Jamie Fraser + Highland sword dancing.
letās say lena is compelled in court to reveal karaās identity, would lena be able to avoid giving that testimony if they were letās say, wife and wife? and if so whereās the fake marriage fic please
Parts 1-3
Part 4 of 7
āWhoās the groom?ā Kara looks up from the onion sheās chopping with a frown. āWhat do you mean? No one has to be the groom; itās a same sex marriage.ā
Clark gestures to the paperwork spread out across the kitchen table. āYou said you wanted to keep this as close to Kryptonian tradition as we could, and that means respecting the naming ceremony, which means I have to file paperwork with the guild, which meansā¦ā
āOh.ā Kara puffs out her cheeks for a moment while she thinks about it. āSomebody has to be the groom.ā
Sam and Lena have gone out for a morning walk, ostensibly because Lena isnāt feeling well and needs some fresh air, but it hasnāt escaped Karaās notice that the pair of them have been spending secretive moments together here and there wherever they can find them. It has been leaving Kara with a feeling of restless unease, but in this case itās also a blessing, because Kara doesnāt want to ask Lena the Kryptonian version of āso whoās supposed to be the man in this relationshipā if she can help it. Itās just for paperwork, she tells herself. It doesnāt matter to Lena anyway.
āIt could be Lena,ā Clark suggests, āBecause she has a higher status on Earth - donāt look at me like that, she could buy your apartment building with her pocket change - or it could be you because youāre the higher ranking member of Kryptonian society.ā
āUhm, also on Earth Iām literally a superhero.ā
Clark waves a dismissive hand and then chuckles and ducks as she chucks a piece of onion at him across the room.
āOkay,ā he says. āOkay. You can be the groom. So your hand goes on top then, and she has to-ā
āPresent the gift. I know. I lived on Krypton for longer than youāve spent on Argo.ā
Clark makes a face. The fact that Kara remembers Krypton and Clark doesnāt is sometimes a point of tension between them, especially when Clarkās excitement over Argo leads him to explain things to Kara that have been common knowledge to her for as long as she can remember.
āSorry,ā he says. And then, āSo Lena Zor-El.ā
Kara pauses again in her chopping. At this rate Sam and Lena are going to get back from their walk and this same damn onion is going to be on the cutting board. āSheās not marrying my father,ā Kara says. She gestures with the knife. āYou wouldnāt give Lois your fatherās name.ā
āI know,ā Clark says, āBut Iām a-ā
Kara gestures with the knife again. āBe very careful how you finish that sentence.ā
Clarkās jaw closes with a snap.
And itās not his fault, really. Itās not his fault that Krypton has never recognized a same sex marriage as far as anyone knows, or that the naming convention is patriarchal, or that Kara is more stubborn than stone when she wants to be. But it is certainly his problem.
āKara-El doesnāt exactly roll off the tongue,ā he points out, echoing Karaās knife gestures with his pen. āAnd it will probably reveal your identity the second any on on Earth looks carefully at your paperwork.ā
Kara scrunches up her nose. āFine. I will concede that point.ā
āSo Zor-El it is,ā Clark says, leaning forward to fill in the form.
Kara points the knife at him and he stops with a resigned sigh, hand hovering just above the paper. āKar-El,ā she says. āJust drop the āaā and it works fine.ā
āLena Kar-El,ā Clark repeats. Kara ignores the hair rising on the back of her neck at the sound of it. There is something about the idea of Lena bearing her name that makes Kara feel, well, something. Sheās at a rare loss for words even as Clark continues to speak. āThat sounds-ā
But Lena chooses that moment to push through the back door of the cabin, shedding her jacket as she goes. Sam, lingering just inside the door to kick off her shoes, studies Clark and Kara with curious eyes.
āLena Kar-El?ā Sam asks.
Lena opens her mouth a little, cocks her head to one side, fixes Kara with a thoughtful expression. āIs that what weāre going with?ā
Kara fumbles for a smooth reply and comes up with anything but. āItās- I mean we donāt- I mean if you donāt-ā
āI like it,ā Lena says at last. āLena Kar-El.ā She moves past Kara to wash her hands in the kitchen sink and then reaches across her for the towel tossed carelessly beside the cutting board. Half of Kara is wondering why Lena didnāt use the towel hung over the sink for precisely that purpose. The other half of her is frozen in place by Lenaās proximity, by the heat of her as her arm brushes Karaās. And then all of Kara is frozen when Lena leans up and presses a delicate kiss to her cheek.
