@forest-dolls
Okay ive finally noticed the pattern ag dollblr. How many of yall are neurodivergant? I’ll start with asd, add, and sensory proncessing disorder. AG has been my special interest for about 3 years now
I have ocd, sensory processing disorder, depression, and anxiety. Also probably undiagnosed add and ptsd. I bounce between my special interests like a ping pong ball and AG is the one I’m currently stuck on.
Kaya
Full Name: undetermined (if anyone has suggestions for a modern middle and last name for her I’m totally open to them)
My modern Kaya’s personality doesn’t differ much from historical Kaya. She’s very spirited, prone to being arrogant at times (especially when it comes to her animals) and she has an incredibly close relationship with her family. She turns 14 every year on August 15th.
Kaya lives with her parents, two sisters, and twin brothers on her paternal grandparents’ horse farm. Her grandfather boards horses and is one of the best trainers in the region (the best if you ask Kaya!). Her maternal grandparents live in Idaho and run a nonprofit wolfdog rescue.
For pets, Kaya has a buckskin gelding named Phoenix, who was a gift from her grandpa. He’s a hard headed horse, and often tests Kaya’s patience, but she couldn’t see herself riding another horse. She also has two wolfdogs, Tatlo who’s high content, majority wolf with some husky and German shepherd; and Raina, who’s mid content, majority Siberian husky.
Kaya’s hobbies include anything to do with horses, hiking with her dogs, and hanging out with her girlfriend Felicity, who she met on the ranch. She hates school and would much rather be outside. She collects Breyer horses and wants to be a trainer like her grandfather some day.
About the doll: I got Kaya for Christmas in 2008 and she was my first 18” doll. She’s always been my favorite AG character, I have her original 6 books and have read them all several times (Kaya and Lone Dog is my favorite). She looks pretty good for being 13 years old! Her hair is a disaster though, it’s been like that for years. My childhood cat chewed on it so there’s some bits missing. At some point I’m gonna attempt to re-wig her myself.
This is not at all doll related but my parents’ cat Simba sleeps with his eyes open and it’s horrible. He looks like roadkill, he just turned 10 and every year he gets a little more gross.
It just occurred to me that I haven’t posted anything on here in almost three months?? How’s everyone doing, what’s new with you guys? My work schedule is nuts, which is a big part of why I’m not on here often, but I took a week off for a little mental health vacation, and I’ve been able to take some great pictures that I’m going to use for my dolls’ profile posts. Also, look who came today!
It’s Lea Clark! I got her from eBay for relatively cheap ($78 plus shipping) and she’s in really good condition, only thing wrong is one of her shoes is splitting but that can be fixed with a little glue. Her hair is so cute, I love all the highlights and different tones in it. I’m changing her name up a bit, adding an h to the end and pronouncing it LAY-uh. Her full name is going to be Leah Elizabeth Clark. I think her and Kanani are going to be great friends!
In fact, Nani already introduced Leah to her dog, Cactus.
I’m at an Amish fabric shop and there’s so many different patterns that would make the cutest doll clothes, but I don’t have my sewing machine set up yet and I’m not quite confident enough to hand sew clothes. I did however find the most adorable sea otter fabric to make a blanket for Kanani!
Excuse me but WHAT is happening here.
And here’s my review of the Western Chic outfit and Western Hat. As far as the hat goes, I really only ordered it cause it was on sale for $6. It’s kinda basic but seems well made, and I like that the bead slides up and down to tighten or loosen it. They made this outfit specifically for Felicity right? It couldn’t possibly look this cute on another doll. I really love that the different pieces can work with other looks. The boots aren’t too cowboyish and would look cute paired with a dress. Kinda wish the pants were just a teeny bit tighter at the bottom so the boots would fit over them, they look a little awkward bunched up. The shirt fits well and is really cute, especially with the belt I added from an off-brand dress. I wish they had put a bit more effort into the bandanna. It’s very thin and when it’s tied around the doll’s neck it keeps trying to roll up. It does look cute tied around her wrist though. Overall the outfit is definitely worth the money, but I probably wouldn’t have bought the hat if it hadn’t been on sale.
Aaaaaaahhhhh! Felicity is here and she’s just perfect! Her dress and accessories are so cute, and she has neck strings! The one concern I have with her accessories is that the fabric of the purse is very thick, and you have to pull pretty hard on the ribbon to get it to close, so I’m a little worried the ribbon will eventually wear out. As far as the doll herself, I absolutely adore her. I do wish her pin curls were more in the front so you can still see them even when her hair is down, but other than that I have zero complaints. I’m really glad I got her and feel like she’s gonna be a great addition to my collection. I have to work late tonight but hopefully tomorrow will be sunny enough that I can take Felicity, Penny, and Patriot outside for some pictures!
