I made a list of 30 (well, 29 actually) prompts I am releasing into the wild. The point of this is that at least one of the participants are not having a good time.
It has 30 prompts for November but feel free to write and post whenever, but please add the tag #No one nuts November or #NoonenutsNovember wherever you post. You do not have to @ or credit this blog if you use any of these prompts.

I love it when a post-whump recovery arc is fluffy but realistic. Like, it's cosy and the whumpee has a gentle support system, but that doesn't stop them from exhibiting the messy and unpalatable symptoms of their trauma. That's my favourite style of recovery arc

Do you have any idea how important it is to me that Duke Mahad dal Freid not only claimed Prince Chid as his son and heir despite knowing there was a 99.9% chance that Allen was Chid's biological father, but when Allen tries to confess to Millerna that Chid is likely his, the Duke _vehemently_ interjects and declares Chid is his.
Because in every way that matters, Chid IS his son. Not just his heir, not just a succesor to the throne, not just his wife's child, none of those tropes at work. Chid is HIS. SON.
Chid has been told all his life about the honourable, brave Knight of Caeli, and greatly admires the Allen of his stories. Kid's a goddamn miniature clone. It is undeniable that Marlene loved Allen, and wanted Chid to know about the man she loved, the biological father of her only child.
But Mahad is the one who helped raise Chid. Mahad is likely the one who taught him about the duchy, the allied kingdoms, policy, diplomacy. But so too is Mahad the one who Chid would have shared his dinners with, would have been by Marlene's side (as she did come to love him, as he loved her) through Chid's first steps, his first words, learning to laugh, to read, to write, to hear stories of Atlantis.
Chid may admire the Knight, but he loved his REAL father.
Something about the bastardization of the story time and time again proves that nobody in power really cares about the people who would resonate with King’s Carrie White. A girl so ugly and repulsive she’s been removed from her own story. The societal need for women and girls to be constantly perceived as attractive is what fuels a fair amount of her torment in the book, but that person isn’t even allowed to exist on the screen. We cannot empathize with her; it isn’t allowed. It’s fascinating to me.
save me loyal to the death second in command characters. save me. love you loyal second in command characters that are forced to turn against their leader. save me. loyalty