āIām going to make coffee,ā Lena announces. āDoes anyone not want any? Kara, darling, are you planning to chop that onion or just stare it?ā
Itās not the onion Kara is staring at. Perhaps itās Karaās imagination, but Lena doesnāt seem to mind.
Jewish People Problem #20
When you canāt find a single book with a Jewish protagonist that isnāt about the holocaust
I actually read a really nice novel that had decent Jewish representation when I was in college and its story was about a murder mystery. Due to how my memory works, I lost the book and I forgot the title :( :( :(
okay I wrote a really long thing and my phone deleted it so here is take 2 of my MASTERPOST OF NON-HOLOCAUST-CENTRIC JEWISH MCās:
Historical Fiction
āAll Other Nightsā by Dara Horn - Jewish spy for the union in the civil war
āShylockās Daughterā by Marjam Pressler - retelling of the Merchant of Venice with a sympathetic Shylock and a historically accurate look at the Ashkenazi AND Sephardic Jewish community in 16th century Italy
āThe Chosenā by Chaim Potok - Hassidic + Modern Orthodox Jewish boys āfriendshipā (lbr we all ship it)Ā in 1945-1948 NYC
āMy Name is Asher Levā by Chaim Potok - ultra-orthodox Jewish boy takes up art, paints a crucifixion scene, and sh*t hits the fan
āThe Museum of Extraordinary Thingsā - Jewish photographer + (non-Jewish) daughter of a sideshow owner meet and fall in love in turn of the century Brooklyn, and also a subplot about the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire
āEscape from Egyptā by Sonia Levitin - retelling of the Passover story
āDaniel Derondaā by George Eliot - itās like Jane Austen. With Jews! (And while everything is not all hunky-dory, itās also not the antisemitic travesty Iāve come to expect from 19th century gentile writers).
Contemporary
āHacking Harvardā by Robin Wasserman - 3 nerds take on a bet to get a slacker/stoner into Harvard (also a really nice critique of the college admissions process tbh)
āThe Pactā by Jodi Picoult - (suicide tw) A tragedy hits 2 families. The novel centers on a trial and flashbacks to the event in question.Ā
āSomeone to Run Withā by David Grossman - set on the streets of Jerusalem, a boy tries to return a lost dog to its owner, a girl who has run away from home in search of her brother (this is the English translation, obviously, but if you can read novels in Hebrew I highly recommend reading the original, ×ש×× ×ר×ׄ ×××Ŗ×)
Urban Fantasy/Fantasy/SciFi
āThe Mediatorā series by Meg Cabot - teenaged girl starts seeing ghosts / YA romance (although the fact that the MC is Jewish is not even remotely relevant to the plot, it is mentioned outright several times which is more than most books)
āThe Cureā by Sonia Levitin - futuristic dystopian society tries to cure one young manās appreciation of music by sending him to a Jewish shtetl in 13th century Poland (fair warning for dystopian fans, though, the middle 2/3rds reads like historical fiction, so.)
Childrenās (Middle Grade) Books
āAll of a Kind Familyā by Sydney Taylor - the classicĀ ā1920s NYC Jewish familyā
āDave at Nightā by Gail Carson Levine - boy sneaks out of an orphanage in early 20th century NYC
āWitnessā by Karen Taylor Hesse - told in free verse, the KKK visits a small town Ā (Iām including it because itās not a Holocaust book, and itās really good,Ā but it still might Ā willĀ set off your antisemitism sensors so fair warning)
āAre You There God? Itās Me, Margaret.ā by Judy Blume - Classic. (Also, takes on an interfaith family in a really interesting and nuanced way!)
āSamir and Yonatanā by Daniella Carmi - two boys (one Israeli, one Palestinian) end up in the same hospital and learn that they have more in common than they thought
Plays
āAngels in Americaā by Harold Kushner - I canāt even begin to describe this one just google it. (or: Jewish and Mormon gay people in NYC during the AIDS epidemic, and also angels)
āThirteen: The Musicalā by Dan Elish and Robert Horn, music and lyrics by Jason Robert Brown - Jewish boyās parents get divorced and he moves from NYC to Appleton, Indiana right before his Bar Mitzvah
Also for childrenās books: Rebecca in the American Girl historical collection is a Russian Jewish immigrant.
