Mountain Mint
I love this majestic plant so much. You can never have too much Pycnanthemum around.
...Until you have too much Pycnanthemum around. Then you have a mint party

hey guysss so unfortunately the rumors are true and im leaving the narrative. Buttt the good news is my absence will create such a gaping hole in your lives that it will become a sort of presence itself, and so in a way it will kind of be like i never left! But i am. Leaving just to be clear.

divingbelles are mermaids in the selkie family who use humanoid skins to house aquatic forms instead of the other way around.
as this lovely lady demonstrates, some of the more delicate divingbelles that take after jellyfish or molluscs hold onto their skins kind of like snail shells. they dislocate the pieces to unfurl from the spaces between when under water, and pull the bits back together when they want to hide or walk around.
im glad that my extended family seem to be vaguely aware that im nonbinary but it makes christmas funny because most of my aunts have a very simply formula of "the girls get perfume and the boys get cologne" . and they seem to have realised they cant really do that for me, but havent come up with a consistent genderless solution yet. so each year is a delightful surprise. plain unbranded soap. those gloves with touch screen fingerpads. one year i got TWO different puzzle books. its a fascinating look into the minds of cis people and i appreciate it so much.
basically how i imagine the thought process. and honestly theyre not wrong.

One of my all time memories as an autistic child was being put in a "cant read" special class in kindergarten because I wanted to pick my own books as I was an extremely competent reader but they assumed the only reason I would ever want to do this was the books were too hard. The actual problem was I fucking hated Dora the Explorer as a child because I felt talked down to by her and they wanted me to read books about her. They refused to believe even after I proved it several times that I could read. Because I wouldn't read Dora.
So yeah neurodivergent children do act a way
many times adults are like "this child couldn't possibly be possessed by a ghost that understands its own experience and is able to express that," and many times they are dead wrong. haunted dolls rise up
a basket star divingbelle getting ready to go for a dip.
while some hold onto their human skins while swimming, the sturdier types hide them in burrows or caves when they hang out in the water doing their water business (a very cool and not nightmare level spooky thing for divers to stumble onto).
personification is maybe the bizarrest form of synesthesia. tasting colors and hearing sounds are like, okay, yeah, that makes sense to me as a form of weird sensory overlap. but what fucking wires are crossed such that the number 5 is a guy and I have gender envy for the number 7. why are they people WHY ARE THEY PEOPLE!!!!
you get musicians and visual artists out here like yeah this song is a painting is a song is a blackberry cobbler is a Jackson Pollock painting is crushed velvet
and then personifiers are like. I can’t do my homework without crying because 8 is perpetuating the cycle of abuse.
in high school I bought a shimmering indigo gown at goodwill because it was the sort of thing number 7 would wear it and I figured if I emulated 7 well enough, I could pull it off too. and then I never wore it because I lacked 7’s grace and mystique. 😂
Came across this art installation, Liza Lou's Kitchen, at the Whitney Museum of American Art, NYC. It's a kitchen made of tiny glass beads, that artist Liza Lou did, taking 5 yrs. to complete, from 1991 - 1996.

This Canada day let's celebrate the Hudson's Bay Company once owning 5% of the earth's total landmass now being relegated to a shitty kiosk in select Canadian Tire locations. Good riddance.
