people calling 28 middle age and 30 year olds dilfs and anyone over 40 geriatric and telling people to wear sunscreen bc they look too old for their early twenties etc etc you are all wishing your whole life away
“It’s because our generation can’t see a livable future or access the living conditions associated with adulthood!”
No. That is why a lot of millenials and gen z’s spend a long time feeling inadequate at adulthood and celebrating childhood games and sleeping with their stuffed animal. That’s where the “28 year olds are barely adults” mindset comes from.
The treatment of anyone over 20 as OLD is the opposite of that and it is very much a product of mainstream consumer culture and Hollywood. They’re trying to make you terrified of aging so you’ll buy their creams and lotions and superfoods and wellness classes and diet pills.
Now that it has become slightly less acceptable (or less effective anyway) for companies to just publicly tell everyone that they’re fat, they’re replacing ‘fat’ with ‘health’ and ‘looking young’ and selling all the same bullshit in slightly different packaging (with just as much fatphobia, just less specific).