Also for weird epic romances, I remember Cynthia Freeman having a lot of Jewish protagonists. Ā One of her books (Illusions of Love) slightly discusses the Holocaust but it is from the perspective of an American Jewish character who served in World War II and itās not presented as *the* thing that defines him. Ā (Most of that book is a love triangle between this character, the Nice Jewish Girl his parents want him to marry, and an Irish-Catholic woman from a poor background who works her way into an advertising career.)
I havenāt read them [yet? to-read list miles long, concentration about an inch long] but if youāre down with indie-pub check out @shiraglassman who authors a series of fantasy novels featuring f/f couples. Iāll bet she knows more novels t add to the list too!
(sorry hope itās cool i @āed you ms glassman)
It is definitely cool! I actually didnāt get the @ notification for some reason but I found this post just poking around Jumblr and then checked the notes to see what people were saying on it. I doĀ have books to add to this list; not just my ownāas you said, fluffy f/f-focused fantasy starring Mostly Jewsābut also:
Miss Jacobsonās Journey by Carola Dunn (review) - Regency-era spy romance about escaping from France and getting back to England. Hero and heroine are both Jewish and although theyāre Ashkies, it has Sephardic rep as well
The Golem and the Jinni by Helene Wecker (review) - 1900ā²s fantasy set in the immigrant communities of NYC. Beautiful epic drama about friendship.
ā¦and wonderful graphic novels like The Rabbiās Cat, the Rabbi Harvey books (our legends told as if they were set in the American Wild West), and the Mirka books (fantasy starring an Orthodox pre-teen girl.)
The YA LGBT contemporaries Gone Gone GoneĀ by Hannah Moskowitz and My Year ZeroĀ by Rachel Gold have Jewish MCās. And non-LGBT but YA about Orthodox teenager is Playing with MatchesĀ by Suri Rosen.
By the way, @dappercat, your concentration may have an easier time with the standalone short stories in my universe than my full-length novels: Tales from Perach. They range from 900 to 9000 words and 6 of the 7 of them have Jewish MCās.
The Lions of Al-Rassan by Guy Gavriel Kay - very thinly-veiled account of life in the waning days of Golden Age Spain, with adventures and political intrigue, starring a Jew, Muslim, and Christian
Gentlemen of the Road by Michael Chabon - A pair of 10th century Jewish mercenaries (who are almost certainly a couple) go on a quest to return the kidnapped prince of Khazaria to his empire.
(I want to echo the recommendation of The Rabbiās Cat, and of Shira Glassmanās Mangoverse stories, which are soĀ lovely)
I havenāt read it yet but Iām desperately trying to get my hands on an audiobook ofĀ āHe, She and Itā by Marge Piercy
Spinning Silver by Naomi Novik: MC is a Jewish moneylender in fantasy Russia. Itās a retelling of a couple of fairy tales, including a loose adaptation of Rumpelstiltskin. It was nominated for a Hugo last year and I love it so much!
Lighting the Flames by Sarah Wendell: contemporary romance novella. I havenāt read it yet, but it is a Hanukkah friends to lovers romance by the author who runs the Smart Bitches Trashy Books website.
Sick Kids in Love by Hannah Moskowitz: Two teens with very different chronic illnessesāand different outlooks on dating while sickā fall in love. (Neither of them die, and thatās not a spoiler!) One of the teens is Jewish.
Conventionally Yours by Annabeth Albert: Contemporary mlm romance with a haters-to-lovers trope who go on a cross-country road trip for their Critical Roll-like show. One of the protagonists is Jewish.
Yes No Maybe So by Becky Albertalli and Aisha Saeed: YA rom-com where one of the characters is Jewish and the other is Muslim. They meet and work on a local political campaign together.
What if Itās Us by Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera: YA mlm rom-com where, after a chance and brief meet-cute the two protagonist (one of whom is Jewish), have to find one another in the massive-ness that is NYC. Then the first date is No Good, so they have to try again. Will this couple make it when the universe seems to be working against them?
Little and Lion by Brandy Colbert: YA realistic fiction that focuses mainly on the blended familyās relationships, specifically between the brother and sister. Some of the characters are converted Jews.Ā
Itās a Whole Spiel: Love, Latkes, and Other Jewish Stories by various authors:Ā From stories of confronting their relationships with Judaism to rom-coms with a side of bagels and lox, Itās a Whole Spiel features one story after another that says yes, we are Jewish, but we are also queer, and disabled, and creative, and political, and adventurous, and anything we want to be.
