I reblogged this yesterday, but I want to reblog it again. Diabetic ketoacidosis turns your blood acidic and will essentially burn you from the inside out.
The stories you hear of people dying from rationing, this is what happens to their body.
Affordable insulin isnât just a right, itâs a necessity.
No one should have to die like that when itâs preventable with access to proper medication.
getting up on my soapbox for a moment. i find it laughable that nearly every time someone says they donât like rap they cite hamilton and k-pop as the only rap they can tolerate. because everything else is just so violent and full of blatant consumerism. first off. so is k-pop. secondly. idk how to tell you the founding fathers were some of the most violent people around (coming from a black american descentant of slaves who is most likely related to thomas jefferson. shouldnât have to explain the relevance here). thirdly. hamilton and k-pop both reference and interpolate rap. so idk what to tell you babes. you do like rap. you just donât like black people. say it with your full chest next time.
adding my tags actually because these conversations do go hand and hand.
do me a lil favor for black history month and reblog this instead of just liking it. please.
Rachel Coates as Alex in Pearl Next Door Episode 6
Do yâall know where the phrase âeat the richâ comes from or do you just repeat it cause you heard it elsewhere?
Itâs not a bad thing, I just saw someone say âwe never said who would eat the richâ and realized a lot of yâall might not have heard the full quote
Itâs from Rousseau and itâs âWhen the people shall have nothing more to eat, they will eat the rich"
And, well, thereâs a lot of people with nothing to eatâŠ
The poor cried,
"We are starving. There is no more bread, and we have nothing to eat."
The rich man said,
"Not my problem you don't work for your bread,"
as if he did not snatch away the grain by his own greedy hands and create filling bread for his own overflowing mouth.
The poor cried,
"We are dying. There is no more medicine, and we're all ill."
The rich man said,
"Not my problem you don't take care of yourselves,"
as if he did not buy all the medicine and raise prices so high
the gods themselves would not
be able to reach.
The poor people
stopped crying,
and the rich man was satisfied...
Until they came knocking at his door one night;
their faces were sunken,
their flesh decaying,
their eyes sightless.
They were monsters
of the rich man's
own making.
As they devoured his flesh,
the rich man cried,
"Please, spare me!"
The ravenous zombies said,
"Not our fault
you fattened yourself
for slaughter."
Holy fucking shit

Skylar Brandt was supposed to debut as Aurora today but since the season was canceled she debuted her own Rose Adagio.
Ok this is SO COOL because the Rose Adagio is a partnered danceâAurora does exactly whatâs shown in the video, but with the prince there rotating her and holding her waist, both for the attitude balance and the pirouettes. That wobbling you see while she turns? Thatâs not because sheâs off balance (you could literally never do this without absolutely pinpoint perfect balance), thatâs from the subtle movement of her foot to rotate herself. She is all the way en pointe, rotating sheerly by veeeery slightly adjusting her foot. You may be looking at this going âI donât know much about ballet, but this looks pretty amazing.â I know ballet, and let me tell you, this is 100%, absolutely, INSANELY difficult, impressive, and fucking radical. Amazing doesnât even begin to describe it.
ANYONE ELSE REMINDED OF PRINCESS TUTU?!?!
OH GOOD ITâS NOT JUST ME.
https://youtu.be/PKKaHJ3Hmng
Excellent, it has subtitles.
For anybody wondering just how incredible Skylarâs ability is, the character in this clip whoâs dancing a pas de deux alone is facing off against a prima ballerinaâa masterâwhoâs also benefiting from magical enhancement. AND EVEN SHE THINKS IT CANâT BE DONE. This show was made with a ton of research and input from real ballerinas and ballet teachers; much of what you see in it, from a technical perspective, is completely accurate, including how the steps are done and how positions are held. So when Kraehe says âshe couldnât be doing that,â thatâs the opinion of actual dance professionals. What Princess Tutu is doingâwhich is what Skylar does in the first videoâis supposed to be impossible.
ITâS SUPPOSED TO BE IMPOSSIBLE.
Tell a human something is impossible and what you get back is CHALLENGE ACCEPTED
âI started out as a writer and a director. I started acting because I wanted to know how to relate to the actors. When people ask me what I do, I donât really say that Iâm an actor, because actors often wait for someone to give them roles.â

three internet trends i will (regrettably) probably never grow out of:
âą typing in a cresCENDO TO EXPRESS EXCITEMENT âą âŠâŠâŠâŠ..unnecessarilyâŠâŠ. longâŠâŠâŠ.. ellipsisâ âą puttinfh a typo in eveyr other word to shwo u dont really give a fukc but u actually do
also unnecessary!!!! punctuation marks??????? likeâŠâŠ ??? what is going on here????? i!! am!!! so!!! excited!!!!

personally I enjoy Random Capitalisation to show things are Very Important
can we also talk about starting a sentence and then kind of justÂ
stating something reblog if you agree
dude this isnât even a collection of memes, this is a demonstration of internet grammar⊠anyone who says that when you type and communicate on the internet you lose too much inflection to get the real meaning just doesnât understand internet syntax. the evolution of language in action.

