So, actually the idea that horses are wild animals is a total misconception! Horses are 100% domestic! The last truly wild horse (the ancestors of horse today) went extinct so long ago that there is a lot of debate on what wild horses were like and when exactly they were replaced by domestics. Horses have been co-dependent with humans for a very long time. My mustang isn’t even wild, or even native to the land she was born on. American mustangs are actually feral horses, similar to how there are feral cats in the suburbs. Horses are also an invasive species in the Americas. The first horses were brought from Spain when the Spanish first came to the “new world.” Horses are feral and invasive. Not wild at all!Mustang horses should absolutely NOT be “left the fuck alone” because they are destroying the ecosystem and making it really hard for native animals (who are actually wild) to thrive. That’s why Mustangs get rounded up, they are essentially a pesk and they do a lot of damage to the ecosystem. Their quality of life in the wild also isn’t great, they don’t usually live very long and herds in some areas are severely underweight because there’s not enough vegetation to keep them fed. So maybe next time you should educate yourself before making ridiculous claims that make you look like a complete dumbass :)