Obviously I couldnāt put all of my favorites into a single list: it would be a mile long if I had all the time in the world. So, hereās another rec list for Bitty and Jack!
Iāve compiled some of what I consider excellent fanfics that feature this pairing although it does not contain all of my recommendations. They are listed in no particular order. I plan on creating more recommendation lists down the line, especially for other pairings in this fandom. You can find other fic recs tagged in my blog. The previous recommendation list for this pairing can be found here.
As a reminder, please make sure to check the tags and any warnings before reading. Take care of yourself!

Okay I just read your Samwell slam poetry headcanon with all the team showing up and cheering, and I love the idea of all the Samwell poets getting really into it? Like, it can be scary reading out your work, and the level of positive feedback is reassuring. So it becomes a local tradition
Okay, what we really need here is like a SUPER Outsider POV fic starring a freshmen hockey player joining the Samwell team but like⦠12 years after Bitty et al. have left.Ā
And this new player, letās call him Penzie for reasons unknown, is trying to learn all the rules of college hockey so he can fit in and be his best (as one does) and he keeps thinking he has a handle on it and then there keep being increasingly weird traditions that just pop upĀ as if seemingly out of nowhere.
Penzie arrives for a players-only meeting taking place at 8PM on a Thursday night only to find they are actually going to cheer loudly and aggressively at a poetry slam?? He gets a stern talking to from the captains when he doesnāt stand and do the wave after one ocean-themed poem is finished. No one can tell him why the hockey team does this??
The hockey team has an illegal intramural football team. Again, no explanation. But there is an expectation that he find a position best suited to his abilities and come to practice once a week. The whole team wears traditionally female clothes for a week in the springĀ āfor luckā. There is a mandatory off season trip to the aquarium. Everyone buys matching t-shirts to wear to it. If possible, the t-shirts feature some kind of shark. They all insist on walking to Annies for coffee even though there is a Starbucks much closer to the Haus. And, if you wanted to buy local, Annie has a second location in the opposite direction that might be a bit closer tooā¦
And speaking of the Haus⦠The Haus is particularly full of old, random traditions. There is a taped off box area on the ground that you are not allowed to step in even though it means you have to do a weird little jump right at the bottom of the stairs. Beer is only allowed in the downstairs fridge even though there is plenty of room in the one in the kitchen. The oven is called Betsy. All the dish towels have either pies or bunnies on them and when Penzie tries to buy plain blue ones, he gets yelled at and then forced to hand=stitch bunnies into them. For some reasons ducks are also acceptable??
The smallest person on the team is not allowed to sit on the couch directly, only on a blanket on the couch. There is an x-box controller that can only be used if you are left-handed. There are 14 different Nativity scenes scattered throughout the Haus year round even though no one is particularly religious. They still follow an old tub juice recipe that has been carved into the wall of the hallway. It is a yearly tradition to repaint one of the walls of the living room. No one remembers who put up the Pink Floyd poster but rumor if you take it down you break your leg the next game so no one dares.Ā
Even on the ice, the team is just plain weird. The only two options for stick tape are rainbow or pink. And he would think itās just hazing except⦠well, everyone does the stick tape thing and, though, it is required that all members of the hockey team be able to land at least one ice dancing jump by the time they finish freshmen year, rumor also has it that the seniors have a Senior-Night in which they perform full ice dancing routines. And Penzie would say that thatās a lie except⦠well, heās pretty sure he caught Yorky practicing spins the other day at practiceā¦
Basically, letās all pour one out for Penzie, the most confused little tadpole. Heās so lost and so confused and god bless him, he is going to be an amazing captain one day. Heās even going to win the seniors-only ice dancing competition.Ā
i am shook to my goddamn CORE. THIS IS THE FUNNIEST THING I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY ENTIRE LIFE
peak LGBT ally is robert pattinson and taylor lautner kissing each other so that kristen stewart didnāt have to be straight live on TV
OKAY BUT LOOK AT HER FACE! LOOK AT HOW HAPPY SHE IS THAT HES NOT MAKING HER GO THROUGH WITH WHAT THE PEOPLE WANT
The movies might have sucked, but the actors have redeeming qualities
every single thing robert pattinson ever does is intentionally genetically engineered to make stephenie meyerās mormon blood boil hot enough for her to feel the constant neverending pain he experienced having to make and promote her movies for all those years. this is more than lgbt allyship. this is revenge.
