Kaz: *checking outside the window and the rafters and in the small hidey holes* You’re not just my Wraith, you’re my heart and soul and humanity, without you, what is left of me would have lived in darkness forever.

Jesper: 😧🫢

Kaz: What?

Jesper: Saints…*reaching out to poke him* It’s so life like.

Kaz: *slapping his hand away* Shut up…what about you?

Jesper: Oh no, I’m not saying a word.

Kaz: Jesper Llewelyn Fahey…

Jesper: Hey! No!

Kaz: ….

Jesper: ….Fine…you saw me, Wylan, you saw me.

Kaz: You saw me.

Jesper: Yeah, he saw me, Inej sees you, and now…*slowly standing*

Kaz: Jesper… *also standing*

Jesper: *runs* Inej!

Kaz: I’m going to end you!

Jesper: *tossing a water balloon off the roof and hitting a random guy* See it’s all about the arc.

Wylan: I see.

Jesper: *hands him one* You try.

Wylan: Is this really going to help me get better at throwing explosives?

Jesper: Definitely and you don’t have to worry about hurting anyone because it’s water.

Wylan: *seeing someone walking across the street with an umbrella, takes a deep breath and throws it*

*the water balloon hits the person in the shoulder*

Wylan: *excitedly* I did it!

Jesper: Good job.

Wylan: I can’t believe I…*squinting* Um…Jesper?

Jesper: Yeah?

Wylan: What if the person I hit was Kaz?

Jesper: Then we would probably want to run. Why?

Wylan: Because the person I hit is definitely Kaz.

Jesper: *taking a good look at the man no longer obscured by an umbrella* Wylan?

Wylan: Yes?

Jesper: Run.

Nina: Who would you say is the most dramatic out of all of us?

Matthais: Kaz.

Jesper: So Kaz.

Wylan: *clearing his throat* Kaz.

Inej: Kaz.

Kaz: Excuse me? It’s clearly Jesper.

Jesper: How?

Kaz: Using your Grisha powers and pretending you don’t have them, dressing like you fell in multiple dye vats, the gun twirling…hats.

Nina: Kaz…who was the one who made revenge his life long ambition?

Kaz: ….

Wylan: And ripped a guys eye out before dumping him in the sea?

Inej: Gathers all those silly costumes you always have us wear?

Matthais: Scares children even though he clearly has a soft spot for them?

Kaz: You told him?

Wylan: Maybe…yes.

Nina: Purposely walks around town extra limping just to see if anyone’s bored enough to play?

Kaz: Alright…that’s enough.

Jesper: So you admit it!

Kaz: *gets up and limps away*

Nina: Drama king!

Kaz: I hate you all!

Matthais: *walks into Wylan and Jesper’s room with Jesper thrown over his shoulder*

Nina: *following* Careful…careful!

Matthais: I am being more than careful.

Wylan: *who was in the middle of flower business* Is he okay?!

Inej: *following with Jesper’s hat in her hand* Define okay?

Matthais: *gently putting Jesper in bed in a slow dramatic fashion*

Nina: Really?

Matthais: You said careful.

Wylan: Okay as in alive?

Inej: Then yes, he’s fine.

Wylan: *taking in the bump on the side of his head* What happened?!

Nina: *checking the rest of him* He fell down a flight of stairs.

Wylan: Fell how?

Inej: He and Kaz got spotted by some guards, Jesper took them out, or so he thought, Kaz saw one getting back up, ready to shoot him so he tackled Jesper which sent them both down a flight of stairs.

Wylan: ….Where’s Kaz?

Matthais: Unconscious.

Inej: From where I was it looked like he was trying to protect Jes from serious injury, but he hit his head on the way down it seems which left our gunslinger fending for himself.

Nina: Kaz, unfortunately, is heavier than you would think and gravity did the rest.

Inej: He kept mumbling about Jesper, wanting to know if he was alright.

Nina: He’s all tough until it’s one of us. The big softie. *sighs* That should help, but watch him tonight Wylan.

Wylan: I will, thank you.

*Matthais, Nina, and Inej start to leave*

Wylan: Inej?

Inej: Yes?

Wylan: Please tell Kaz thank you, even if he won’t take it, I wouldn’t know what to do without Jesper.

Inej: *smiling* I will.

Jesper & Kaz: *walking past the kitchen when they see Wylan and Matthais both wearing aprons and chopping things*

Jesper: Whatcha doin in here?

Wylan: Matthais calls it meal prepping. *slowly slicing carrots*

Kaz: Meal prepping? How ridiculous, we can buy food at any time.

