thinkin about how good the kissing representation was in heated rivalry season 1. we had:
ilya’s firm but sweet kiss when he kisses a terrified shane for the first time
the desperate surging kiss from shane during their second hookup when his anger transitions into a burning desire for ilya
the kiss during the tense vegas rooftop scene where ilya's emotions were bubbling up and there were so many things he couldn't say
the tender, vulnerable post-first time mouth and forehead kiss that sent alarms ringing in ilya’s head
the intimate, blissed out, starry-eyed kiss on the stairwell
the vegas bathroom kiss where ilya's heart was bursting so much with shane and he tried to pour all his unspoken words into it
the “i want you so bad please get your clothes off now” kiss where they’re glued to each other during the ep 4 montage
the post-tuna melt kiss where they’re coming down as shane realizes he’s too far gone as ilya, on the other hand, is blissed out on the couch, moments before disaster
the “you’re not alone i care for you so much” kiss from shane when he crawls onto ilya's lap as he's crying about his dad
the kiss when they first arrive to the cottage and shane is smiling so much as ilya walks him backward because he can't believe ilya's actually here
then the tender, more intimate kiss after ilya admits he hasn't slept with anyone in months
the “i love you so much i can’t believe it” kiss after they both confess their love
the domestic "gimme kiss :)" from ilya as he's able to be vulnerable and needy the way he had always wanted
the kiss where ilya comforts shane after talking him down from a panic attack that was giving major "i know you well" relationship vibes.... "since rookie season" :')
kissing conveys so much communication, emotion and depth into a story!!! and it's also just so good in general. more kissing in season two please!!! :)
