Book Review: Beauty and Beasts Dangerous Tales: Beauty and the Beast

Merry late Christmas!!! Christmas Post (?). Sorry, I know Christmas was a few days ago but still. Anyway since I got this new book, y'know, book review. Hope you all are having a wonderful day/night! Warning: This review may have false information. Also, I think I spelled Lieu Wuei wrong 0-0". Please enjoy!!

In this village, there was a semi-wealthy family. A father, also known as Lieu Wuei ( Weui? ). Who has 3 sons and 3 daughters. One is named Mei which also translates to "beauty". She would so be called the privileged one. She would help clean and stay home with her father while the other siblings were out. The father once said that there was an order which was over sea and that would make him rich. However the shipment on the boat sank. The family was no longer wealthy and the father tried contacting many people to invest in his business. One day, a man ask to meet up with him in a town far away ( it's not that far away and I forgot the name of the town ;-; ). The town was a wealthy town with a lot of good riches. The sisters asked for all of those girly stuff while Mei only asked for a rose. While the father was heading back home he found a castle. He couldn't get anything for the other girls but he did find some roses by the entrance of the castle. He decided to pick one rose for Mei but then suddenly a beast was there. Would the beast hold him captive or would someone save him?

Hello people whoever is seeing this post. This took me like 3 days for no reason -w-. Also yes I changed my profile picture to Ganyu (one of my favorite Genshin Impact characters). Anyway now lets get onto rating the book. This book has retold fairy tales like beauty and the beast, Snow white, Rapunzal, etc. I would rate this tale 5 of of 5. This retold tale was spectacular! I would particularly love the ending because I haven't seen that type of ending before! I would recommend this book to people who like retold fairy tales and people who like girl power and adventure. Manga Review : Toto! The Wonderful Adventure

Hello everyone, I'm back! Sorry I haven't been able to post in a long time. School has started and I recently checked out this new manga from my library. Please know that I can't get the first book so instead, I got the fourth book. Warning: Please know that this review may contain some spoilers or some false information ( please don't take it the wrong way ). Thank you!

Kakashi ( no, not Kakashi from Naruto ) and Lion have mistakenly helped Damda Dam ( who was under the disguise of the Nassau Army ) get to a place where they have been trying to find an accessory ( also known as the rabbit earrings ). While Dorothy was trying to take her belt test. Sadly, she failed knowing she might never be with Loin or Kakashi again. Dorothy unexpectedly does this exotic ( or shall I say interesting ) Jutsu (also known as the "Tornado Senjustsu" ). Extinguishing the flames around her, everyone seemed amused. Knowing this magnificent Senjutsu, would look almost terrified or in awe. As Kakashi was still fighting Damda Dam, failing as Damda revealed this robotic arm. Throw Kakashi into the wall, Dorothy offered to defeat the traitor. Working together with Kakashi, they were able to knock him out and Dorothy was able to retake her test which she passed. Dorothy's mentor explained that the accessory was not with him but with one of his past students. Also known as Clock, he stole the rabbit earrings and went off to Garrot Town. As Loin, Kakashi, and Dorothy went to that town, they knew exactly where Clock was hiding. However, they got kicked out of the building as there was a robbery. The security mistook the three as the robber's helpers. The robber ( who is Alice from the Wonder Family ) decided to help the group. Once getting back to Alice's base, she explained that at least 10 million geres ( I think that's what it's called ) flew out of the bag cause one of them ripped the bad. Alice telling the three they are all in debt they have no idea what to do. Will the group pay Alice back? Or will they abandon her and look for Clock?

I can not tell you how many times I messed up typing this. Well for this review, I would give it a 3.7 ( I guess consider it a 4 out of 5?). The storyline wasn't my favorite but it was nice ( please know that this is the first manga of the volume I read ). I had a little hard time reading what the character says but I enjoyed this manga. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes adventure mangas or action mangas.

Book Review : Caraval

During the weekend, my brother, mom, and I went to Barnes&Nobles to buy some books. As I was looking at all of the books, I found a book that looked interesting and I decided to buy it. Well, my mom did but, you get the point. I bet you are wondering what the book is. The book I decided to read is Caraval. Before reading this review, understand that there may be some spoilers or details that may be false. Please read with caution!

