I am slowly losing my mind over the shift towards video as the default media format.

I do not find this to be an efficient way to absorb information. I am bored and distracted by the time the largely unnecessary introduction is over. I can't use ctrl+f to find the specific information I'm looking for. If there are instructions to follow, I don't want to have to constantly pause and back up to the part I need.

Sometimes I miss tiktok. I've been off it for 4 years after racking up hours of screentime and hating myself for it. Instagram reels is similarly addictive, but I hate Instagram in general. So I'm left with YouTube shorts.

But I refuse to use those solely because they fuck up my YouTube history so when I'm looking for a video from a few weeks ago I have to scroll past dozens of bullshit shorts to find the one cozy lofi I didn't save.
