I know everyone constantly going oh Lan Zhan wanted to take Wei Ying home with him. He wanted to help because he loved him. Its ment to be seen as fucking romantic and tragic. And I get that. But here I am going at Lan Zhan "my dude, you want to take severally traumatized person back to your home with fucking copral punishment, so many rules that they are anxiety inducing, stupid and hypocritical, and all while knowing what happened to your mother?" Where is the logic in that? To be fair, Lan Zhan is still a teenager at this point. Lan Zhan is mostly thinking about not losing Wei Ying. He's not really thinking about what Wei Ying actually needs to help him. Over all it would have been so much fucking worse if Lan Zhan did take Wei Ying to gusu in the past life. If you just stopped and actual thought about what Wei Ying needed instead constantly going "But I'm going to loose him" (emphasis on the "I'm" part) things would have turned out much better if they both just ran away together. Got that donkey and left.