SORRY GIRLS
How hard could it be? Part 11
Start from the beginning
Part 10
Bitty made himself work on his thesis before answering email or doing any work on the vlog.
Which meant he looked up other baking videos on YouTube to see how they compared to his and if he could steal any ideas. Then he started looking up hockey videos, and he saw Jack Zimmermann score some sweet goals and give some really awkward interviews.
Then again, did it matter that much what Jack Zimmermann said when he was in the locker room after a game, still sweaty and pink-faced with nothing on his top half but a skin-tight Under Armor shirt?
It probably wasnāt the same Jack Zimmermann anyway.

I need more of the moment where Jamie learns of Breanna's rape. What he is thinking and going through that night as sleep eludes him. Please and thank you!
Set immediately after 05x10 āMercy Shall Follow Meā ā and in a universe where the events of 02x12 āThe Hail Maryā more closely followed the plot of āDragonfly in Amberā
Ā There hadnāt been very much conversation these past few days, traveling back home to the Ridge.
Ā Mama and Da knew what she and Roger had been up to, once Bonnet had been staked to drown. Da had given her a look ā whether it was pride or sorrow, she couldnāt tell ā and had turned away with Mama, to make stops at the glassblowerās and the blacksmith to retrieve the new components for Mamaās syringes.
Ā Mama and Da and Ian hadnāt said anything when she and Roger had returned in mid-afternoon. As unusual as it was for them to travel even a short distance before nightfall, all of them longed desperately to leave Wilmington behind.
Ā So they had, making camp two hours outside of the town that night. Communicating with each other only enough to exchange the basics for food and shelter, everyone lost in their own thoughts. Normally they would all settle close around the campfire, but that first night Ian had announced he would take watch, and as Mama and Da drifted off into the trees, so had she and Roger, in the opposite direction.
Ā They comforted each other that night, as best as they could beneath the stars. The simple joy of holding each other, feeling so much reliefā¦it was indescribable.
Ā It was over.
Ā But there was still so much to be said.
Ā Five days into the journey home, as they made camp after another dayās long ride, she didnāt realize how lost she was in her thoughts until her Daās gentle hand settled on her shoulder.
Ā Startled, she blinked up at him. He smiled, slinging the rifle over his shoulder.
Ā āYer Mam has asked me to find our supper. Come wiā me, a leannan?ā
Ā He reached out one big, strong, capable hand. She took it, following him away from the campsite ā past Roger and Ian pitching their tents, and Mama building a fire.
Ā āWe wonāt be long,ā Da said, perhaps a bit too loudly.
Ā Roger looked up, sharing a quick smile. Handed her the rifle that hadnāt left her side since Wilmington. Then returned to his work.
Ā Da didnāt speak for a long while, padding quietly through the forest. But finally he did, coming to a stop and resting on a large rock.
Ā āJust a few weeks before Culloden, yer Mam was called to tend to a sick man. We had kent him during our time in Paris.ā He sighed. āAlexander Randall. Jack Randallās younger, more fragile younger brother.ā
Ā Brianna wanted desperately to lay her hand on his ā but something about his demeanor told her not to.
Ā āI went wiā her, of course, to make sure she was safe. Neither of us expected Jack Randall to pay his brother a visit.ā
Ā His hand ā lined with the scars that she knew were the legacy of her motherās first orthopedic surgery, done in haste after Daās hand had been all but destroyed ā clenched into a fist on his knee.
Ā āI was obliged to spend time wiā him, that day and on subsequent days. I realized that the only love he ever felt in his miserable life was for his brother. He ā he became soft around him. More human.ā
Ā She swallowed. āAnd that confused you.ā
Ā He nodded. āGod help me, I gave him kindness, out of respect for his brother. It killed me that I could feel compassion for him, having lost my brother when I was a lad. Even though I wanted nothing more than to kill him. Avenge myself.ā
Ā She settled the butt of the rifle on the ground between her legs. āAnd you hated yourself more for feeling that kindness.ā
Ā āHe didna deserve kindness. But seeing him that way ā it helped me perhaps understand a wee bit, how he came to be the way he was. It ā it didnae change my desire to hurt him. But it did make me think about it.ā
Ā āShades of gray,ā she mused.
