It's always funny when people call Vax and Percy the edgy sadboys of campaign 1 as if they're remotely on the same level. Like, Vax is an earnest goober who loves everyone in this bar but just happens to be a bit depressed. Percy is a demonically possessed slo-mo trainwreck fueled by grief and PTSD who got rejected by the god of death for being too emo. They are not the same.

honestly the Raven Queen stuff is one of the funniest things about Vax & Percy because when Vax first met RQ he called her a bitch while proposing a Faustian bargain and she decided to make him her eternal champion, meanwhile Percy rolled up like "Good Evening, your Divine Highness, may I Pretty Please ask for your Holy Wisdom about my whole Soul Crushing Grief situation/" and she was like "Holy shit you are a fucked up little bastard! Stop contaminating my blood pit, weirdo!"

It had been a day.

And it just kept getting worse.

He’d triggered something with Kamui and was now falling…falling through nothing.

Longer than 7 lines but I liked it so wanted to share. “The palace was also bigger than she thought. The square buildings were deceptive in the winding halls and walkways that connected the structures. She would have to find a map or something to memorize the pathways for the Gysing princess. “You have been very quiet,” Issac teased as they passed under a walkway. “Nervous?” “I am just memorized by the palace,” she huffed. “It is the first time I have been allowed this far in.” After a moment, she quietly added, “…But I am a bit nervous too.” Issac had the audacity to snicker. “I could tell,” he continued before she could rebuke him. “Your grip on my arm might actually leave a bruise.” When it was pointed out, Eliana felt her cheeks grow warm and she loosened her grip. “My apologies,” she muttered softly.”

Nanami’s heart stuttered and vision started to swim, but then, everything around him came to a grinding halt, like he was suspended within a moment in time. When his vision cleared, Haibara stood before him, smiling softly.

Haibara… what the hell was I trying to do anyway? I ran. Even though I ran away, I came back with the vague reason of finding the work worthwhile.

When Nanami had returned to Jujutsu Tech, he hadn’t expected to be welcomed back with open arms, let alone welcomed into Gojou– no, Satoru’s– heart as well. It was like finding a part of himself he didn’t even know he was missing, and then when Itadori came into his life, the final missing puzzle piece slotted into place.

Haibara lifted his arm, pointing towards the exit. Nanami’s eye followed the movement as Haibara spoke words that made no sound, though Nanami heard them loud and clear.

“What’s that?” Iruka asked, peering at the stuffed animal Naruto was currently holding in a death grip while chewing on part of it. 

Kakashi turned around briefly from the counter to see what Iruka was referring to. 

“Naruto, stop chewing on Iruka-san,” Kakashi admonished the toddler. 

Iruka made a spluttering noise, his face going four different shades of red. 

“What?” he screeched, his voice cracking. 

Kakashi went back to chopping the vegetables for dinner, each cut precise and swift. 

“Ruka-nii, Ruka-nii,” Naruto babbled, trying to get Iruka’s attention. Never one to deny Naruto, Iruka kneeled down in front of the toddler. The bundle of energy thrust the somewhat soggy stuffed animal into Iruka’s chest. “Stuffy!”

“You have got to be kidding me. I am fully convinced you do this to spite me,” Iruka complained, waving a hand in front of Kakashi’s vacant face. “What does it show you I wonder.” Either you have a weaker will than I gave you credit for, or it’s growing stronger. Iruka closed the small distance between them, placing a finger on Kakashi’s forehead and drawing a quick sigil over his skin, imbuing the symbol with just a flicker of magic.

Kakashi blinked slowly, the faint tingle of magic coursing through his body as his vision cleared, the once overwhelming sounds of the forest had all but disappeared as a pleasant warmth settled into his bones.

“Iruka?” Kakashi asked slowly. “Where are we?” Tagging: whoever wants to do the thing.

I like the idea that Yamato and Kakashi are super ultra special strong ninjas. They’re formidable in battle, practically unbeatable. The other Jonin are too. But Iruka? Iruka spends his days with small children. Iruka chooses to spend his time. Trying to teach ten year olds. How to be ninjas.

Essentially what I’m saying is that Kakashi and Yamato can fight good, but Iruka fears no god. Sure, Kakashi and Yamato can fight, but can they not sleep for eight days straight in order to whip eleven year olds into shape? Can they deal with the temper of hyperactive demon children and still come out on top? Can they willingly make friends with the kitsune monster child and get through to him emotionally out of sheer force of will and some ramen? Can they work for 64 hours straight for the benefit of school children and still wear a smile? Maybe. But they won’t. They aren’t strong enough. They can hardly wrangle the beasts that are literally just three hyperactive children. Iruka would have no such problem.

And like Kakashi and Yamato know this. Like they are well aware. They secretly fear Iruka’s sheer willpower. Every once in a while they’ll act a fool and get corrected by Iruka and then boom they’re suddenly eight year old kids again and Iruka becomes the Super Important Authority Figure in the room immediately without even doing anything, and the jonin don’t know how he does this. Is it a genjutsu of some kind? How?? Iruka’s not even that powerful??? Why does that happen???? They don’t know, and they can’t do anything about it. Iruka is the single pin that holds everyone together, because everyone is secretly terrified of him.

And like the third hokage and Tsunade know this. Every once in a while a fight would break out among the Jonin, and the third would call in Iruka to calm the situation. Instantly the fighting ends. Iruka gives one of them a single look and they immediately become a ten year old who just got criticized by his favorite teacher. They apologize instantly. Everyone listens to Iruka, especially after he started helping out naruto. It is the unwritten rule. You don’t question the man who walks into the break room when he’s been sleep deprived for days, downs like the entire coffee pot in one go, eats a handful of turkey from the fridge, and then goes back to work and miraculously teaches 24 kids how to perfectly throw a kunai. You just fucking don’t.
