Bio.
chance came into the world fast and furious, arriving nearly a month early. that was pretty much an omen of things to come.
he is an only child and it shows. he's his parents' pride and joy...and about the only thing they agree on. they divorced when chance was four, which wasn't so bad. he had 2 christmases, 2 bedrooms, and 2 birthdays every year.
he tried a lot of different after school activities as a kid but nothing really seemed to stick. not until he tried his hand at bull riding at the county fair at age seven. he loved the thrill of it and begged his parents to let him enroll with the national junior bull riders' association so he could continue to hone his skills. reluctantly, his mother agreed. (his dad, a cowboy in his own right, was all for it).
at age 12, he started getting more serious about the sport. he took a couple of bull riding classes from retired riders and attended several clinics over the next two years to get the technique down. he spent his weekends riding practice bulls and really fell in love with the sport, loving the thrill of it and pushing to try and break his own records each session.
in high school, he tried to use his talents to try and pull girls in. some were into it. some thought he was an idiot. one time he tried to ask a girl to prom by riding one of the most temperamental steers (and broke his arm in the process).
chance became part of the national high school bull riders' association and entered several competitions throughout high school, medaling almost every time. his coaches say he's a natural.
he went to college at his mother's request but cared more about partying and making friends than earning a degree and he didn't return for his sophomore year due to poor grades.
chance continued competing in several lower level competitions while bartending on the side, living with roommates, and continuing to go out on weekends. eventually, he was able to apply for -and get into- the pro bull riding association.
now, chance spends his weekends under the bright lights competing in the pbr and he's trying to win enough prize money to make his mom proud. she still thinks he's wasting his life away doing something that's not very serious. he wants to prove her wrong.

roommates! i picture him living with 3-4 roommates. either they were all struggling at the same time or maybe they just saw cam's ad on craigslist and took pity on them. i picture them running lines together, making 2am diner runs, trying to find the actual best ny style pizza, and binge watching buffy: the vampire slayer
the ride or die: someone who encourages chance's daredevil tendencies and matches his energy. these two are the definition of 2 dumbasses telling each other exactly, you know?
childhood friends. maybe someone who came back from a time away and who either doesn't want to be back in texas or just never wanted to be there in the first place? or just people from childhood in general. there are a lot of ways we could go about this!

sworn nemesis. or just somebody who shows up at all the same competitions as chance. it's become a running joke.