My absolute monkey brain has also decided that I need to devote my life and paychecks to creating doll versions of the four main girls from the Gemma Doyle Trilogy (Gemma Doyle, Felicity Worthington, Pippa Cross, and Ann Bradshaw) and a doll of Elaine from Song of the Sparrow, which is a retelling of the story of The Lady of Shalott and my absolute favorite book ever, I’ve read it at least 20 times and I’m reading it again right now. Of course this means I’ll eventually have two dolls named Felicity and three red haired, green eyed girls but we’ll move past that.
Look who’s on her way!! I’ve wanted Felicity for a long time, but it seemed like when I was a kid there was always a doll I wanted just a bit more. I wasn’t at all a fan of the beforever meet dress, and by the time I got back into dolls she was gone. When I got the release email I jumped to order her so fast! I’m really excited to compare her to the second version with the purple meet dress that my sister has. And take pictures with Penny and Patriot! I also got her the western chic outfit and western hat, since all my dolls are modern outside of the occasional photo shoot.
Wakko’s America but every time he names a state an American Girl Doll lives in we speed up by 5% per doll
i want to die this took so loooong
Note: Kaya’s story takes place in a vague area, and the Nimiipuu lived in what is now Idaho, Oregon and Washington. Celilo Falls was mentioned a bit in her books, which is the border between Oregon and Washington; for simplicity’s sake, she was placed in Washington.

Put a name in my inbox and I'll respond!
Kaya: Do you have any nicknames? Do you like them or not?
Felicity: Coffee or tea?
Caroline: Do you consider yourself brave? What’s the bravest thing you’ve ever done?
Josefina: What are your most prized possessions?
Cécile & Marie-Grace: Can you sing? What songs hold the most meaning for you?
Kirsten: Have you ever had to leave home or move? What’s your favorite thing about where you live now?
Addy: What’s your favorite ice cream flavor?
Samantha: If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and how would you get there?
Rebecca: What’s your favorite movie and why?
Kit: Do you like to spend money or save it? If you could blow a ton of money on something unnecessary, what would you buy?
Molly: Are you patriotic? What countries/cultures do you identify with?
Julie: If you could solve one major problem in the world today, what would it be?
Reblogging because I’m a sucker for ask memes, especially ones that are linked to characters like this one.
So I just figured I’d go ahead and answer these and no wait for asks because I’m impatient like that lol.
Kaya: my nicknames are Britty and BG I like them. Only my family uses my nicknames so they feel safe and familiar.
Felicity: Tea! Due to a heart condition I’m not really supposed to have caffeine so I normally stick to herbal teas.
Caroline: I’m a nervous non-confrontational person, but at the same time if I see someone being mistreated I have a huge protective streak that will make me be brave. The bravest thing I’ve done is report a family member to CPS. It was terrifying.
Josefina: A wooden box that was my great grandmothers in which I keep special momentos from my life is my most prized possession.
Cécile &Marie-Grace: I only sing when I’m alone because I’m shy. Three by Sleeping at Last is the most meaningful to me.
Kirsten: My family was military so I moved a lot as a kid, including to Korea! My favorite thing about where I live now is the stability. I haven’t had to move for a while and it’s finally become home.
Addy: rainbow sherbet is my favorite!
Samantha: I’ve been to 9 countries and have a trip planned to go to Canada after the pandemic bringing the total to 10! I really want to take a cruise around the United Kingdom.
Rebecca: My go to movie is Pacific Rim because big monsters and robots go smash 😆
Kit: I save for paying back student loans but I perfer to spend money on the things that make me happy, like dolls!
Molly: I’m not really patriotic. I used to be, but I’ve learned all countries have so much they need to make right and have hurt so many people. That being said I do my part to vote and stay informed to keep my country accountable.
Julie: I wish I could choose everthing, but if I had to I would say I wish every person on earth had access to plentiful food and clean water.
I know I reblogged this already but I’m impatient and honestly love answering questions like these so here we go!
Kaya: My first name is Emily and almost everyone calls me Em. The only people I allow to call me Emmy are my sister, great aunt, and late grandpa.
Felicity: Both! I always drink a cup of coffee in the morning, and I love iced or cold brew, although I usually put so much creamer in it that it’s barely coffee lol. And I drink two or three cups of tea every night.
Caroline: Not really. I think by far the bravest thing I’ve done is finally admitting I needed help battling my depression. It took six years, but I did it.
Josefina: Do my animals count? Other than them there’s my dolls of course, a couple of childhood stuffed animals that mean everything to me, and my vulture culture collection.
Cécile and Marie-Grace: I only sing when I’m alone lol, and I don’t think I’m any good but I enjoy it. Wretched and Divine by Black Veil Brides and Buried Alive by Citizen Soldier are my favorite songs and hold the most meaning to me.