Matthais: *snorting* Do you have every opportunity to stop while being pursued?

Kaz: That’s…

Matthais: You will thank me when we are hiding in the woods or stranded on an island.

Wylan: *knife slips and he nearly takes his finger off*

Jesper: Maybe I should…

Matthais: *pointing his knife at Jesper* Allow him to learn.

Jesper: But…fingers?

Matthais: Wylan, you’re focusing too hard. Ease up, don’t worry about thickness.

Jesper: *chuckling* Thickness.

Matthais: *setting his knife down and crossing to the other side of the kitchen, grabbing two more aprons and throwing them at Jesper and Kaz* If you have time to interrupt, you have time to help.

Jesper: *immediately pulling his on*

Kaz: I will not be…

Matthais: You Don’t wish to help prepare for your Wraith.

Kaz: …What do you need me to do? *sets his cane aside and slips the apron on*

Matthais: Grab a knife and cut up that beef.

Kaz: *standing at the harbor with Jesper and Wylan, a bouquet of flowers in his hand, other hand gripping tightly to his cane*

Jesper: So…did you put that together yourself?

Kaz: Yes.

Jesper: Cool…cool…

*all three stand there in silence for a moment*

Jesper: I didn’t think you actually knew what flowers were.

Kaz: Jesper Fahey, I will hit you with my cane.

Jesper: I’m not judging, just surprised. *clears his throat* What do they mean?

Kaz: None of your…

Wylan: Baby’s breath for everlasting love, pink camellia means longing for someone, red chrysanthemums mean I love you, blue salvia means I think of you, and fern can mean a lot of things, magic being one.

Kaz: ….

Jesper: ….

Wylan: Since you asked.

Jesper: *turning to Kaz* Where is Kaz Brekker and what have you done with him?

Kaz: Shut up.

Jesper: Is this Genya playing a joke? It’s so convincing.

Kaz: Oh look there’s Inej.

Jesper: Really?

Kaz: No. *hits Jesper in the knee with his cane*

Jesper: That wasn’t very nice…you can’t just use pain to change the subject.

Kaz: I disagree.

Kaz: Which one of you did it?

Jesper/Wylan/Nina/Matthais/Inej: *stopping mid snack break*

Nina: Did what?

Kaz: *pulls a card out of his coat pocket* Which one of you left me this birthday card and who told you when my birthday was?

Nina: *finishing her snack, dusting off her hands, and walking over to Kaz* Give me the card, I’ll find out.

Kaz: *hands her the card*

Nina: *retrieves a pen and goes over to the table, flips the card open, and writes a message in it with her name, then pushes it over to Jesper and Wylan*

Kaz: What are you doing?

*a few minutes later once the card has made the rounds*

Nina: *takes the card back to Kaz* Looks like it was all of us.

Kaz: *slowly takes the card, doing his best to hold it together* Well…don’t make a habit of it. *limps off back to his room*

Jesper: That was close.

Wylan: Do you think he’s mad?

Nina: He was surprised.

Inej: That definitely wasn’t his angry walk.

Matthais: What about when he sees the cake?

Jesper: Wylan has smoke bombs.

Matthais: Good to know.

Jesper: *walks into Kaz’s room*

Kaz: *reading a book and trying to ignore him*

Jesper: *immediately starts dimming and brightening the lights* Kaz…Kaaaaaaz…KAAAAAAAAZ!

Kaz: *slamming his book closed and looking up* WHAT?!

Jesper: You’re a bitch! *runs away as Kaz throws the book at him*

Kaz: *jumping up to chase him*

Inej/Wylan/Nina/Matthais: *eating waffles and watching them in amused silence while taking bets on how long it takes Kaz to catch Jesper*

Jesper: *to Kaz as he’s looking at himself in the mirror fiddling with his tie* Do I look alright?

Kaz: *starts to say something*

Jesper: *interrupting* Of course I do, why am I even asking? I always look good.

Kaz: You’re nervous.

Jesper: *turning to him, hands moving to his guns* I’m not.

Kaz: *glancing at his fingers tapping his pistols* You fidget a lot more than usual when you’re nervous.

Jesper: *crossing his arms* I’m…

Kaz: 🤨

Jesper: Alright so I’m nervous. I’m marrying Wylan, Kaz, marrying him, me! What if I mess things up? What if my reputation comes back to bite me in the ass? What if…

Kaz: Jesper Fahey. *drops a hand on Jesper’s shoulder* You may be prone to acts of impulsiveness, you may find yourself in more trouble than you should, but marrying Wylan would never be a mistake. *sticking his cane under his arm so he can straighten Jesper’s tie* And besides, if you break his heart I’ll have to break your legs.

