Oh boy did the new Scott pilgrim show suck
Dogs will do it sooner
Soooo true. I wear a lot of cat shirts. I have two cats. I am not quiet about liking cats. Women love talking about cats to me. Men, very often I’ve noticed, will attempt to spoil the conversation or insult me by pointing out my shirt and telling me that
a) some cultures eat cats, and they wonder what those cats would taste like (okay, I already knew that, and these cats on my shirt would taste like fabric because they are not real, only a picture. hope this helps)
or b) that my cats would eat me if given the chance (good, if I die and they need food, it’s good to know they won’t ignore the huge amount of spoiling meat I graciously left them as my last act on earth)
Watching Scott pilgrim takes off
My wife heard in her online circles that it’s much better than the original, Scott is barely in it, and it’s about Ramona flowers searching for scott but finding herself. It’s also supposedly “quite lesbian”
We are on episode 4 and so far I’m suspicious lol. Love Ramona, but it seems like the show is still all about the boys, and the women are not very fleshed out at all. Very nervous that at the end of this she’s gonna be back together with Scott or at least “want to be friends”, instead of telling him that just bc he’s interested in her doesn’t make him interesting to her.
There’s a certain level of stoned where the tits simply must be out. It is law. Titty law. Stoner law. Stoned titties. Titty stoners 🍃💚💚
I typed out a response to a "Are you going to do genital inspections at the entrance to the women's bathroom?" post but OP turned of reblogs before I could post it so here it is I guess:
It [the idea that women's spaces are pointless because female exclusivity is unenforceable] is such a telling argument because all that's really being asked for when we demand single sex spaces is for men to VOLUNTARILY self-select out. For males to understand that, though they may not fit in well with other males, female spaces are still not theirs.
The suggestion from feminists is never genital inspections at the bathroom entrance, but that males voluntarily refrain from entering and that females have the right to expel violators when we can identify them. Some males do pass as females, and our request is that they respect our space regardless.
Males truly cannot conceive of the idea of simply respecting the space and boundaries of women. It literally doesn't cross their minds, so their minds immediately jump to whether or not women can forcibly stop them. The belief is that if a woman cannot forcibly prevent it, you may take anything you like from her with impunity.
"You can't force us not to enter!" They shout. Of course we cant! Forgive us for believing in your humanity and thinking that you might simply respect us. We thought too highly of you.
You have a gender identity. I have lesbian sex with my wife. We are not the same
The most awkward part of being GNC is the fact that TRAs consistently designate you as “not a woman.” I work in a setting with an androgynous uniform. I’m occasionally asked by customers (usually either older or more rural) whether I’m male or female. The answer, always, is “I’m a woman.” The reaction from young, progressive coworkers nearby is invariably along the lines of “…You are?”
It’s not that they don’t realize I’m female. They just don’t get that I’m okay with that fact, because I’m clearly not “trying” to look/act like a woman. Every time I get a haircut, people ask my pronouns all over again. Because it must be a statement about my gender, right? It can’t just be that I was bored and had a pair of scissors around. Women don’t do that!
The worst response I’ve had was when a nonbinary manager heard me tell a customer that I’m a woman and corrected me.
“Actually, knightingael doesn’t identify as a boy or a girl.”
They went on to explain how I felt - about my body, about my identity, etc. All completely wrong and based on nothing but my appearance and other “gender” markers. This is what radfems resent in TRAs. Even outside of extreme examples like I’ve described above, there is an implicit statement about sex/gender in everything they preach - one that radical feminists have been fighting to dismantle since the movement’s earliest days. And TRAs argue that it’s compatible with gender nonconformity, but is it? It’s bad enough that even if I come out and explicitly say, “I am a woman,” I’m not believed. I must be hiding something. I must be in denial. I must be shy about expressing my “true” self.
God forbid I exist happily in my female body without conforming to gender norms. Is this really the direction we want to be moving in?
I think the worst instance for me was when I was playing Magic the Gathering with a group. One guy kept agressively they/themming me. I have no idea why. I wasnt into radical feminism back then so I had a full face of makeup and was probably even wearing a dress but Id done it to match the deck I was running at the time (blue and green sea witch vibe). I corrected him once because I thought he was just being “"polite”“ since he didnt know me. Only he kept doing it. I didnt press because because it was more baffling and amusing than anything. It literally took an entire table of men screaming “Its SHE!” to get him to stop. Weirdly he didnt even apologize.