Kirsten: Technically yes. When I was seven we split the eleven acres we lived on into one acre and ten acres and built a new house on the ten. So I live in a different house but can see the old one from it. I like this house a lot more cause it’s bigger, there’s more room for the animals, and more forest to explore.
Addy: Depends on the mood I’m in and what we have in the freezer. I like weird flavors, coffee is my go-to, I really like Ben & Jerry’s Cannoli, and my grocery store has a lemon poppyseed pound cake that is just excellent.
Samantha: I’m not a big fan of traveling very far from home (farthest I’ve ever been was D.C.). I do like small road trips. However I would love to see Yellowstone some day. I would have to drive cause I refuse to get on a plane.
Rebecca: Favorite movie when I want to cry and be emotional? The Red Tent. Favorite when I don’t want to cry? Both Princess Diaries movies.
Kit: I have a little bit of a spending problem haha. It’s getting better though. If I could blow a ton of money I would fence in the hay fields in front of my house and turn them to grass so I’d have room for more goats and maybe a mule.
Molly: Not really patriotic. I vote for people whose policies I agree with (which means I don’t support either political party at the moment). My family is mostly German, and we still hold onto some German traditions, but I wish I knew more about the Native American part of me.
Julie: All of them? How do you choose just one?
If you were an american girl doll, what outfit from your wardrobe would be your meet outfit? Mine would be my favorite yellow and white baseball tee and jeans with black flats.
Probably my black leggings, black sweater boots, and grey hoodie. And it’s topped off with a well worn scrunchie holding back my hair.😂
Plaid flannel shirt, down vest, green khaki pants with lots of pockets, hiking boots, and a knitted cap. My meet accessories would be a backpack, reusable water bottle, sunglasses, sunscreen, and camera.
My first thought was my favorite cream blouse, gray wool slacks, black flats with pointy toes, and cat eye glasses! But meet outfits are set around summertime, right?
So maybe my black dress, black tights, black pointy flats, and cat eye glasses. The dress is just above the knee, has buttons all down the front, and has pleats in the back.
Or for a more colorful look, high-waisted pleated shorts and a coordinating blouse. Maybe in maroon? That’s my favorite color to wear 💜
Gonna go with a navy blue floral print dress (florals are mostly cream, with a bit of yellow and burgundy in there), long yellow cardigan, and brown sandals, as well as my glasses. I’ve had this outfit for years, even interviewed for my current job in it (but with heels instead of sandals). Accessories would be a brown embroidered bag, water bottle with stickers, cell phone, coral colored wallet with some cash, a yellow scrunchie to match the cardigan, and my Epi-pen.
a novelty tshirt, jean jacket, brightly colored yoga pants, and black doc martins with roses on them covering up tacky novelty socks. Also my glasses
My accessories would be my shoulder bag, which would have various pride pins on the strap. in the bag you could have a tiny sketchbook and pencil along with tiny stim toys
some kind of graphic t shirt/probably the moon on it, either a black zip hoodie or some flavor of cardian, skinny jeans, glasses, “fun” earrings and socks. and either sensibly heeled ankle boots or sparkly/holo sneakers! My accessories would be a scrunchie, a bestickered waterbottle, sparkly mini backpack with a tube of sunscreen, a couple of lipbalms and a wallet with $3, and my phone inside of it, and maybe an alternate pair of earrings and/or socks.
Black muscle top with the words “if you try to pet my dog without asking I’ll bite you”, dark red flannel, ripped blue skinny jeans, black combat boots.
My accessories would be my rings (silver one from Grandma, class ring, and stainless steel with phoenix and dragon on it), gray canvas messenger bag with various pins and patches, and in the bag would be my phone and headphones, inhaler, and a tiny roll of dog bags.
And then of course my dogs would be sold separately.
Wow, you guys are great supporting each other. I took some other pictures too, trying to get a better picture than my others, up close more. The baby is more like a beanie baby, very soft. Both Nutilik and Taylor are well made. Nutilik even has a tail and legs that can bend. I I think the others already sent my past pictures. There is one more of them being naughty, getting into shoes.
Such a cute puppy. Like a little polar bear! And this post just reminded me that I have a Maplelea dog too, Boulder the Bernese mountain dog. He’s really amazing quality, so well built, and super soft. All of Maplelea stuff is top notch and so are the animal friends. @forest-dolls I hope this helps!
Oh all three look so cute together! I definitely need to get them, thank you for your help
Hey all, I’ve been perusing the maplelea site and I’m considering getting Nukilik and Nanuq to go with Kaya and Tatlo. Does anyone else on here have them and can tell me how they compare to the AG dolls/pets?