Jesper: *laughing* Thank you, Kaz.

*MEANWHILE*

Wylan: I’m marrying Jesper!

Inej: I know, it’s about time. *making sure Wylan’s clothes are straight*

Nina: I’m surprised he didn’t propose to you immediately. *trying to get Wylan’s hair under control* I could hear his heart every time he looked at you. All those snarky words and yet every time he looked into your eyes, it was like he was looking at something beautiful and rare. Like looking at something sparkly and new.

Wylan: Really?

Nina: Yup.

Inej: I bet he's panicking right now.

Nina: Over his Little Sparkler.

Wylan: *blushing* Stop.

Jesper: *shoving his way uninvited into Kaz’s office* Kaz!

Kaz: *in the middle of interrogating someone*

Jesper: Kaz…oh hey Theo…

Theo: *being interrogated* Hi Jesper.

Jesper: Kaz, I need to talk to you.

Kaz: I’m a little busy.

Jesper: It’s fine. I need to ask you a question?

Kaz: *sighing* Fine…ask.

Jesper: I’m attractive right?

Kaz: ….I’m sorry?

Jesper: Just answer the question.

Kaz: I guess?

Jesper: Not a face you would leave correct?

Kaz: Sure?

Theo: I think you’re incredibly attractive and if you were my type I would date you.

Jesper: Thank you Theo.

Kaz: What is this about exactly?

Jesper: I saw Wylan, out with some guy.

Kaz: An attractive guy?

Jesper: Yes! They were “hanging out” and “talking” really close, like whispering around town.

Kaz: About five feet eight inches tall?

Jesper: Yes?

Kaz: Wears a lot of dramatic colors? No sleeves? Tattoos from his wrists to his shoulders? Long red hair in braids?

Jesper: Wait do you know him?

Kaz: *sighing* Yes, Wylan needed help with something.

Jesper: What something?

Kaz: It’s a secret. A surprise. For you.

Jesper: I’m an idiot aren’t I?

Kaz: Yes, you are. Now…get out.

Jesper: Sorry…bye Theo.

Theo: Bye Jesper.

Nina: *bursting into Jesper’s room* Was that an explosion?

Jesper: We could’ve been naked you know?

Nina: I would’ve heard your hearts. Was that an explosion?

Jesper: *looking at Wylan*

Wylan: Don’t look at me, I haven’t built anything for Kaz lately.

Inej: *swinging in through a window* Explosion at the dock.

Wylan: I mean he did ask me for one about three months ago…

*another explosion in the distance*

Wylan: Now that I think about it he did say something about a merchant who was…

Kaz: *walking through the door with a maniacal look on his face*

Jesper: Kaz?

Kaz: Yes Jesper?

Jesper: What did you do?

Kaz: All a part of the plan.

Jesper: That doesn’t answer the question.

Kaz: Shhhh, it’s all a part of the plan. *laughs evilly* That’ll show that piece of trash to even think about touching Inej’s ship.

Kaz: *arriving at the dock with Jesper, Wylan, and a heavy bag that he’s insisted on carrying* You’re sure everything’s in here?

Jesper: Yes, Kaz. I double checked.

Wylan: And I double checked his double check.

Kaz: Good.

*arriving at Inej’s ship and heading up to the deck*

Inej: You barely made it. *gives Kaz a hug, then Jesper, and Wylan*

Kaz: I had to put something together for you.

Jesper: Just you?

Kaz: *giving him the look*

Jesper: *just smiling*

Inej: For me?

Kaz: *hands her the bag*

Inej: Saints, what’s in here?

Kaz: Back up knives for your back up knives that Jesper made, a new coat because it’s going to be cold out there, also it’s bulletproof, boots for climbing, a gun just in case with plenty of ammunition, a few books, and some of Wylan’s explosives.

Wylan: If you hit someone with them they’ll go off. They’re non lethal, but they pack a punch so store them properly.

Inej: This is wonderful. Thank you.

Kaz: I want you to come see me as soon as you’re back.

Inej: *putting the bag down and wrapping her arms around him* I promise.

Kaz: *leaning down and pressing their foreheads together* You’re not to die.

Inej: I would never.

Kaz: *pulling away so Jesper and Wylan can hug her*

Jesper: You better come back, you know I can’t stand Kaz moping, it freaks me out.

Wylan: Yes, please come back.

Inej: Take care of him for me.

Kaz: I don’t need…

Inej: Because I need that moping face to come home to.

Jesper & Wylan: Yes ma’am.
