Alright gang, I'm trying to make a video about Jorvik rn and I wanted to know if anyone had a high-quality/high-res version of the *book* map of Jorvik.

If you have a copy of the book yourself and can send a pic that's even better.

But it has to wait untill tomorrow for me to share it.

However it doesnt have a key of how big Jorvik is. People just speculate because the book says it takes half day or something to ride from Valedale Village to Golden Hills Valley.

there's no way it's 700km from Jarlaheim to Jorvik City are they crazy?? that's like maximum 20km and even that's a stretch

I calculated the scale some weeks ago based on the width of the moorland arena and a basic riding arena (80/20m) I forgot what it was like but certainly not that much, I'll check after class

for reference this is what 500km look like near Sweden on maps:

Which book is it? Because non of my books have those keys.

I think its from the first triology, cause they mentioned the 2nd didnt contain a map.

Tbf they also thought the map didnt have a distance thing even when sending the pic to me lol until I pointed it out.

But *also* i saw some Swedish versions of the map that didn't have the markers so it could be an American thing. It could be a newer print thing. Idk.

But yeah had to check my version of the book and there was nothing. The english translations seem to have a habit of adding a bunch of new details that weren’t in the original swedish (the timestamps in Mr. Sands’s diary being another example)
