sighing once again at the cruelty of mother nature’s harsh winter, you decided to finally take a stance and walked towards your boyfriend.

finding him quietly reading a book on the couch, you stood in front of him. when he looked up from his book and a slight curious look you grinned at him, finally asking the question that’s been on your mind for the past few minutes.

“i’m cold, can we cuddle?”

todoroki tilts his head at the request, a small smile on his face when he hears your adorable request. he quickly bookmarks the page he was one before setting it down on the table before him. opening his arms to invite you in them, he chuckles when your face lights up. immediately making your way on top of his body, you nuzzle in the crook of his neck. specifically his left side so as to stay warm.

“you’re so warm.” you sigh into him contentedly.

“oh? so you’re just using me for my body heat, huh?” he smiled as he played with your hair.

“yeah, and what about it?” he chuckles at this before squeezing you a bit more closer to him, wanting to be as close as possible to you.

the space between his arms was a safe haven to you, a place where you felt that no harm could come to you. it was a place that brought you comfort.

breathing in the soft scent of laundry detergent and the strawberry scented body wash he used while staying at your place, you were softly lulled to sleep.

todoroki saw the way your back rose more slowly and also took notice of your slowed breaths, he only smiled to himself before kissing the crown of your head, whispering a soft, “sweet dreams.” before picking up his book, continuing where he left off.

obito had doubts about himself. he couldn’t help it, being with someone as beautiful, kind, smart, and overall amazing as you just had him down in the dumps sometimes. he loved you dearly, but was just insecure about himself.

to put it more simply, he was insecure about his appearance. with the right side of his body painted with permanent scars, he couldn’t help but feel as if you deserved someone better.

he knew he was a good shinobi, and wore his scars proudly on most days. after all, they showed his survival story. but on days like this where he saw how effortlessly beautiful and perfect you were, he felt that you deserved someone as beautiful as you.

a pair of dark orbs watched you read on the couch with one of your hands resting on the arm of the chair, the other held up the book. your face held a nonchalant look as you read the book, completely immersed by the words in front of you. occasionally he’d see a hint of a smile splayed on your lips as you read. obito felt himself smile watching your pretty face smile as well.

he tore his eyes away from your figure, instead settling on staring up at the white ceiling. a sigh escaped his lips as he continued thinking about his insecurities. unbeknownst to him, his sigh brought your attention towards him, your head tilting in curiosity as to why your boyfriend seemed down.

“obito, are you okay? you seem upset.” your sweet voice broke him from his trance, and he turned his head to meet your pretty e/c that seemed to hold stars. fuck, you were too gorgeous.

his eyes never left your face while replying back, “no, i’m just thinking.” he said as he shot a small smile that held too much sadness for your liking.

“that’s where the problem always starts, with you overthinking about something trivial.” you joked as you put your book down onto the arm of the couch. you crawled over towards obito and sat next to him, laying your head on his shoulder while you held his hand.

his lips quirked into an amused smile at the playful quip. he turned his head to kiss the crown of your head before laying his on head on top of the pile of h/c tresses. he closed his eyes, focused on the feeling of your soft hand in his. subconsciously rubbing your hand with his calloused thumb, he sighed once again before speaking up, “i just feel like- nevermind.”

this made you quirk an eyebrow as you lifted your head to meet his eyes. even with no sharingan, you had no problem hypnotizing him with your eyes. they seemed to be concerned as they stated obito down.

“what do you mean?” you said softly.

obito watched your face before bringing up a hand to your cheek. softly thumbing the soft s/c on your slightly flushed cheek, he came closer to your face, landing a chaste kiss to your lips. when your face was graced by a slight blush he smiled to himself. dropping his hand down to find your hand, he grasped the much smaller hand with his calloused ones. bringing your hand up to his lips, he laid another quick kiss onto the soft skin before finally speaking.

“you’re so beautiful...” he mumbled as he continued to make eye contact with you.

“don’t change the subject obito, tell me what’s wrong... i don’t like seeing you upset.” you said with a slight pout that made his heart skip a beat.

he contemplated his words carefully while turning his head to look up at the ceiling once more, dropping your hand in the process.