A little girl, Scarlette, wrote letters to the Caraval Master. Or known as the owner of the Caraval, she would write every year. She always wanted him to perform at her island. One day he finally wrote back and said he and his circus were not traveling but, he sent three tickets to come to his island where he will perform. Scarlette's sister, Donatella, was also informed that they could be able to attend the circus. Unfortunately for Scarlette, she was getting married in a week and she had to prepare. Adding to that, her father would punish her badly if he knew that she and her sister escaped the island. Suddenly, when the sisters were talking a strange boy approached them. It was Julian, the ship-boy. The sisters never heard or saw him but they decided to talk. They both were talking when Scarlette's father came. He asked Julian how his drinks were. Julian lied and said he enjoyed them but, the father knew he was lying. Assuming that Julian was 'tasting' one of his daughters, he asked who. Even though they told him it was a misunderstanding, he didn't believe them. Julian decided to say Scarlette and it did not end well. A little while later Donatella presented the Caraval tickets to Julian and he was honestly a little curious how they got them. A day later Julian wanted to meet Scarlette near the black sands on her island. Suddenly, Scarlette was unconscious and she woke up on a boat. Julian explained that he and Donatella made a plan that they wanted to go to the Caraval. Knowing that Scarlette would have declined, they made her unconscious so she would be able to go to the Carval with all of them. After a while, the boat started to sink and Julian and Scarlette had to abandon it. They finally arrived at the island where the Caraval was going to perform. Julian said that he dropped Donatella on the island before he picked up Scarlette. However, both of them didn't see her. It was like she just disappeared. Will Sharlette find her sister, beat the Caraval games, and even meet the Caraval master?

Book Review: Wicked Saints

I just finished a book called Wicked Saints, a book my mom lent me. For the people who ever read this, please read with caution where there might be spoilers. I'm sorry if some of my details are wrong in the summary.

There was this girl named Nadya who grew up in a monastery. She was a special girl because every time she called for the gods in her country, they would listen to her. Each god has a power of their own which they can lend to Nadya. One day when she was in the dungeon in the monastery, her friend heard loud canons near the place. The enemy had breached the town. Their country was at war, but this was the closest that they have ever reached. The enemy only stayed at the east border because they could never advance. Nadya was escaping with her two friends until they spot a high prince, Serefin. He was high royalty and a powerful blood mage, but he was on the enemy’s side. Nadya knew she could not escape so her friend risked his life to make sure Nadya and her other friend escaped unharmed.

Nadya and her friend, Anne, wandered into a dark tunnel hoping the enemy was not watching them or at the end of the tunnel. The closer they got to the other side the more visible ten people got. Neither Nadya nor Anne could identify the strangers, so Nadya decided to check. As soon as she walked out into the open, two people were at her back and neck. She was certainly not to attack because she would not want to risk her life just by escaping from these people. Sooner or later Nadya would save one of these mysterious people and they would offer her protection from the High Prince. Nadya and Anne got along with most of the group. The leader, Malachaszi, wanted to find another church to hide in. They were previously hiding in a church, but it looked like it would collapse at any random moment. After a generous amount of time, they came across a sturdy church. It looked a little too sturdy for Anne, but they went inside anyway. The walls were giving off an eerie vibe that the group was not satisfied with. Malachaszi knew something was utterly wrong and they were all in danger. Suddenly, an unknown, terrifying figure emerged from the shadows. They were the Vultures. Vultures were extremely dangerous blood mages who make experiments at their home. Unfortunately, they were on the enemy’s side. Malachaszi and Nadya got separated from the rest of the group in the church. The Vulture tried attacking the leader, but they failed. Malachaszi avoided the attack but failed to miss the other one. Nadya and the leader decided to retreat and find the rest of the group. The group got back together but they were being attacked by multiple Vultures. After killing a few most of the group was exhausted and had no magic left. Nadya suggested to retreat with Malachaszi, and they did. The front of the church collapsed, and they both left in time. Nadya woke up after some time finding Malachaszi leaning against a tree and she asked if they could go back to the church. He said we couldn't but Nadya figured out a way how anyway. They both found the rest of the group under some piles of wood. All of them were fine except for one girl who was injured on her arm. After going back to the original church they stayed at, Nadya healed the girl and she made her rest for a bit. Malachaszi informed the group they had to go to the enemy's territory to destroy that kingdom. Nadya would meet and become friends with Serfin, battle the king of the enemy, fight with vultures, and even have a romantic relationship with someone that she regretted.

Anime/Manga Review: Cells at Work!

A little after my birthday, my aunt Giselle got me an almost complete volume of mangas. Like always, my mom made me write a review. Here is my manga review of Cells at Work! Inside the human body is about 37.2 trillion cells working together to keep the world they live in alive. The cells look like humans who work and live in the body. The world the cells live in looks like a city and factory to provide homes to the cells. Every day, cells work to deliver oxygen, kill bacteria that enter the body, send important messages around the body and repair any wounds that damaged the body.

Red Blood Cell is a clumsy cell that regularly gets lost and runs into trouble when delivering her oxygen to other cells. White Blood Cell is a cell that kills deadly bacteria that enter the body. Every time Red Blood Cell runs into a disgusting germ, White Blood Cell is there for her. However, when things get out of control for White Blood Cell, backup is called.

Killer T cell and Macrophage are both typed of White Blood Cells. Both have similar jobs to exterminate their enemies. However, Macrophage is responsible for cleaning up the mess after the intense battle of the two enemies. A platelet is a cell that is a younger cell than most. They repair any major or miniature wounds that damaged the body. Cells work hard every day to help keep the body they live in alive.

