But as a person with faith, you can also find a sense of surety, a flip side. The dunya is a horrible place.. indeed it can be.. but I am a Muslim. I know that this dunya is not meant to be a perfect place. I will find in it sadness, destruction and heartbreak. But this isn’t the final abode, I am to be a traveller in this dunya. A traveler who is witnessing the dunya without letting it into my heart, without letting it trap me into hopelessness. I am to find in it perspective: my purpose is much much greater, and that is my focus.
