Buddy that thing doesn't even look like it knows where it parked its flying saucer
This is what having auditory processing issues is like.
do you ever stop and think about how jacob tierney at some point of picked up a frankly terrible book and had the vision and birthed connor storrie and hudson williams out of his beautiful mind and now we can all run free forever
No cops at Pride, just Elton John with his Gucci shirt and a knife
no cops just elton john with his elton john brass knuckes

the human body is an engineering marvel. I sneeze in bright light. if I dont get enough sunlight on my skin I get tired and sad and have to drink a lot of milk to fix it. standing too much hurts, but sitting too much also hurts. if I get a virus, my body will increase its temperature in an attempt to cook it, which also cooks my brain cells. toenails exist. I have to turn the radio down to see better when I drive. there are 17 genes dictating what my hair texture is, but it completely changes when the air is too humid. yawning is contagious. there are more species of bacteria living in my body than there are species of birds in the entire world. every few months I grievously injure my neck by "sleeping on it weird." it took seven million years of human evolution to form me, and now I'm afraid of phone calls.

kind of funny how humans have designated strips of sand and water as the only socially acceptable place to wear triangle coverings no matter how hot it gets. like even if itâs 110 degrees sorry babe ur a slut if ur not wearing at least a tank top
in hindsight sending the number one digit at a time created the funniest half second of either of our lives

I know you, I walked with you once upon a dream. I know you, the gleam in your eyes is so familiar a gleam.

following on from other discussions on my dash today (thank you @ilyarizzanov and @ilyasmole I hope you donât mind being shouted out for being correct as always!), but I think another point to be made is that Ilyaâs bisexuality is also super important as a metaphor within the story. As in, it symbolises his fluidity and ability to code switch in contrast to shaneâs more rigid characterisation (think about that line from svetlana where theyâre talking about how Shane canât play wing but Ilya can, the whole âme? you would have him center me??â bit that Ilya plays up) That difference between them, Ilyaâs more go-with-the-flow nature and Shaneâs need-for-structure-and-rules informs how they both show up in their relationship, is part of why their feelings for one another go unspoken about for so long.
Shane even brings it up when he comes out to Ilya âshut up youâre not gayâ âno, not completelyâ âwell I think I am, completelyââŠlike, Shaneâs fears about how Ilya doesnât have to choose him like he has to choose Ilya are what holds him back from saying how he feels. The fact that Ilya has a real chance to make a f/m relationship work in a way that Shane does not is where a lot of his insecurity in admitting to himself how deeply heâs fallen for him stems from. And we can argue the finer points on whether that fear is problematic or rooted in some level of biphobia or not, Iâm not trying to erase that, but I donât think we can argue that it doesnât play a role in the story.
To me, I think the fact that there is that fear there, that chance that Ilya could end up with a woman For Real, is part of what drives Shane into going for it in admitting his feelings. Itâs narratively super important - even at the cottage, when Ilyaâs talking about marrying svetlana for a green card, their discussion on how Ilya could find some woman he loves and marry her for real is the catalyst for Ilya being honest about how much he thinks about Shane, which in turn is the catalyst for Shane coming up with the Ottawa plan and the boys telling each other they love each other. That plot falls apart without the reality that Ilya could end up with a woman. Additionally, I think that the fact Ilya does have other options actually makes his choice to pick Shane anyway more meaningful. It deepens their love, rather than weakens it. Just as Shaneâs struggle to accept himself and admit his sexuality deepens how meaningful it is for him to admit his love for Ilya.
To erase Ilyaâs identity as a bi man erases a core part of the story.
Iâm a normal adult woman with interests appropriate for my age bracket. That said, Tom Holland should fire his agents and hire me. Tom Holland thinks his audience is primarily men and makes movies for mostly their viewing pleasure; Tom Holland is wrong and Tom Holland shouldnât. Tom Holland, do you think MEN account for the 175 MILLION YouTube views of you performing âUmbrellaâ in drag? I assure you they do not. Tom Holland is married to one of the most beautiful and popular women in the world FOR A REASON. Tom Holland thinks he is Mark Wahlberg but Tom Holland is Hugh Grant. Tom Holland should be in Jane Austen adaptations. Tom Holland should be in romantic comedies. Tom Holland should be speaking with his natural British accent at all times. If Timothee Chalamet had even an ounce of Tom Hollandâs effortless likability, heâd have won four Oscars already. Tom Holland is for women!
sometimes i get weirdly anxious about the fact that thousands of years of evolution have led to my specific bloodline and it will almost certainly be ending with me. but then i remember the same is true of like every fly that dies in a drink before it gets the chance to reproduce so like. who am i to get all precious about the concept of bloodlines really. who give a shit. my ancestors arent any better than that flys ancestors.
