what are you most proud of with your writing process? 

I'm most proud of my analysis with my writing process. I feel like I'm able to analyze information very well for people who are reading to easily understand. I think I've grown as a writer in all areas overall, but with my analysis, I think it's been my biggest growth so far. In the beginning of the semester, I struggled with my analysis and wondered what else there was to add. But, with help from this class, I feel I have a deeper understanding on what it means to analyze information.

What do you like the most about your essay?

What I like most about this essay is it doesn't focus on an academic topic but rather allows me to express how I will use the skills in this class in my future line of work. I have enjoyed the reflective tone and the payoff of being able to use the skills learned in this class in my future work. This is very rewarding because many classes will just have you learn skills and then never really apply them in the real world but with this class and style of writing you get a unique opportunity to learn important writing skills that can really be used in any line of work.

what do you like most about your learning?

The thing I like most about my learning is my new found understanding for how to approach an engaging conversation with a web-based community. Even though I may spend a lot of time online, conversing with others, that doesn’t mean I knew everything there was to how to create something with meaning behind it. Sure numbers look good, but the community is why we create. Learning what made a community want to engage more with my content was an important step I had to take. Before, my understanding was a bit harsh, attributing interactions and engagement to almost pure luck a lot of the time, and maybe it plays a part, but there is so much more to communicating online that I need to be aware of and take into consideration when engaging with any web community.

I really like how you emphasize that community is at the center of web writing, not just numbers or metrics. That shift you describe, from seeing engagement as “luck” to understanding it as intentional communication, shows a lot of growth. It’s easy to assume that if something does well online it’s random, but you clearly recognize now that tone, purpose, and audience matter just as much as content itself. I’m most proud of how intentional my writing process has become. Instead of rushing to finish, I planned, drafted, revised, and reflected at each stage. Peer feedback played a big role in helping me see gaps in my reasoning, and I actually enjoyed revising instead of dreading it. I also paid more attention to audience needs, which changed how I structured paragraphs and transitions. This process feels transferable beyond this course, which makes it especially valuable.

What I like most about my essay is how clearly it connects theory to real-world examples. I made an effort to avoid abstract explanations and instead show how web writing principles actually function in practice. I’m especially proud of how the examples support my claims rather than distract from them. The main adjustment I plan to make is tightening my introduction so my thesis is clearer earlier. Right now, I ease into the topic too slowly, which could weaken reader engagement. I also want to revise a body paragraph where I summarize sources instead of analyzing them. By focusing more on why the evidence matters and how it supports my argument, I can strengthen my overall point. These changes will help the essay feel more intentional and persuasive rather than descriptive.

what questions do you have about web writing that will help you after you finish this course?

As I wrap up this course, one of my biggest questions about web writing is how to balance clarity with personality. I’m confident writing clearly, but I want to keep developing a voice that feels human without losing usability. I’m also curious about how professional writers adapt tone across platforms, blogs, landing pages, and social media, while staying consistent. Finally, I want to better understand how much to prioritize SEO versus reader experience. Being given multiple weeks of drafting opportunities allowed me to be able to better process how much work and time I will be able to put into writing my papers. Outside of class, I hope that my drafting process that I have developed will help me with any paper related inquires that I may possibly be tasked with whenever I'm outside of college.

I think the comparison between categories is clear at first glance. The side‑by‑side bars make it obvious that video consistently outperforms image posts across all three teams, and the difference is especially noticeable for Penn State. The design isn’t cluttered, the legend and axis labels are easy to follow, but you could make the takeaway even more obvious by adding a short subtitle (e.g., “Videos outperform images across all teams”). The color contrast works well, though slightly darker labels or value markers on top of the bars could improve readability for quick scanning.

What did you learn about your writing process that will help you after college?

This class helped me realize that my writing improves the most when I revise at the structural level before worrying about sentence‑level edits. Focusing on audience, purpose, and organization early made the later drafts much stronger and less stressful. I also learned that explaining why something matters is more important than just presenting information. That skill feels especially transferable to professional writing, where clarity and intention matter more than sounding complex.

My style of writing has been present in different sections of my content analysis, often less present in the data analysis sections. Each account I have pulled data from focuses on gardening, balancing my own knowledge of credible practices and those posted by accounts has been helpful to my papers tone and arguments. I have been struggling to find a way to transfer this into the latter sections of the analysis but has provided me with more experience.

How will having a good revision process help you move forward beyond this class?

By having a good revision it will help a lot when it comes to writing the final copy. If my revision is good the final copy will not need as much work or effort in order for it to be the best it can, making it much easier for me in the end. Additionally, by having a good revision I can add more new things in the final copy without much extra effort.

This makes a lot of sense, especially the idea that strong revision earlier reduces stress at the end. I also like your point about revision creating space to add new ideas instead of scrambling to fix old ones. That mindset shift—from revision as correction to revision as improvement—has been one of the most useful takeaways for me in this course.

how will having a good revision process help you moving forward beyond this class?

A great revision process will serve me well even after the end of this course as the vast majority of any future writing that I make will have to go through several rounds of editing and revision, especially all professional and academic writing. A good revision process also helps me learn how to look at my work not as its creator but rather as the audience would.
