#O Ancestors! I cry. What is your wisdom for times like these?#Start a garden and have a cuppa. says my great-grandmother who went through the depression#Lie your ass off to the government and have a cuppa. says my great-great grandfather who escaped the potato famine#Keep your humours in balance and have a cuppa. says my ancestor who survived the bubonic plague#Bring tribe together so many make strong and have cuppa. says my neanderthal ancestor#BITE THEM BITE THEM BITE THEM. Says my small arboreal ancestor. ALSO LITTLE TREAT.#Thank you for your wisdom ancestors. I say and turn on the kettle. - gallusrostromegalus
How serendipitous to discover that my tags have passed Peer Review just as I have sat down with a cuppa :)
The Three Garridebs
Sherlock Holmes is such a fascinating hyperfixation to have because he’s literally everywhere. Every time I get invested in a new media I start a little mental “Time until Sherlock Holmes referenced” counter and it very rarely gets very far at all. Goes for real life too. He’s so ubiquitous, and so well loved, that he’s entirely inescapable, and I love that fact almost as much as I love him.
truly The Character of all time
“My companion flushed up with pleasure at my words, and the earnest way in which I uttered them. I had already observed that he was as sensitive to flattery on the score of his art as any girl could be of her beauty.”
A Study in Scarlet by Arthur Conan Doyle
I love those moments when Sherlock betrays that he actually is human and not just a calculating machine. ^^

Sherlock’s pose is based on (I think) Sidney Paget's 19th century illustration for "The Adventure of The Blue Carbuncle" (for those who didn’t know but I think it's a rather famous image of Sherlock).
John’s pose is inspired by S. Paget's illustrations of him, only sassier to match his partner's :D.
my spread illustration for @very-sincerely-yours-zine , of holmes/watson and the irregulars 🫡 love these 2 gay old men and their family of 173634 smart rowdy teens. thank you for having me, what an amazing project and lineup to be a part of!!

My favourite "roommates"
“For me,” said Sherlock Holmes, “there still remains the cocaine-bottle.” And he stretched his long, white hand up for it. ~~ The Sign of Four
[ID: digital artwork of Holmes and Watson, on the floor. Watson holds Holmes in an embrace, the latter clutching tightly onto his shirtsleeves. Holmes is in his mouse colored dressing gown and slippers. Watson is comforting him, hands gently on his head and back. /end ID]
