Girl’s Dorm Headcanon time !
- Renee has a list of every man who Allison and Dan have gone on bad dates with or harassed them, because even if she won’t ever do anything to them (because Dan and Allison want to fight their own battles, because no matter how bad she is at turning the other cheek she still feels the need to try) the list means she could
- Dan stole their coffee table from a frat party freshman year and—while still quite drunk—decided that she should paint it so that no one recognized it if they came looking. She got a disgusting muddy green spray paint and only managed to cover half of it. She accidentally used Allison’s sheet as a dropcloth instead of her own and it caused an actual physical fight that Renee had to step in the middle of. The next day at practice Reggie tried to make fun of them for the “catfight” and Allison punched him in the face and spent all of practice laughing with Dan, because like hell was the fissure between them going to leave the walls of that room. Once a month or so, they get a new can of spray paint and redecorate the table. It’s always ugly, and they never once consider replacing it.
- Renee got a couple of scary looking ceramic figurines at a thrift store that Allison swears are cursed, and the first time they re-painted the table after getting them, Dan painted them as well because “it feels like they’re watching us.” They all refer to the figurines as ‘the creatures’
- The first semester, Renee gets most of her sleep before the others get back from parties and during the day when they’re at class, and sustains herself with ungodly amounts of the shittiest store-brand coffee she can find. By second semester, it’s become clear that this isn’t sustainable, and the first time she gives in and tries to sleep through the night she wakes up screaming—not in fear, but in rage, hands scrabbling for the knives that are tucked away with her things. The next day Allison hits her with a ‘screaming that much did not warrant you trying to kill yourself of sleep deprivation for half a year’ and Renee can’t tell if it’s disdainful or kind, and Dan has an extra mug of the herbal tea one of her sisters sends her in the mail every month waiting on the counter
- Freshman year is all fighting, except in the moments when it’s not. Dan and Allison are inclined to use their words; Renee has long since trained her fists to be her first attack, and it’s only Stephanie Walker’s voice in the back of her head and her own refusal to let Natalie Shields rear her head that solidifies Renee’s place as the “peaceful” one among the rest of the team.
- They all learn how to strike each other where it hurts—Allison can deal with her family being brought up but she recoils if you target her own past, the girl who couldn’t control anything but her own body, who Allison works so hard not to be. Dan isn’t ashamed of her past but she is afraid of the future, afraid that all of her work won’t amount to anything. Renee’s past is something she’s dealt with enough not to let it hurt and her future is not a concern; her weakness is the present, the idea that even the sweetest face and demeanor can’t wipe away all the fucked up things inside.
- Allison walks around their suite tits out (As is my right, she says, even though the others never challenged that) and Renee is almost always in a sweatshirt purely as a matter of comfort, which means that they’re constantly battling each other for what temperature the place should be kept at and Dan is constantly suffering from the fallout