Ā āAye.ā
Ā She turned to face him. āKilling him felt good, Da.ā
Ā He smiled sadly. āI know. It did.ā
Ā āIt doesnāt change what happened to me. But I feel like Iām in control now.ā
Ā He sighed, eyes full of sorrow. āThatās where youāre wrong, mo chridhe. You sent him to the hell where he belongs. Ye dinna need to live in fear any longer. But even though he willnae stalk the earth no longerā¦ā Gently, carefully he unclenched his fist and rested it over her heart. āIt will be in here for the rest of your days. Ye willnae think of it all the time anymore. Ye will always ken that the story ended in the way ye wanted it to. But trust me when I say, when ye least expect it, it will come back to you again.ā
Ā She pursed her lips. āWhen does it come back for you?ā
Ā āIn my dreams, usually. When I was in fever wiā the snakebite ā I was in as much pain as I was right after all that happened.ā He paused. āAnd sometimes, I dinna ken what brings it to my mind ā only, I could be wiā the horses, or at the whisky spring, or even in bed wiā yer Mam. It will come back. And Iāve learned to noā question the why. Yer Mam has helped me wiā that. Do ye ken that she has troubles of her own, from her time in the great world war?ā
Ā Brianna frowned. āYou mean ā she has flashbacks?ā
Ā āI dinna ken what to call them, but since I married her I remember at least four times when she returned to the war, in her mind, and stopped breathing.ā
Ā Brianna brought a hand to her mouth, shocked. āOh my God,ā she whispered.
Ā āI only tell you this, Brianna, so that you understand that youāre noā alone. Surely ye ken that, living wiā Roger. But yer Mam taught me, and I reminder her of this too, that the best thing to do is to let it happen. Dinna fight it, it will stay longer wiā ye. And then when itās over, find a person you love and just be wiā them.ā
Ā She took his hand between her own. āDid one just happen to you?ā
Ā He didnāt lower his gaze from hers, but squeezed her hand. āIt doesnae ever go away. But wiā time, ye can heal of it.ā
Ā He pulled her to him, then, and they held each other for a long time.
Ā āI wish this never happened to ye, a chiusle. I only ever want ye to be happy and safe.ā
Ā She held him tighter. āI am. Right now. Always.ā
Ā He kissed the top of her head, and whispered āDeo gratiasā into her crown.

jack is holding his anxiety back SO HARD here that he looks like freshman year hockey robot jack again
we are jack in this moment because we knew exactly what was going to happen but we were still nervous
Jack, dropping a printer onto the counter: sorry bittle gtg no time for kissing
Jackās brain, chanting: no thesis = no ring, no thesis = no ring, must leave, so i can get marriedā¦
IS ANYONE WRITING A FIC WHERE ONE OF THE ERRANDS JACK AND COACH GO ON IN CHRISTMAS IN MADISON IS JACK BUYING A RING,, PLEASE
Richard isnāt really paying attention to Jack, more invested in finding a reasonably priced necklace for Susie ā but when he finally does look up from the case, he sees his sonās boyfriend fixated hard on the menās wedding bands.
Richard watches silently as Jack moves from the top of the glass, leaning down to inspect the rings at different angles, moving away from the gaudier, thick metal rings and inlaid diamonds down to the simpler bands.
āSon?ā
Jack startles as if heās been caught doing something shameful.Ā
āWe ready? Did you find one?ā Jack asks quickly, moving away from the display case, but Richard doesnāt follow.
Richard doesnāt do anything, knowing instinctively that this is a critical moment and if he says the wrong thing he could spoil whatever big future thoughts are rolling around Jackās head for god knows how long. He slowly edges in on the rings himself, and waits for Jack to join him. It takes about ten seconds, and Richard tries not to laugh at how skittish the boy is.
Reluctantly, Jack presses the tip of his finger against the glass, over a silver band with a thin, red stripe through the middle. Not too showy, but not simple, either.Ā
āWhat, um,ā Jack swallows, loud enough Richard can hear it. āWhat do you think about that one? Itās Samwell red. Kinda.ā
āWell,ā Richard presses his lips together, buying time, desperate not to say the wrong thing. āIf weāre talking about what I think weāre talking about, I think heād wear a piece of twine proudly if you offered. That said, itās a real good looking ring.ā
āYeah,ā Jack nods. Lips thin, eyes bright as he looks anywhere but directly at Richard. āYeah, I think so, too.ā
Richard catches sight of a salesperson and leaves Jack alone to contemplate a major life decision, itching to reach for his phone, but itās not time. Not yet.
He can keep a secret as long as he needs to.
I WOULD DIE FOR YOU
