Kept me up at night
I’ve got it right here:
You’re welcome.
at any given point this week i am thinking about that one short where the person is doing beautiful chinese brush calligraphy but the voiceover is some fuckass guy going, in mandarin "EMPEROR, HE'S GAYYY YOUR SON IS GAY HE LIKES MEN BOTH YOUR SONS ARE GAY"
and whenever he says gay in english rather than tongxing or whatever the pinyin is, the brush just awkwardly scribbles "gay" in english rather than run the phonetics
i have the link to this but the account has no other calligraphy content so it's probably a douyin repost and i can't find the original for the life of me
AYYYY source found, ty @traineecryptid
fixed it

^Euthanasia for "undesirables" like the infirm and mentally ill is literally just nazi shit.
this is an example of needing to make assements of policy goals on the basis of desired outcomes and second order consequences instead of idealized conceptions of rights.
everyone has the right to choose to end their lives peacefully and with dignity. But you have to reckon with what medical euthanasia means: it means doctors and hospitals can now make a medical judgement that it is the best action to take. their position of authority allows them to influence patient decisions. The financial incentives emerge for hospital administrators to craft policies that will lead to euthenasia. doctors might be inclined to "do not harm" and end suffering rather than engage in curitive procedures, and as they are humans in society they will bring biased conceptions of unacceptable qualities of life. If the hospital or medical establishment uses metrics to rank doctors and surgeons, and euthenasia is weighed more positively than a patient whose life is lost during a procedure, or from their affliction during hospital stay, it creates an incentive to "head off" bad outcomes and hedge risks by encouraging euthenasia.
these are no longer theoretical concerns. we can observe these outcomes in real life. We need to make decisions based on outcomes, not ideological statements about abstractions.
I want to point out that the word euthanasia has a real and specific meaning. It means hastening an inevitable and impending death to spare someone suffering.
So if you are referring to a disabled person being killed, please call it what it is: killing. Homicide or murder if it falls under the legal definition. Killing someone who is not terminally ill and/or already in the process of dying is not euthanasia.
Historically, the Nazi regime used the word to cover up the literal murder of disabled people. The word itself was a lie. These were not „mercy deaths“. They were systematic murders rooted in eugenics.
As a disabled person, it is deeply disturbing to see people today use the term neutrally for disabled death in cases in which family members or doctors decide a disabled person is ‚better off dead‘. Even though the person in question was neither terminally ill or dying.
Words have meaning.
sick. i'm sorry but killing a teenager for mental health problems`? teenager? and for mental health issues? genuinely vile.
They will do this evil act and think they're the good ones.
