Summary: She’s Dominique Gabrielle Delacour-Weasley. A shining comet made of fire, earth, and undiluted mass that streaks above to the awe of onlookers.  She’s no architect, but a dreamer, an explorer, who doesn’t plan out her life in 10-page parchment scrolls like Rose or Victoire do.

Relationships are often fickle things, where there’s no happily ever-after as she sees through the eyes of her family and her own failed ones. But love is worth building, even as it weaves through twists and folds. There’s a beauty to how feelings and emotions, so complicated and complex, can lead to building something so simple and pure.

Where Dom learns how to express her affections, and learns how to make dumplings in the process.

and of course i've been thinking about tragedy and how you can say "there was a way both rose and jack could have survived", "there was a way for achilles to save patroclus and himself from their fate", "there was a way for orpheus and eurydice to both get out of the underworld", "if only they had done this", "if only they had thouht of this" but in the end the people involved are not gods, they are stirred by their emotions and preconceptions and the limits of their knowledge and their fears and ambitions, and in good tragedies i think there's always a way out that is completely plausible and even easy to find but the humanity of the characters drives them to mistakes that ultimately add up to the most heartbreaking conclusion you can imagine. and i think that's beautiful.

I couldn’t choose just one OC so put two down using this picrew.

Kenneth (Kent) Chang — Don’t you dare call him Ken.  He’ll hex you or put a canary cream as your dessert when you’re not looking.  Kent’s the Slytherin Head Boy in James’ year.  He’s as much of a Ravenclaw as his mother, brilliant at charms and dueling, and inherited all her good looks.  

As much as this resembles Barbie’s plastic, perfect boyfriend, Ken’s got a bit of a wild streak to him.  He finds life at Hogwarts a chore, and often sneaks out into Hogsmeade via the Room of Requirements late at night.  He’s also a shitty Head Boy and honestly, he’s not sure why he was given this title when he failed to make prefect previously and used to play hooky every once in awhile.  

Even so, he looks out for the younguns in the snake den.  Or just amusedly watches the drama unfold and failed love confessions/triangles.  He’s also got a bit of a rivalry with James and Louis both for different reasons.  Quidditch-brained James who is a bit too easy to rile up.  Louis, as they compete for being the Hogwarts Heartthrob (HH) to their legion of female (and male) fans.  

For some reason he’s wearing Gryffindor colors.  

Penelope Zabini — Scorpius’ childhood best friend.  She’s lived with Uncle Blaise ever since she’s young and became acquainted with the Malfoys.  Astoria used to make her cupcakes topped with elderflower and lingonberry frosting.  Anyways, she knows Scorpius (oh that foolish boy) like the back of her hand always adorned with a multitude of rings and bracelets.  

Even though she’s a pureblood, she’s grown up using Muggle technology due to Blaise’s connections and eccentric friendships in the Muggle world.  Penelope is quick to catch on, and is far more perceptive than people give her credit for.

can you tell us anything about Let Me Tell You a Story? :)

I don’t have much for this, but Let Me Tell You a Story focuses on James through the years of watching Albus and Scorpius’ relationship.  From when they’re friends to eventual lovers.  

I plan on this to be a bit of an angsty mess though (but with a happy ending), as it deals with James’ own insecurities where he secretly longs for a relationship like Albus and Scorpius where they’re in their own world with eyes just for each other.  

It also touches upon being a good older brother, and what that means to be so.

Learning to Fly in the Rain!

Learning to Fly in the Rain is a James Sirius Potter/Lysander Scamander fic where Lysander runs an animal sanctuary near St. Ottery Catchpole.  He lives a peaceful life tending to his small farm plot and caring for his magical creatures.  This all changes when his long-time crush James, Quidditch extraordinaire turns up one day as an unwilling volunteer.  

Excerpt:

Lils, Lor, Lys. 

All a bit bookish, all in Ravenclaw.  Somehow becoming one inseparable from the other, with Hugo coming every once in awhile like he always did when he wasn’t busy exploring a new hobby or idea of his in Hufflepuff.  

Even if it’s been a good five years since Hogwarts, this still rang true.  They see each other less now though, especially after Lorcan became a lead editor at the Quibbler, and Lily starting her training with the Unspeakables after university.

Lysander’s got his magical creatures though, and the farm in St. Ottery Catchpole.  The wide expanse of green hills dotted with farms, the faint specks of barns in the distance.  The sky, wide and vast with her own personality that shifts from clear blue to cloudy, and then dark with the sprinkling of stars at night. 

He’s also got his feelings for a particular someone.  Feelings carved deep within like the gnarls of a willow tree.  Feelings that stick like the toffee honey candy he likes, even when he tries to will them away.  Feelings buried, the only secret he hasn’t shared to Lily or Lorcan.

Blue, Green, and the Flowers in Between ?

Thank you and @lovealpenglow for asking!  Blue, Green, and the Flowers in Between is a reincarnation and soulmates fic about Albus and Scorpius from Harry Potter which revolves around the concept of “true love” (and if this really exists).  In the world, there are some people destined to be soulmates which supposedly they’ll know by first look. 

Scorpius thinks the whole soulmates thing is a cruel obsession as everyone is hyperfixated on finding their true love, and prefers love to be a choice, not a fate.  

It’ll touch upon Plato’s Symposium which mentions how humans are two halves split by the gods from one soul, along with the red string of fate where two people are connected by an invisible thread.  

Excerpts: 

This isn’t supposed to be a love story.

Scorpius Malfoy doesn’t believe in love.  Albus Potter does. 

Scorpius would like to believe that there’s delicate red thread tied to an equally delicate pinky.  That there’s someone else out there whose string connects with his.  But those are just beliefs.  Mere thoughts born from old wives tales.  And Scorpius isn’t a child anymore to believe in that sort of thing.

A Gentlemen's Guide on How to Properly Woo Your Love Interest!

Here’s a summary:  

Charity events are boring.  They’re filled with the most stuffy wizards imaginable, the most pretentious feel-gooders, who’ll love to stuff themselves to the 9s with expensive caviar-topped h'dourves (which are delicious by the way, although that caviar bit is saltier than merman’s tears).  They’re even worse when you’re being auctioned off as a charity date instead of your brother on his Quidditch team, to gather donations for your sister’s charitable trust.  

Albus expects to go to dinner with a middle-aged woman who’ll probably pretend that he’s wearing glasses and has a forehead scar.  Instead, his highest bidder turns out to be Scorpius Malfoy.  That scrawny kid at Hogwarts.  Yeah, the one that got mercilessly teased?  Who ended up going to Beauxbatons?

Well, he’s fucking hot now.

Excerpt: 

“Yes, and play up the single eligible Potter bachelor because someone wasn’t available.  We do need the money.”

“Lils, you sound like a pimp,” James retorts, but gives Albus an approving smirk and thumbs to his new look.

“All for charity James.” Lily snaps and swishes her wand and Albus’ slicked back hair is ruffled.  Somehow undoing that hours long time styling his mop with Sleekeazy Hair Potion.  

“Really Lils?” Albus protests.  He’s not sure what goes on in Lily’s head sometimes.  Probably endless perfectionist thoughts about how to properly rearrange stationery items and paperwork.  Oh, and how to perfectly style his hair for charity dating events.  

“There, there.  We’re ready now,” and with that, she ushers them to the front even though Albus wouldn’t mind being a wildflower casually watching the annual society scene float about like a reality tv show.