Once I finished the manga, I also watched the anime. For rating the anime out of 1-5 stars, I would give it 4.7. For the manga, however, I would give it 5. In the anime, the animation was very smooth, the voice acting was incredible, and I have to say the storyline was marvelous. As for the manga, the drawing style was excellent. The storyline was fascinating too. My favorite character was probably Red Blood Cell because I could relate to her in so many ways! Why I gave the anime 4.7 because there were some parts where it did not follow the manga. I prefer the anime to follow the manga.

Book Review: Dylan Murphy and the Magical Touch

This summer, my parents found out that our next door neighbor was an author. How cool is that?! Not surprising, my dad bought the books and gifted them to me, knowing I was a bookworm and all. So what’s this book you ask? It’s called Dylan Murphy and the Magical Touch. Before reading further, please know that there might be some spoilers below. Read with caution!

The book started with two wizards battling it out, Zondor the evil wizard and Alzar the good one. These two have been mortal enemies since forever. As their intense battle ensued, Zondor came out as the victor. Despite Alzar’s defeat, his wand managed to escape the evil wizard. By leaving Alzar's world, which is called Eldora, and transporting to Earth, it merged with a sixteen-year-old boy's body. The sixteen-year was named Dylan.

We first get introduced to Dylan when he and his friends were ice skating outside. While they were skating, glass windows shattered in front of them. Due to the unknown explosion, Dylan passed out and when he woke up, he found himself in the hospital. At this time he encounters Alzar's magical wand. Glass burst all over the place as the wand violently entered Dylan's hospital room. Unbeknownst to Dylan, the essence of Alzar's wooden staff merged with his body, which healed him in the process. This triggered something in Eldora that allowed a magical wizard to finally track the weak traces of magic from Alzar's wand. Unfortunately, Zondor's minions tracked it as well. Because of this, both the magical worlds of good and evil went to Earth hoping to retrieve the magic.

Once Dylan recovered, his friend Jackson and his dad went on their planned trip to the mountains for Christmas. While they were skiing, an avalanche started. A lot of people were caught except for Dylan which puzzled him. While Dylan was looking at the piles of snow, Alzar's wand, Samual, finally revealed himself. Dylan was utterly shocked and had no idea what to say. He doubted Samual’s existence but Samuel explained why he was the only one who wasn't trapped under the snow. Dylan then realized he was right. With this revelation, Dylan contemplated whether or not he should save the people under the snow which he eventually decided to do. In the distance, the ambulances could be heard. As the night approached, Dylan, his dad, and Jackson decided to go to dinner. Unfortunately, while the group was having dinner, Zondor’s minions reached earth and attacked them violently. Alzar's friends finally arrived as they saw white light bursting from across the mountain and was able to rescue the group in time. Luckily, the minions thought Alzar’s magic still resided in the wand and retreated once they obtained it thus, sparring their lives. Through this ordeal, Dylan ended up making new friends, learning how to control Alzar's magic, and even fighting the evil wizard, Zondor.

After reading this book, if I had to rate it out of 5 stars, I would give it a 5! The storyline was unique and didn’t follow the typical sci-fi books I’ve read in the past. Even though I didn’t mention it in the summary above, the story took place in my home state, Colorado. Actually it was in my home city, Aurora, which is even better. The writing was great and I could definitely imagine the scenes in my mind. I loved how fast paced it was and all the characters’ development. Jackson was my favorite character because she was athletic, brave, and duh, she’s a girl! If you are looking for a great summer read. I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in Sci-Fi and likes action books.

Book Review: Kingdom of the Wicked

I recently read a book called Kingdom of the Wicked by Kerri Maniscalo. The story started with two twin girls, Vittoria and Emilia, who were witches. They were taught by their Nona, who was assumed to be their grandmother, about magic. Vittoria got murdered by a demon known as the Wicked. To exact revenge, Emilia summoned another demon. This demon ended up being the Prince of Hell, Prince Wrath. She soon realized that she had set a bond on the prince that they could not get rid of. She had no choice but to work with him to find the murderer of her twin sister even though they deeply loathed each other. Emilia and Wrath eventually became friends which led to a romantic relationship. She later meets monstrous princes, evil demons, and a bloodthirsty vampire. This book is filled with gore, horror, and a brave girl willing to do anything to get revenge for her sister.

I thoroughly enjoyed Kingdom of the Wicked. The plot was amazing, and all the gore and violence were right up my alley. The author also did a great job describing the world the characters lived in. It was at a nice quick pace, and I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good mystery, murder, and a kick-butt female protagonist mixed with fantasy. The only part I didn't like was the romance the author added into the mix. Now there wasn't as much romance, but I feel like it could have been less romantic. If you like blood and romance, this is the book for you. If I had to rate this book out of 1-5 stars, I would give it 4.5.