The other day I was at the Taco Bell drive through and at the window one employee was cashing me out and another brought my food over to the window employee. He said “here’s her food” then looked at me and corrected “sorry, his food.” There’s no way this guy actually thought I was male, my bone structure and face is way too feminine for that. But because I have short hair and don’t dress feminine, I MUST be not-a-woman. Certainly enough that he doesn’t even have to ask he can just assume. It’s so insulting.
recently i went to a walk-in clinic. there was a machine in the waiting room to leave your information (including first and last name), and they would call you into the back when they were ready. when my last name was called I stood up (in very loose layered sweats, a mask, and a terrible half-overgrown buzzcut-bedhead), and the woman looking at the records told me to sit back down, because she was so sure I couldn’t be the who they were looking for.
after clearing that up, it turned out I needed an X-ray, and i was asked to remove my bra, and I told the tech I wasn’t wearing one. she looked at me and said “right! men don’t wear bras.” so I said “yeah, they don’t, but we have to deal with this shit.”
usually it’s really funny to me if i get mistaken for a man, but this was different. this was an explicit appeal to delusion. maybe i’m being too sensitive, but it makes me feel a bit sick. they’re not seeing a non conforming woman, or heaven forbid a blatant butch lesbian, no, they see someone who must be in total denial of reality.
but is it hypocritical to be concerned with how strangers might describe me, when that’s not up to me at all? maybe. I don’t know.
I started a new job a while ago. Retail. I wore a blue V-neck tee, women’s cut, loose black pants. No makeup. Buzzcut. The manager gave me a name tag with they/them pronouns without me asking. I handed it back and said, “I’m not non-binary.” He said, “Sorry. Um, which one do you want?” while offering me she/her and he/him pins. I asked if they were required. They weren’t. I don’t know if he offers every new employee a pin or not. Maybe it’s unkind of me to expect he doesn’t, but hey.
Multiple coworkers at that job asked me what my pronouns were. Each time, I smiled and said, “Oh, I’m a woman.” I wondered briefly if I should’ve worn leggings instead or a tighter shirt so I looked more feminine, then was furious with myself for thinking that. I was dressed in comfortable, practical clothes for the job, which involved a lot of physical activity and hauling things around. I was just a woman existing without the trappings of femininity, and it made people assume I wasn’t actually a woman.
For me, it’s not so much about being concerned with how strangers describe me, but frustration that opting out of any part of femininity is now unacceptable for women. So much so that apparently it’s more likely I would want to not be a woman rather that just be a woman who isn’t hyperfeminine. That whole experience was a blunt reminder that women don’t get the luxury of just existing; every choice is up for public judgment. We are marked whether or not we conform.

It’s funny how transwomen always say that they are “more woman” than woman-born-women whenever their “identity” is questioned. Never in my life has an actual woman claimed to be “more woman” than me, and yet you see it all the time from the mouths of transwomen. And it’s interesting because while “more woman” is not a thing that real women say, “more man” IS something that men say. Phrases like “I’m twice the man you are” are used frequently by men to degrade and insult each other, so it makes sense that that sort of mentality would carry over and be used by transwomen against real women, because they don’t know that women do not say those sorts of things to each other. Being “more woman” is not something that exists. It’s not a thing. And it’s certainly not something real women say or even care about.
Hard pill to swallow #1: The reason female characters are less engaging and less relatable to you than male characters are isn't because of your gender identity, it's just because they're written badly.
I prefer to not call them female at all less I begin to identify with them. Alternatively: Imitations. Caricatures. Femininity personified. Because they are not reflective of real women, but rather male owned puppets meant to convince us to act that way. Mirror nuerons don't help us here. Limiting your exposure to male and otherwise misogynistic media is the best solution.
Male directors, authors, actors, animators, and artists create their nasty misogynistic puppets to train us how to act. If you think you're not a woman because you don't want to act like John's dancing bimbo barbie puppet, then you've swallowed his lie that it was ever reflective of you or your sisters. Why are you letting men tell you what it means to be female? Their perspective is not the truth.
Today more than ever in history we do not form our own minds. We are constantly consuming propaganda. Instagram, tik tok, snapchat. Netflix, hulu, amazonvideo. Porn, advertisements, videogames. An unprecedented amount of lives are led more virtually than physically. Brains were never meant to be able to distinguish between a fake world and the real one. They cannot. And so when you spend 12 hours a day consuming videogames where what you recognize as "women" look like...
...your mind is calibrated accordingly. And quickly enough you stop recognizing these:
as women. Because your concept of women which is reinforced by an insane amount of conditioning is now: hairless, skinny, without wrinkles. A doll-like distorted mockery chiefly designed for male arousal around the idea of female submission.
It literally poisons your mind. Cut out male media.
