Okay, so Diego calling Luther Big Guy is a thing (tm). Like, I write it in nearly all fics, if Diego adresses Luther it's usually Big Guy.
Could be read as a (slightly sarcastic) nickname.
Could be seen as Diego being the thirsty bottom he is, very much liking how big Luther is (like...show!Diego wants the Monkey D, I am convinced. Probably a size queen).
So I like your train of thought here, anon! I always thought Luther would be uncomfortable being reminded of his size but maybe that's only what he assumes.