I want a teacher to give their students an assignment to intentionally write this way regarding a subject they feel strong about in order to see if this is something you can do intentionally or if its subconscious.
theres also the no punctuation or capitalization thing that reads very differently than how itd be if there was
*types in stars to show an action*
theres also âš this âš because âš why the fuck not âš
going âoofâ whenever someone says something thatâs bad and you cant express correct feelings
Arguable this is also a medium that while not depending upon the typed word versus the hand written it certainly leans heavily on the manner with which it came to be. A handwritten note could look accidental and lose impact whereas the typed out medium has very precise and deliberate prose.
I hate the fact that I do about half of these unapologetically
When you have no other words-
But you wanna finish your sentence.
There are easily several linguistics dissertations that could be written about EXACTLY THIS.
I think we need to apply this to older movies as well:
The homophobic gag in that rom com,
the racist side character in that coming of age story,
donât just brush it of as a product of the time, acknowledge that it was bad then and remains a terrible aspect of the film today
[ID: a response to the tweet âWhatâs your hottest literature take?â (By @cxcope). The reply is from liv / @boredromantic and says:
â young womenâs criticism of the (violent) misogyny in âclassicâ lit should be taken 100% seriously. if a teen girl says the rapey overtones of 1984 ruin the whole book for her, sheâs not less intellectual. this goes double for girls refusing to read classics that are misogynisticâ]

will help, but is not necessary: SMELLS! lavender and something strong. Can be coffee, cinnamon, something less white safely contained (I know youâre badass, donât hurt yourself), really strong mint, a mothball, a cigarette, whatever! Something thatâs There. Can be sprigs, dried herbs in a satchel, bit of cloth with essential oils on it, or a dryer sheet, whatever, you can do this. You are a badass witch, and this, this is your dwelling, this is where you are.Â

THIS ONE FUCKING WORKS. REBLOG IT.

Hereâs the tweet I got it from
Found these when going through the notes, so unashamedly reblogging.
Hwasa, Ahn Hyejin, Maria or however you call her, is an amazing, beautiful and stunning woman and this simple yet strong video shows exactly everything she stands for. Strength, beauty and simplicity.
Why strength? Because in all of these years I have been into the K-Pop fandom, I know that Mamamoo, especially Hyejin, has suffered so much from hate. And I don't talk about criticism, I talk about brutally, disgusting, heartless hate. A weak person wouldn't survive this. A weak person now would be devastated.
Hyejin suffered more than half of her life from constantly bullying and mistreatment.
It never stopped since she decided to follow her dreams but did she ever stopped following her dreams? No, because she is a fighter. Because she has strength, so so much strength that I can't believe that she's still a human. She's one of my biggest role model and I think everyone, regardless of what you think about her, should respect this insanely strong woman.
And I don't need to talk about why she is beautiful, right?
She is beautiful because she thinks she's beautiful. Because she finally found a way of accepting herself after people always told her to loose weight, to dress properly, to get a lighter tan, to let her hair grow long and so on...
Hyejin set her own beauty standards. Not only her own because with that, she slowly changes the whole Korean beauty standards, more and more people are following her philosophy and I think that's so incredible inspiring...
And Hyejin isn't only visually spoken a beauty. Her kind heart and warming soul also shows the beauty inside of her. Whether she writes reassuring letters to suffering fans or secretly supports charitable foundations for children in need, all her actions are kind, humble, heartwarming and inspiring. She was a big help for Wheein during her darkest times of depression, she always tries to make her family, friends and members proud and she unconditionally shows her love and admiration towards us, her fans and supporters. Hyejin is, for someone who gets so much hate, the most lovely, friendly and down-to-earth celebrity you can imagine.
Last but not least, simplicity.
Just look at this video. It's just about her, walking around, singing and telling us her story.
Again, really simple, right?
Ahn Hyejin is, just like everyone of us, a human. Maybe some people forget it, sometimes. Whenever there is someone calling her ugly, telling her to die or even worse things... In the end, she's still a human being. A lot of us saw her way of living, a lot of us know that her only wish was to become a singer who can express herself. And she did it, still does it every time. She reminds us with every song, with every performance.
I'm not the best at expressing my thoughts in words, especially when I don't use my native language. But I think, hope, that my message reaches a few people. I hope it even reaches those people who could need a change of heart and mind.
Love those people who love the most and hate those who hate the most.
