genuine question i haven’t seen answered before by a transfeminist. how can the law distinguish between a genuine trans woman and a cis man pretending to be a trans woman to get money out of hate speech/harassment in women only spaces law suits. unless thats simply uncommon enough you dont think its a real issue?

This literally never happens and would be actively counter productive if it did (faking being a trans woman would make people less likely to believe you obviously) but if a cis guy is being harrassed I don't really care if he has to identify as a woman in order to get legal support.

Question for anon why don't we see prominent cases of cis men doing it now? Oh wait, they don't, cuz trans women face an increased stigma in the eyes of the law, with laws targetting us and higher incarceration rates due to those laws as well as transmisogyny being built into the systems of power. This question is nakedly trying to erase transmisogynistic power structures. Cis men by and large do not identify as trans women to get out of legal trouble or obtain any kind of standing because being a trans women LOSES us standing. The system is already biased against trans women. If I wanted to gain a leg up in the law or workplace or wherever, I would detransition and pass as a cis man. Dumbshit question.

transfeminists aren't spending a lot of time on this question because the answer is obvious if you understand anything about the experience of transfemininity.

1. I will always find it weird for an adult to think a child is being "manipulative" because a child quite literally doesn't have the brain development to understand what manipulation is or why they shouldn't be manipulative.

2. Yes, Disabled adults *can* be manipulative, as any adult can be. However, I think it's important to realize that Disabled people are somewhat set up to be strategic in order to get needs met. This can essentially train us to lean into manipulative behaviors. Direct and clear communication is often not only inconsistent, but we are also at high risk if it fails. This means that we can be placed in a similar state of vulnerability as children, where we simply have to be strategic to survive (or at least that is the instinct).

Okay so here's the dealio: we need beds and mattresses, like BAD bad. These insane asylum-ass little cots with the one small blanket we have to share is a nightmare every night.

We need about $675 for beds, mattresses, sheets, blankets, pillows, all the shit to make this a proper home that's livable. We'll be able to afford everything else (groceries, bills, etc), we just have a super urgent need for the aforementioned things. After that, we will have finally gotten a place and made it a home.

If you can spare anything towards these necessities, please consider doing so. You can send it to my PayPal, which has been secured against the recent hacker and though my card is canceled so they can't use it, I can still access my account and withdraw whatever comes in as it does to Kalen's bank account, so it's safe and available for our use (instead of stolen).

Once we have these, most of our needs will have been met and I can shut the fuck up about it and pay it forward when I can.

Even if it's $5, every dollar helps so much more than you know. And anyone who has ever had to buy furniture knows how expensive this shit is. 😭 I hate that this is the society we live in, but the revolution will come in time. Then we feast on the rich rich.

These last couple of months have been really rough mental health-wise, and honestly I'm still going through a lot of shit, but if my brain is gonna electrocute itself and jolt me awake, I at least need it to be in a bed that's my own and I can fall asleep quickly in (sleep is hard to come by, maintain, etc.)
